Choir of Happiness (1x1 Murder Mystery)

Taking what Syn mentioned that the supervising nurse might still be around, he'll let the officer know once they come back. While he didn't realize the hollow sound when he was knocking on the walls, when Syn mentioned it the sound, Morgan perked up a bit as he looks at where Syn found a secret door. "Don't open it." he warned Syn before the vines could do anything to the door as he walked up to it knocking again just to make sure. As the wall sounded hollow from Morgan knocking on it, he checked around it to make sure there isn't anything suspicious that may indicate something else, a trap, a hidden spell, etc. When there wasn't much to note on, Morgan finds a way to open it. A slight push was all that's needed as the door loosens up with a click, when he opens the door, it was quite dark inside but Morgan could tell there's something inside as he uses his phone's flashlight function to see inside, there he sees a lock of gold hair as the figure inside was sound asleep.

"Seems like we found Sai." Morgan said in relief though as he looked at the hidden room, it seems to be something he's seen before while working in the CIA. "It was a potential kidnapping, whoever planned this must've been someone who earned Sai's trust, rooms like these would've been placed while the room was empty. They'd ask the kid to stay in here, once everyone is busy trying to look for him, the kidnapper would sneak him out. I'm glad to see we were able to find him before his kidnapper came back." Morgan said as he crawls inside to carry the boy out. "I hate to do this, but, if his kidnapper is still out and about, they'll still think we're looking for Sai." Morgan pats Sai on the head while he's still sleeping, laying Sai down on the bed, Morgan began to think for a bit as he looks at Syn, Morgan wonders if Syn's thinking what he's thinking. "Hmm, up for hunting a hunter, Syn?"


Ooc: Nah you kiddin'? Morgan has bad hearing so he couldn't hear anything that's hollow.

"Thank gaia." Syn replied in relief when he saw the little one was unharmed. When Morgan placed him down on the bed, he wenr to tell the parents that thier son had been found. The two parents all but rushed into the room to see him but Syn' s glare clearly said "wake him up and I will kick you out" which was pretty imdimidating to say the least bit the relief on thier face when they saw thier sleeping son made hisbgaze soften before turning back to Morgan. "Yeah. Awfully convenient this happened when Nurse Sage was suppose to be on duty." He all but growled. "And before you ask that it may not be her, the tramp's aura is all over him, Morgan." he added, a tone of disgust creeping in his voice. This was an all new kind of low. What would a grown woman want with a child? He really didn't want to entertain that thought. He was already pissed. He was just happy that the boy was unharmed. Though the parents looked gutted that someone they trusted would do this to them. He looked over at Morgan once again when he asked him if he was ready for a hunt. "Oh, you couldn't stop me, detective." he replied without hesitation. Someone was going to pay.

When the officer arrived, Morgan gave him some instructions to follow as he leaves the room once again. "Alright, we should all leave the room without leaving." Morgan stated as he takes out four scrolls out of his satchel handing them to everyone except Sai as he takes out another scroll. "I may not be affluent in magic casting, but spell scrolls are useful and to catch a predator who uses magic, you use the same magic they can cast. Something my little brother would often say after his years in wizardry." Morgan said as he opens the scroll that was placed on Sai's bed as he turns invisible and his bed seeming empty. He reassured everyone that Sai was still there when he used his phone's flashlight app as Sai appears again though seeming transparent. "Alright everyone hold out your scrolls and I'll whisper a command into them, when I count to three, open your scrolls and stand at a corner facing the center of the room." Morgan instructed as he's seen whispering something into his scroll, soft words can be heard but they sound more like a different language entirely. Once he was done, he waited for everyone else to hold out their scrolls.

