Before anyone says anything about me being a miserable b*****d, the sun was in my eyes and I'd only just left the bunker I am sitting on, in which there was no light for a while when the generator packed up. Hence the squinting.

There are bunkers everywhere in Jersey. I visited as many of them as I could. Its not often you get to be on British soil and in a German bunker.

In fact, I think I may have been to that maritime place. My Auntie lives in St Clements, just around the corner from St Helier.

I got lost walking through it and ended up walking through the damned tunnel! Well, as lost as you can get anywhere in Jersey. It was stuck with traffic and full of nasty fumes, I tried to hold my breath but it's longer than you imagine on foot!
