Okay, so I've only seen a few choice episodes of Avatar.
But has there ever been any sort of hint between Zuko and Mai, or was that completely random? D:
I don't think I'd mind that couple so much if it had built up.. but, atleast for me, that came out of nowhere! And I agree, way too sappy and OOC. talk2hand
But, I love Aang's hair! And his headband! O: I hope he keeps it. Because, personally, the baldness was the only thing that kept me from rolling all over his cuteness. *bald guys are a turn off for her*

Maiko actually did have some buildup, but only for Mai's end. In the episode where we get a flashback to Zuko's past, little!Mai is very noticably crushing on him. In other episodes with Mai, she gets teased about her crush by Azula. However, Zuko never shows any sexual interest in anyone. I don't think it occurs to him. (Well, until Jin.) Which is why his behavior is completely out of left field. It would make sense if maybe he accepted her advances because he felt like it was his obligation, being that she's a firenation noble girl who is consquently friends with his sister, but for him to be recipricating so passionately this early in the game is really out of character. rolleyes

There were these comics in the Avatar magazine. One of them was about how Zuko and Mai got together. There's a part where Azula's talking to Ty Lee and she says they both had crushes on each other. Ty Lee doesn't disagree on the matter. The funny thing about the date in the magazine is that Mai and Zuko pretty in character in that story. They got together in a very non-sappy way. So it really bugs me to see them acting so OOC in the series.

So it really bugs me to see them acting so OOC in the series. Mm, I heard about that. It wouldn't bug me so much if there was some reference to it in the series, though. Otherwise it just seems really tacked on to fans who haven't read the comics.

I hate it when they do those kinds of tie-ins. It's ridiculous and can ruin the enjoyability of a series for fans. Honestly this could have been handled even worse so I guess I shouldn't complain too much.
Now what I want to complain about is the lack of anyone good to slash Sokka with. I mean, yeah, I love that he has all those girlfriends and such but sometimes I want a good boy slash him with. ><
What do people think of Aang/Sokka? It might be cute but I sort of don't like it for the same reasons I don't like Kataang. It just doesn't seem like it would last very long. Well I guess I can say that about any pairing in this series. They're all just kids really.

Lol well, I'm a fan of Zuko/Sokka, just because I think that if they were on the same side, they would totally be best friends. I can't help but think that they would have a hilarious dynamic -- Zuko, the quiet brooding emo kid, and Sokka, the hapless comic relief. I think Aang/Sokka is cute. They're both kind of carefree, Aang of course being more so than Sokka but still, they're a very cutesy pair. It's good for "aww"ing over but when that aspect gets old, there's really not a lot that's interesting about it. There's also Jet/Sokka, which can be fun if it's done right. =3 New episode: IROH IS SO JACKED I AM SO PROUD OF HIM. heart And Sokka is still my favorite. This was probably his gayest episode. Katara: I know what will make you feel better! Sokka: SHOPPING~ Sokka: ::holds up artwork proudly:: Instructor: You added a rainbow. Sokka: ::meekly:: Is that bad?

@retice: It was his gayest episode! He's just so goofy and adorable... though I did think that they got out of hand. I mean, yeah, people expect him to be silly but sometimes he might have gone too far. I'm surprised the sensei didn't knock him around a few times. lol
Sokka fighting was great. heart Especially the last fight! heart heart
Also I see definite proof that Iroh's going to be Aang's firebending sensei! It's got to be why Sokka got the tile.
As for Sokka pairings. I do like Sokka/Zuko the best too but there's so little canon support for it that it just seems like a crack pairing. I'm not a canon nazi by any means but a little support is nice. ;_; I'm also not a huge fan of Jet/Sokka. Though I will agree there they would have some seriously hot sex. xp

Ahaha woooow.
The newest episode was awesome for character development. I love it when we get a little insight into WHY the bad guys are the way they are. And the four of them as a tag team? Funniest s**t ever.
The Zuko/Mai was more in character this episode, which made it easier to stand. I still dislike the pairing, though. =/
Also: OH MY GOD THE TWINS. THE TWINS WERE SO GREAT. XDD
I will never get enough of Sokka with his hair down. Katara's hair looked randomly prettier in this episode too, as well as Toph's eyes. Hmm.

I love the new Iroh, and I love gay!Sokka episodes... although I do kinda like Toph/Sokka, so I can live with it - as long as he doesn't get with Suki. I really hated her...
Actually, Ty Lee/Sokka had a ten-second potential, that drifted away... eh, whatever. Sokka with his hair down rocks, he should keep it that way - as should Katara -nods-.
Hair/Headband!Aang rocks, as did the whole "liberate the fire children episode"
I loved how Azula was trying to learn how to flirt with guys from Ty, and then the moment she gets a kiss she goes off on her angry firey doom rampage.
actually, I just totally love Azula after this episode ^^''
I don't like Mai/Zuko personally, I mean - if he has to get with a girl... well, I don't know. I don't like him with Mai, I prefer Katara with Aang, and I prefer Toph with Sokka. Ra knows what would happen if he were with Ty Lee... and Jun has to be with Iroh. Maybe that girl he dated very briefly, that would be okay.

I'm 16 and I think the show is awesome. As more of a sense of maturity in that story compared to other shows I've seen but that's my opinion.

On The Western Air Temple:
Timid Zuko = the funniest thing I have ever seen. Ever. His impersonations had me cracking up for ten minutes, and then he practices his speech on the frog (-like creature) and I just died. Ohh man.
And f3w9rj0fwj OMG REAL ZUKO/SOKKA INTERACTION. heart So unbelievably happy about that.
Katara made me laugh, especially when she gets all defensive about her man Aang in Zuko's face. FTW.
Toph, as usual, was awesome, as was Teo, who didn't even need any lines to be awesome. Poor The Duke was very lonely, and I wanted to give him a hug, and Haru...
Well...
Haru really needs to shave.

OMG, I thought the same thing when I saw Sokka and Zuko together! OMG! That was kind of awesome.
Katara's little "I will end you" PMSing was awesome too. That girl could benefit from some weed. She needs to chill out. Though I guess I'd be going crazy too if all my potential ships were together in the same temple at the same time (Haru, Aang AND Zuko wtf!). Dude, those ship wars gotta be scary.
Am I the only one that wants to ship Toph/Zuko now? I know this is a yaoi guild but man I have to make mention of it. She's totally going to pwn him.

Because he's in a flying wheelchair and she's blind? I don't know.

... oooh, man.
Kay so, anybody else get the feeling that this was an incredibly fanservicy episode? ::grins:: I don't even know where to begin.
Wait, yes I do. When Aang and Zuko are in the temple place, and Aang notices the pattern of the statues. He turns, launches at Zuko, latches onto his arm like a good little girlfriend and says "Zuko, dance with me!"
And Zuko, ever the charmer, says "What?"
Also, later when they're on the pedestal place, and Aang's fire goes out, he once again launches at Zuko and climbs all over him. AW? I can't even... just... oh man...
Sokka was great, too. I KNEW he would have this sort of teasing relationship with Zuko. I was so pleased =D
Little Toph and the badger moles was another great part. I love that they were blind, too. It was so appropriate.
