For me, I was always a secret fan of yaoi/yuri pairings, but only recently (about a few months ago) found that I loved yaoi. Only my best friend shared that love, and thus I didn't feel so alone. Than again, all my other friends don't like yaoi, nor yuri for that matter, because they are mostly homophobic.
I met another friend who really liked yaoi, but at the same time was the biggest homophobe I had ever met. sweatdrop She kind of hates me now, after she learned how passionate I was for both yaoi/yuri and the like. ninja *wonders how she would react if she were to find out I'm Bisexual* ninja
It's easy to find anime lovers, but yaoi fans are rare sometimes, especially when everone is so secret about it. When you do find someone who shares those interests, it's fun! whee cool - n_n I'm Bi too! whee Just thought I'd share. ninja My friend Charlie told a couple of people I thought guys kissing was hot and now they kinda look at me funny. BUT WHO CARES! I'M A YAOI GIRL AND I AIN'T ASHAMED!~ heart

Strangely enough, I've never felt that way about any shonen-ai.
I've just loved it from the beginning.
It's difficult to tell anyone around me due to the fact that they're pretty much all homophobic, but hey, I tend to keep it to myself.

Well, sometimes... but only when it comes to the really, really shameful pairings like Atton Rand and Mical... I never deny the fangirlhood in general, though.

I've never really had a reason to deny it to myself that I was a yaoi fangirl or any other type of fangirl.
I used to hate it myself, since I didn't get the concept but once I fell in love with it I did it for good. I didn't try and force myself into it. XD I'm the one who got myself into yaoi in the first place (for the most part). So, thus, I have no reason to deny it to myself.
I tend to keep it to myself, but I never deny it.

To tell the truth, I sorta was at first. But as my friend kept on giving me more Gravitation manga and anime to read/watch, I LOVE IT!!!!!! heart heart

I've always been accepting of homosexuality. I was of the opinion "To each his own." So, it only fits that I enjoy yaoi.

idk, i was (and still) am pretty secretive about shonen-ai/yaoi. my friends dont know that i like that yet...but wat i say is, if u have two hot boys..why not let them be togther? its beatiful. i got myself into this, and until i find other people i can talk about its wonderfullness, then im quiet. 3nodding sweatdrop

I was when I was younger. Not in denial, but secretive about it. I only talked about it with two people - the friend of mine who introduced me to it IRL, and another friend online.
... now pretty much everyone knows. My Mom lets me buy 18+ yaoi, even though I'm technically underage. The only people who don't know (and won't know) are my best friends parents, because they're really religious and really conservative and would probably not let my best friend talked to me if they knew I had a "secret" stash of pictures of boys doing interesting things with other boys.

I love what I love and I never deny it anymore. I got to the point when I realized that all of my self-imposed rules and lies and things I was ashamed of were really rather silly. They were also making me sick with stress. So now if you wanna know what I like all you have to do is ask. I'm totally honest these days.
No more denial.

I was in denial was for
yuri
i hated to admit that I liked yuri
but yeah got over that .
For yaoi
I truly embraced
since I only started off with shounen-ai
and worked my self up
or rather down cool
but since yuri was mostly hentia
I started out just seeing the porn
and not shoujo ai
whee
meh
all I know is that now I enjoy both
