Both, I think. Though I'm with the people who say that a really good story makes up a little for poor art. Still I don't really want to read anything too poorly drawn.

has to have both... period! ok thats a lie i like them to have both, but if u give me a kick butt story i may be able to look past the awful art(unless it looks like my 6 yr old cousin made it, if thats the case then just stick to making novels... please... for all our sakes!)

Well I would like the Yaoi to be visually appealing. I'm not picky about storylines, it could be a one-shot for all I care; as long as something actually happens than I've no complaints.

I say, can't have one without the other 3nodding Most of the time, the art work is the main reason why I buy a manga collection sweatdrop If I just want to read something with a good storyline, then I'll just go online and find fan fiction or buy a novel.

the art makes the writing more sexy and exellent. but to me yaoi is not really yaoi unless it have writing or a reason.

It dispoints me when there isn't a story at all, or the author doesn't even show an intrest in finishing the story. Those books with mini stories in them frustrate me, because i always want more of the main story and could care less about the other ones.

Yes mini stories aggravate me too! the manga Vampire Doll does it and i can't stand it! the manga is awesome but geez give me something more to read. I want action!

For any manga, there needs to be a good storyline for me to read it. Bad art drives me nuts but if the story is good enough, I'll manage anyways.

I'll go for the story if it's really good, but normally, if I don't like the art, then I don't buy it.
I also find on just fan art and stuff that if the person doesn't have a pretty face then I don't like it.

One of my favorite comics has stick figures for art, but I love the story. The same applies to manga. The story is the best part.
