Sirius clapped his friend on the shoulder. "Aw, come on, mate. Thinking like that won't get you anywhere. Think like that, and she's more likely to hook up with Snivellus than you. And, in case you've forgotten, she pretty much hates him a whole lot more than she hates you. Besides, didn't you say yourself that if her friend hadn't interrupted, she might have actually talked to you?"

James shrugged. "You guys keep telling me that there's no chance of her wanting to be with me." He walked into the Great Hall and sat next to Peter.

Sirius frowned, trying to remember if he'd ever actually said that. "I don't think neither Remus nor I have ever said anything like that, Prongs."

"You could tell her what you do for me. Or if you still don't have her by next full moon I can ask her to bring the class notes by and she'll be able to see how caring you can be when you're not rying to impress her."

Sirius frowned. James had completely ignored his last question. He didn't get a chance to ask again. "Speak of the devil and he shall appear. Or she as the case may be," he smirked as Lily approached the table. "Hey, Lupin. I missed you for duty this morning. Is everything okay?"

"Oh man I'm sorry Lily. I forgot about it. I slept in this morning. I guess someone is starting to rub off on me." He nudged Sirius lightly.
"Hey Lily. How are you today?" He was trying to seem less egotistically like Remus told him to.

"No I just umm had a bit of a long night last night." Remus blushed abit. "And when I woke up this morning I hadn't wanted to move from Sirius' arms."
"Evans you never said how you are today." He really wanted this conversation turned towards him now.
Remus gave him a look trying to tell him not to push it with her.

Lily's smile turned into a small smirk. "All right then. As long as you're well. I'll see you tonight, then." She turned to James then. "I would have replied shortly, Potter. If you couldn't tell, I was in the middle of a conversation. However, since you insist, I am fine this afternoon. Thank you for asking. I assume you are doing well?"

Remus rolled his eyes when Lily snapped at james of course he had to annoy her again.
"I'm good now that you're here." He gave her his famous half smile.

Lily ducked her head as if in exasperation, allowing her hair to hide her smile. "Don't try flattering me, Potter. It's not going to work," she finally told him, though there was no venom in her voice this time.
