y ungothy thing would probably have to be...pokemon i still love it im not obsessed or anything but i love playing the gameboy games on airplains when i go on long flights back and forth from the far western to the far eastern parts of america.

Your kidding, theres all kinds of good animes that relate to death and suffering. Just look at Death Note (obvious example) or Code Geass.

Gantz is another good one if you like some gore in your anime.

Or if you read mangas, I'd suggest anything by Junji Ito...