Syn was surpeised but he somehow got the gist of what Morgan was trying to do and accepted the scroll, looking at it closely and couldn't help but admire how well done the magic was. These were really useful if used correctly. He watched a demonstration by Morgan and inwardly smirked. Oh, yes. This was a very good plan and he could not wait to get his hands on that nurse. He ignored how his own magic responded to the magic in the scroll, pulling by it back when it got to curious and did as he was told. He held out the scroll, curious himself to see what would happen. He made a mental note to ask about Morgan's brother and what kind of magic user he was. Well, what type of wizard he was anyway as the magic he felt from the scroll was quite fascinating. He also decided that he was going to need a strong drink after this ordeal. A very strong drink.

When everyone else held their scrolls in front of them, Morgan tapped his on theirs making them glow a bit before the scrolls' light faded away. As he counted to three and everyone opening their scrolls, the piece of parchment that was once in their hands turned to mist as it flowed upwards, before long, exact clones of both the parents, Morgan, and Syn as they appeared in front of themselves like a mirror. The clones bowed to their originals before turning their attention to Morgan, looking at his own clone, he adjusted the scarf and fixed his hair as well as straighten his glasses. "There we go." with a pleased tone in his voice, Morgan patted his clone's shoulder as it stood beside him. As the parents' clones approached, Morgan did the same adjusting their appearance until he's pleased with their clones' look. Then as Syn's clone approached Morgan, he looked at the original Syn then at the clone. Fixing the clone's hair and fixing the it's uniform, Morgan could help it as he patted the clone's head as it smiles brightly which made Morgan chuckle a bit. "Alright, everyone's all ready, clones you know what to do." seeing that everything is all set, the clones nodded as they began to walk on out of the room. "Alright guys, hug a corner and don't move too much, the scroll that I used on Sai affects the room, anyone that isn't moving will become invisible. Once nurse Sage enters the room, don't move until she approaches the hidden room, and Syn, try not to maim her, I know she deserves it, but prison is enough." letting everyone know what to do next as well as telling Syn to take it easy once they do catch nurse Sage as Sai's kidnapper.

Syn looked on his surprise as he got a clone of himself. Well, damn. This was some pretty damn good magic. He would have to ask Morgan about it whenever they got the chance after this. He watched in amusement as his own clone walked over to Morgan, where said male proceeded to fix his hair and his uniform before watching his beam at the detective. He had to blink at that as that was unexpected. He shook his head before looking over at Morgan, listening to what he was saying as the clones walked out of the room. This was going to be very interesting as he took the corner by the secret room. He wanted to be the first one to catch Nurse Sage with his magic. "I make no promises." he replied to Morgan's statement before making himself comfortable in his little corner. "By the way, we might want to get into place as I can feel Sage approaching." He added quietly but making sure that everyone heard him before becoming still
He would not maim the woman, who he had trusted with the children but he would make sure that she would never work near children or a hospital again. He made a mental note to curse the woman as well before stilling even more when he heard the click-clack of heels getting closer to the room.

Nurse Sage

When a nurse walked it, she must've been nurse Sage as what Syn told everyone, Sai's parents occupied one corner while Morgan was at a corner close to the door room. Everyone who's by the corner had already become invisible the moment the door opened as Morgan kept track of everything. No one could see one another though, so hoping that everything goes according to plan, Morgan had his phone out recording the incident. For Syn to confront Sage and get a confession out of her once she opens the hidden door only to find no one inside, it'll be enough to put her behind bars as she'd have knowledge of the hidden room's existence and no one else. Unknowingly outside, the clones had done their part as the officers were close by pretending to check the visitors list.

