Too bad you aren't around the Chesapeake Bay in VA--the housing market is insane over there. it's totally a SELLER'S market! people can get pretty much anything they ask, even if they leave the house a mess. Demand for housing is completely off the scale around there. I've never seen anything like it. gonk

Out here, the opposite is true. A year or so back, there was a mortgage and building boom, far outstripping the demand for housing and the ability of people to afford it. As jobs in this state trickled off to other parts of the Union, mortgage companies found themselves with worthless properties on their hands and developers started to panic. Things weren't improved by unscrupulous loan agencies and out-right con men such as this story that occured, recently: http://www.denverpost.com/foreclosures/ci_4960960oh, and here's the follow-up: http://www.denverpost.com/foreclosures/ci_4988776Basically, these guys would set up mortgage companies, have their friends sign 100% loans, kick back the commissions to their friends and pocket the money for themselves, then let the houses sit vacant. 18 Houses in this one posh suburb have been foreclosed upon So, what I'm saying Lil Jo, is, that, even though you're in an awkward spot, be careful about your offers! I'm sure things will work out all right. Just don't let yourself be pressured. My parents were in the same spot and got reamed because they tried to close too fast. There's always a way to complete the move or stall your next purchase. Talk to your realators about and TAKE YOUR TIME! You've waited this long, you can wait a bit more. You'll make it!

Today's showing is over, no idea how it went because we left... but they generally send a comment sheet within a couple days. Our realtor stopped by to drop off some stuff, he said there are 2 more calls about setting up showings, hopefully one of these will be our buyer. Harbone... at this point, we are about ready to take anything... My sister and best friend are really relying on us getting to Texas. My friend is adopting a 9 year old girl and with the expenses of adopting I agreed to do her child care before and after school until they get the expenses caught up. And my sister never would have agreed to move to TX if we wouldn't have been planning to move there too... PLUS... the most important thing... I hate Minnesota and the cold, I do not want another winter here... I would rather cut my profit and have to fight to get back out of the hole than freeze another winter here.Thomas was in San Antonio this week, he took pictures again... The house is painted, the color we chose was Ivory, and he said it looks more like banana yellow... I really do not mind, my first choice was a green, second one was a yellow... he wanted first a grey, second a blue... guess I win. They do not have the brick up in the front yet, that is almost a blue/purple and light grey... He got to walk threw the house too *I'm jealous*... the sheetrock is going up next week, but they have the tubs in whee This is the stone color and the door color, the door color is actually a dark blue. The stone is close to this color, but emagine it brighter.

Lil-Jo The house is painted, the color we chose was Ivory, and he said it looks more like banana yellow... Don't worry, here in TX the sun will bleach the house paint soon enough so it will be ivory in no time! (That is, if it ever stops raining *sighs*) Hope the house sells soon and you get to move on schedule. It's a worry, I know.

If you notice in all the pictures of the TX house, it is cloudy... for the most part, this whole summer down there has been rainy. Even when I was visiting my sister in Argyle it rained every day... what's up with the weather???

mAOri waHIne Lil Jo the house looks fantastic! I'm sorry the sale of your old house isn't going as fast. I hope it all works out for you soon. Thank you We had someone call for more information on utilities, our realtor said they needed the info to see if they can get financed. We also had a showing yesterday and another one set for today... so cross those fingers.
