Chocolate Chip Cookie halted perhaps thirty feet from Cartoun, stood firm, and let out a high strong call. Cartoun, why were you so far away? Come to me now, I am your Montezumalth, and you are worthy.
For a moment her sister's choice seemed to distract Devil's Food Cake, or perhaps she was just catching her breath from getting out of her shell. Either way as the newest Impression was made she stretched luxuriantly and then slunk purposefully towards the candidates, right towards Turanves and Tordare in fact, and in front of the siblings she came to a halt, lay down comfortably in the sand, and looked upward expectantly. Well?

A dragonet had laid in front of them! Why were they such a popular stop? Every one seemed to stop or stare at them. This one didn’t seem like she’d be moving any time soon. Did that mean she was Turanves’ dragon?
“Can I pet you?” Tordare blurted at the dragonet. He hadn’t dared with the others but this one was different. She was watching them.

S'var 11
"I think it will be a good one too," S'var replied to Leiya with a chuckle. As for V'ine, he didn't know what could be said that hadn't already been said and it was only with an effort of will that he didn't give her a worried glance for the repeated question. Instead he said; "For the short term I'm sure they will want the greens to clutch but long term, who can say? It would be hard in a Pass, but I don't know if they would give them free choice or set a quota of some kind."
And then Chocolate Chip Cookie Impressed, and S'var couldn't help but grin to see it relatively close up. "Another one safe," he murmured to his companions, and safe without injuring anyone too!

Candidate Turanves
He shook his head with a shrug. He didn't know, except that it wasn't one of them. Turan waited as he continued to keep his eyes on the bronze and brown. He'd thought for sure the brown would have found his rider by now given the determined nature of the hatchling. From the sounds in the stands, he guessed that green had finally found her rider.
Turanves was suddenly taken aback when another green hatchling approached them. Not only did she come near, but laid down practically at their feet. He wore a bizarre expression on his face as she stared up at them.
He hissed softly at his brother, when Tordare asked to pet her. "Is she yours?" She didn't seem angry. He knew Tordare had been worried about that. Turan tried to sort his feelings that his brother had impressed to a green. He'd hoped......

V'ine applauded the new greenrider. "Congrats!" She called to Cartoun with a broad grin. She shook her head at S'var, "sorry." She just needed to focus on the hatching right now, and not worry about other things.

The Devils Food green gave Tordare a dismissive look and lashed her tail slightly, if he touched her right now she would make sure he regretted it but she was pleased that he had noticed her - she desired that, to be noticed, to be acknowledged to be as lovely as she knew she was. Getting to her feet once more she transferred her attention to the other brother, the one paying more attention to Tordare than he was to her.
She did not like that he was not looking at her.
Her tail started to twitch.

The green did not want to be petted. Tordare was disappointed, but not stupid enough to press the idea. He took a step back. “You’re a beautiful green,” he offered.
“Is she yours?” He asked Turanves. “She’s not mine.”

Candidate Turanves
She didn't seem pleased by his brother's off to pet her. Which was strange, he thought. Then she got up and fixed her eyes on him. Oh no. He took a small step back. "uh.... nice.... dragon..."
Turan shook his head a little. "Of course she's not mine." If she wasn't for Tordare, then he couldn't possibly see why she was around them.

Of course? Why was it of course?Devil's Food crouched low and her eyes began to shift through to orange. Bronze, that was what he wanted wasn't it? She remembered, oh yes she remembered. Well, she would soon have his attention even without the gleaming hide he wanted so badly!
Devil's Food snarled and launched herself jaws open at Turanves' arm.

If she wasn’t Turny’s... Tordare swallowed and reached for his brother’s hand but the green was faster. Shards!
“Get away from him!” He said. He wanted to shove her away, anything to make sure Turan was alright. “Don’t hurt him!” He was probably too late for that one. Shard it all, what did his brother do to deserve this?

Candidate Turanves
There wasn't much he could do, except brace himself, in the split second he saw her jaws open to reveal her sharp pointed teeth and she launched her dark green body at his arm. He heard his brother yell something, but it was blotted out by the pain in his arm. Turan gave a yell as her jaws closed on his arm. He gave a couple instinctive shakes trying to dislodge her as blood began to drip down his hand.

A cry from the sands caught her attention. One of the dark greens had latched onto a boy. What had happened? V'ine wondered. The hatching had been going so smoothly. He upset her. Came her green's comment.

Stupid sharing green! She was hurting Turanves. The boy who’d taken care of him when their parents had died, the brother who’d gotten him a firelizard. “Stop hurting my brother,” he demanded. Could he...could he make her stop? She wasn’t too big, but she was strong. Would Turan be angry at him for risking it?
“Go Impress and leave us alone!” He kicked sand at her.

A hug? Why certainly! The blue was perfectly happy to fulfil the candidate's request. He shuffled closer and seemed to almost puff up his chest in preparation for his hug. A commotion had Strawberry Tart's head whipping around, yellow concern swirling into his eyes. Oh no, this wasn't good. No. That wasn't his concern. Sister must have her reasons, he needed to maintain things here. The blue turned back to Joisann and put forward his best, happy, mental presence. Yes, never mind that. Your hug. The little blue remained upright, looking up at the candidate, even as he was incapable of pushing the worried flecks of yellow out of his eyes.

