"I can't, Potter. I have a date with some friends. I'll see you later." As she turned away, Lily grinned excitedly to herself and her friends at the Ravenclaw table.

"That's to bad. Yeah, I'll see you later." He smiled and waved to her as she left. As soon as she was out of ear shot he turned to his friends still smiling. "She actully talked to me."
Remus chuckled. "I told you she would."

"She seemed a lot less vicious today, too. That's a good sign. Plus, she actually smiled at something you said. You made a lot of progress with her in such a short time," Sirius noted.

James couldn't help grinning like a little kid. "I hope so. I can't believe she actually let me talk to her."
Sirius chuckled and clapped a hand on his friend's shoulder. "I told you, it's the power of positive thinking." The question of who had originally told James he didn't have a chance with Lily was still bugging him, but he decided not to bring that back up right now.

Sirius sighed and groaned. "The last thing I want to do on a Saturday is homework... But I do have that essay to do for Transfiguration." He groaned again and thumped his head against the table.
