I myself too have been caught numerous times......the first time I was caught though was last year during summer vacation. See, me and my family went to California to go to Six Flags and while we were there, I of course had to go to a mall or bookstore there. (I would have died if I didn't. xp ) But when I finally found Suncoast there and bought about $100 worth of manga guess which yaoi/shounen-ai manga happened to come out then..? Gravitation #12
Soooo.......back at the hotel room later, my dad asked me what books I bought (Since I had a pretty big bag with me after I got out of Suncoast.) so I quickly showed him Fruits Basket #9 & 10 and the other manga I had happened to buy. *sighs* But then he just happened to pick up Gravi 12 before I could hide it. Now, most of you know whats on the cover of Gravi 12, Yuki in the background clutching his head with a full-body shot of Shuichi in some leather....thing, towards the front.
Not so bad right? Alot of people could just write Shuichi off as excentric or unique.......which is just what I planned to tell my dad.......if he hadn't started flipping through it, and of course with my luck he just happened to stumble on a page where Shuichi and Yuki are making out. And since he already could tell it was to 2 guys on the cover, I was basically screwed.
Yeeeaaahhh.......that was an interesting conversation to say the least. sweatdrop I basically had to explain what yaoi/shounen-ai was and why I was reading that stuff. But my dad said I could read it.....as long as I bought ones that were my age limit.
Basically if I'm 14 I can't buy 16+ books. Which is what Gravi is, a 16+ book. But I had already bought all 12 of them so I got away with it. mrgreen
The 2nd time I got caught was when I bought Only the Ring Finger Knows manga. Again, it's a 16+ book but since there was only kissing involved my dad let me slide with that one. biggrin
The 3rd time however........*winces* didn't go so well. I had bought Passion for my friend Megan for her birthday, and when I buy manga for other people I have to read it. Its basically a rule for me......that and I can't resist the temptation. xp
But anyway, I bought the manga, ripped the plastic cover off, and read it. But I was very ninja about it and hid it behind my manga on my bookcase. Now, I wouldn't have been caught......but my dad decided he would snoop around my bookcase to see what I was reading.
rolleyes And of bloody course he finds the 18+ yaoi manga that I hid from him so he wouldn't find out I had read. But I managed to convince him that I was completely clueless about the whole situation and I wouldn't have read it if I had known it was basically porn. *snorts* Yeah, right. But when it comes to my dad, I'm a master at playing dumb. mrgreen So I promised I wouldn't ever buy 18+ books again whether for me or my friends and thats that.
*smirks* What my dad doesn't know is that I managed to get Little Butterfly. An 18+ yaoi manga. I wouldn't have even bought it, but my friend Bebe bought and read it, and said she really didn't want it. She liked the story enough, but she was looking for something more along the lines of say.....something like Yellow. So she asked me if I wanted to buy it off of her.......and really, how could I say no..? So I bought it off of her and now I'm waiting for #2. ^^
My mom doesn't really care what I read or basically do. As long as I'm not doing something that will hurt myself or disturb her sleep, she doesn't care. She would actually let me buy 18+ books I bet. Never asked but she probably would.
But thank god my dad doesn't know I read NC-17 stuff. If he did find out, he would take away the computer from me forever.