Lemon Drizzle's head swivelled to take in the sight of his sister lunging at a candidate. For a moment he didn't seem to react. Not until the actions of another candidate caught his focus. Giving a shriek of rage Lemon Drizzle erupted into motion, leaving the clutch for the first time and making like an arrow loosed from a bow towards the candidates. He skidded to a halt in front of Tordare, placing himself firmly between the candidate and the angry green, his own eyes swirling a violent red. Lips peeled back to reveal more sharp teeth as a fierce hiss was aimed at the candidate. Lemon Drizzle would not tolerate that sort of behaviour towards his siblings. In that moment he didn't care what the candidate's reasoning was. He had seen a foot kicked in his sister's direction and nothing else was important so far as he was concerned.

Red Velvet let out a surprised cheep, his step faulting as Devil's Food lunged for a candidate. That wasn't how this was supposed to go. The blue quickly hurried his way over to the commotion, his gaze taking on streaks of yellow as he looked between all the parties. Someone needed to do something about this, but who? The commotion was loud enough that it was easy to miss Blueberry Muffin as she shuffled back among the eggs, the green ducking behind the much larger Cheese and Wine. No way was she getting into all of that. It was also just as easy to miss as Roulade led his chosen away from the candidates, as graceful as ever, even in the face of all this stress.
Oh no, sister was so angry. Sticky Toffee Pudding stopped in her preening, letting out a quiet whine. She pushed herself closer to Zirza's legs. That boy, he had upset her sister! On their hatching day! Why would he be so mean? It wasn't fair. The little green gave another distressed whine, coiling herself up tighter. this wasn't right at all!
ChaosTheories
Tiramisu stopped in his tracks, a short distance from the candidates. The brown dragon straightened up, his grumpy mood melting away as concern overwhelmed him. He didn't want this to happen! Shenanigans were one thing! He had expected his siblings to decide that being playful was more important than getting on with the task as hand, but now people were getting hurt! As the brown looked around, a low whimper escaped his throat. This was wrong! All wrong! Everything was going wrong and he didn't know what to do! Tiramisu's motions became more and more frantic as he spun around looking for a solution, working himself into an even greater frenzy.
He needed help.
He needed-
Kakaw! The brown dragon called across the sands as his eyes finally settled on the candidate. It didn't matter that the lad was stood next to someone who looked exactly like him. To the dragon they were as different as night and day. Kakaw, help me! Your Caffieth doesn't know what to do! I need you! The rainbow eyed dragon called out, feeling suddenly very alone out on the sands. He needed his boy. Kakaw was the only one he would ever need.
Shahaeran smiled as she looked over the happenings. Dragons everywhere! It was beautiful, even if none of them might be hers. Some were hatching and moving through the candidates right away, others seemed to be stopping to investigate favorites or... hehe, even helping their siblings hatch! Cute! She couldn't help noticing that the brother pairs were popular stop spots. Kakar, Kakaw, Turanves, and Tordare seemed rather well-visited, and those leaving their company ranged in attitude. Huh... Wonder if a song would help some of those moods? Shah's mind snapped to attention when a brown's invasive thought commanded she dismiss that thought and keep control of the flute she was barely allowed to have on the sands anyways, and she kind of pouted at him. Well... He was right, honestly,, but... Still. A song- No? Fine... Shah stifled a sigh as she looked out at the others. A bronze spent time examining her allies, Kakar and Kakaw, then moved her way to investigate her flute, and her heart spilled over with emotion. She couldn't help a pitch in her voice, even as she remembered she would eventually share everything, whether with a dragon or a husband... depending on how things went. She bent gently and lifted the flute for the bronze to inspect. "It's for music. See, you blow here, and sound comes out here." She pointed at the holes respectively, then gave a little note to demonstrate. After a moment, she offered the blowing-side to the dragon and held up the flute. "You want to try?" Her mind raced over the 'babies can't flame, right?' train of thought as she tried to remember when that training happened.
Shah was also aware of Chocolate Chip Green wandering about. She wasn't pointedly ignoring the dragon, and Shah sincerely hoped she knew that. All seemed okay on that front, shortly, though. It didn't seem as though she belonged to Chocolate Chip Green, anyways, as another candidate's suggestion sent her looking through the medics, and then the stands. She giggled at the reaction of the crowd, sure they'd be fine. And then, as she returned to her... would that be apprentice, if the bronze took an interest? What would her harpermaster think of that?! She shook her head, she returned her attention to the bronze in front of her. The others would hatch whether she was attending them or not, and they'd come to her if they wanted to.

At first it seemed Tordare wouldn’t back down. He glared at the dragonet that’d come to stop him. “You only care cause she’s your sister. But she’s hurting my brother. Make her stop hurting him if you won’t let me!”
But dragons were stronger and scarier and even newborns had flesh tearing teeth. He took a step back. “Make her stop hurting him,” he insisted. “He didn’t do anything.”
