I'd say your rangers were toast and the warp spiders took damage, but not a whole lot else happened.
I lost 2 guardians or so from each of the defender squads, The rangers were scoring 2-3 kills per squad per turn at AP1. I annihilated him to a man.

That's where he sucks. I'd go FOR the deadly units. I'm jammy with my black rage rolls, so most of my men go around 7-8 inches instead of 6. Not good when they're holding the only heavy weapon of your army, but still..

hmmm. i usually have a squad of five with three guys with bolters, a plasma gunner, and a rocket laucher guy, and that is my heavy weapons team.

Necron-Hunting requires krak missiles. Easiest way to down the bloody bastards... xd 4 missile launcher 5-man dev squad.

rolleyes plasma cannons work better for troop hunting, they hav most of the strenth, same AP, and a blast template.

no Rockets against necrons for the double strength
but plasma against all other heavy armour
unless you use a combination of plasma and rockets

i disagree with your tactics, but anyway, the Eldar would just send a trio Prism Cannons. Man, they need to sell Prism turrets.

The rockets and the plasma was what i used when I was a marine player.

My eldar tactics are somewhat unusual.

You COULD make your own if you know what you're doing with the green stuff and have some spare Eldar parts 3nodding
Implement it using Vehicle Design Rules.
Of course, this is assuming you're playing 3rd Ed. I don't know if 4th has VDR.

No, Vehicle Design Rules are in the Chapter Approved book they sell. It allows for you to make ANY class of vehicle, as a transport or war weapon, mount weapons on it, customise them.... and then total up its points cost. 3nodding

The VDR were in White dwarf a couple of years a go. They'll probably re-print them with the advent of the new rules.