Syn watched as the nurse strutted into the room and over to the secret door. He watched as she opened it and gasped when she found there was no one there. "Are you looking for something, Sage?" he asked caually, stepping out of the corner, startling her. "S-Syn. What are you doing here?" she asked, suddenly nervous and doing a pretty damn bad job of hiding it. "Well, I was just hanging out with the kids when I find out that a child is missing and that you were in charge of him. How convenient he just ups and disappers on your shift, hm?" he replied, crossing his arms a d not falling got Sage's act. Sage, on the other hand laughed and t wasn't a pleasant sound. "I should have known that you would figure it out, druid. Yes, I took Sai. Chidren like him catch a pretty high price on the market. And if I coukdn't sell him, I would raise him to be a perfect little slave." She replied in a sinister voice, unawre that she was being filmed. Syn shook his head. "You're sick and I am going to enjoy taking you down." he said before using his magic to summon vines to wrap and trapped the woman against the wall, making sure they left marks that would burn for quite a while. "You get all that Morgan?" he asked, turning to the detrctive's direction and watching as Sage's faced paled as she struggled to be free but the vines only cling tighter. Yeah. Not going to happen.

A whistle was heard as everyone became visible, Morgan stopped recording as he got whatever he needed for evidence. "Nurse Sage, my name is Detective Morgan and I'm here working with the St. Arcadia Police department." He said as he walked up to Sage, holding out a blacklight as he flashed it at her making sure she didn't use some sort of illusion spell, she didn't appear to have used a spell as Morgan puts the blacklight away. "You're under arrest for the attempted kidnap and illegal slave trade of a child." stating her charges as the officers from outside walked in as they began to read her rights handcuffing nurse Sage when they took her out of the vines. Sending the video to one of the officers, Morgan nodded for them going through with the plan. Crossing his arms, Morgan looked at the now former nurse in disgust. "The fact that you're targeting children who've been hospitalized, that's more terrible than the rest who are in illegal trafficking." he sounded a tad bit angry but kept his cool as he allowed the parents to hug Sai as they shielded him from Sage's sight, "Book her officer." Morgan said as the officers escorted the nurse out of the room.

"She may not have operated by herself though." he thought for a second as he turned to the parents, "Don't worry, we'll make sure no other families suffers from something like this, we'll find her accomplices and put them behind bars for good." he reassures that the police department will do whatever it takes after finding one trafficker, though the thought that Sage might be involved with or knows a few who're involved in some missing children cases, Morgan texted the chief giving him a heads up and something to follow up on once the suspect arrives at the station. Looking at Syn, Morgan smiled a bit at the young healer's bravery for Sai and the children giving him a pat on the shoulder. "Well normally someone who might be a suspect would play innocent, I guess her confidence made her feel like she can get away with it." Still Morgan shook his head that a nurse would attempt to kidnap a child, yet alone sell him on the market. The clones came back in as they approached their originals, they didn't had much to say but their expressions seem to reflect on curiosity towards their originals.

Sage couldn't say anything as the vines were wrapped around her mouth but she glared at them hatefully, well, Syn specifically but it didn't matter. Syn just gave her a smile and a wave as she was cuffed and hauled away. Good riddance. He shook his head, wondering how someone like Sage could get through the screening process of the hospital. It made him sick to think about what that woman had planned for that child. Syn looked over to Morgan with a small smile. "Yeah. People like her get overconfident and it's thier downfall." he replied as he watched the two parents hug thier those now awake child who looked confused but returned the gesture anyway. Crisis averted! He noticed the clones approaching them and he also noticed that his clone was standing a bit close to Morgan was was just a tad bit suspicious. Why were they so close like that? He was about to ask Morgan when his phone went off, startlimg him just a bit. He pulled it out to see that Valari had sent a text about capturing two suspicious people lurking in the hospital parking lot with a car. He told Morgan about it before thanking the vampire a d made another note to make him his favorite dessert as a thank you.

"Well I know it should be a moment for celebration, but there are others out there who still deal in human trafficking. We may have arrested one group, but, who knows Sage might be a member of a larger ring." Morgan rubbed the back of his neck as if preparing himself incase something big comes out of this. Sai is safe which is more important now, although Morgan felt that this situation may cause some trouble in the future. When Syn's clone was standing close to Morgan's clone, the original Morgan clapped his hands together grabbing the attention of everyone, though for the clones, they lined up in front of him. As they stood there as if waiting for Morgan to do something, he pat the shoulders of the parents' clones as they smiled before turning into mist and falling to the ground.

Now it was Morgan and Syn's clones that's up next, but instead of a pat on the shoulder, they get a pet on the forehead as Morgan ruffled their hair a bit, Syn's clone let out a quiet titter while Morgan's clone blushed from the fatherly affection the original Morgan showed as they then turned into mist and vanishing just like the clones of Sai's parents. Morgan then turned to Syn rubbing his back, "You did good Syn, maybe if you decide to switch jobs you can always work towards becoming a police, might even become a detective one of these days." Morgan smiled though he seemed to unconsciously ruffle Syn's hair and took notice later on, nonchalantly patting Syn on the shoulder and went on to finish up with police work getting a text from the other officers when they met up with Valari and arrested the two suspects he caught. "Think the cafeteria food is good here?" Morgan asked as it's already past evening.


Ooc: Well for this moment, it may appear that it's the end, however, good things don't happen that easily. This feels like the first part of an episode, though I don't know if human trafficking could involve any race... Elf trafficking? Maybe Sage is a member of a much bigger ring of traffickers and if she's interrogated, that would be a cause for concern for whoever Sage is working for. They might attack the squad car she's in or cut loose ends, which Morgan will have to take part in the case. Syn might even take part because it might be someone he knows who might've gone missing long before Morgan arrived.

Syn just sighed, shaking his head. "Times like this, I want a very strong drink but i know better." he replied after a minute. "Most likely. I wouldn't put it past her to be part of a larger ring." he added in afterthought. He watched as the clones dissolved into must and reaffirmed his mental notes to ask more about that. But for now, he left it alone before turning to Morgan. "Thanks. I'd think about it." he said with a small laugh before stretching his arms. He blushed slightly when Morgan ruffled his hair, but he stamped it down viciously as he then patted him on the shoulder. He blinked at the question before shrugging. "Depends on what you get but for the most part the food is awesome. Just stay away from the mystery meat." he replied after a second. "I'll show you where it is. Just let me clock out first." he added after a moment, walking over to the board from before, getting a time sheet and then clocking out. Each room on the floor had one. "There." he said after a second before walking back to Morgan.

Morgan chuckled when Syn warned him about the mystery meat that's served in the cafeteria. "Well I'd invite you to dinner at my place but considering I don't have a car might as well grab a meal here while I'm at it." Morgan said as he'd follow Syn to the hospital's cafeteria. "My brother and his wife would be joining us for dinner. Afterwards I'll be heading back to the precinct with him, my brother can drop you off at your place if you need a ride home." Morgan informed Syn about who's joining them in the cafeteria, it's the first for Morgan to consider eating in a hospital as he wonders what's on the menu. Looking at Syn from behind though, Morgan had a slight thought as to why the nurses uniform are much different from a few other hospitals. "Does your boss make you guys wear that uniform? I know they look nice and you look cute wearing it, but medical scrubs are more comfortable and they give more mobility." He asked Syn and questioning the uniform standards of this hospital.

Syn just shrugged. "That's okay. Maybe next time. If not then you can come over to mine. I'm an excellent cook." he replied as he lead the other male to the open cafeteria. "That's fine. I would be honored to meet your brother and wife." he added with a smile. It would give him a chance to pick his brother's brain about those clones. "Ah. Sure. I could use a ride." he said before gesturing to the cafeteria. "This is it." he clamied as he gestured to the open area with a smile. "The menus are on the wall and there's a lot to choose from, so I'm sure you'll find something you all like." he said, once again gesturing to the menus posted up around them. Syn shook his head at the question, once again fighting down a blush at being called cute. "Thanks for the compliment but it's just me that wears this type of uniform. But I do wear scrubs when helping with surgery and such." he replied as he looked around for a place that would sit four people. "Would a booth by the window be okay?" he asked after a moment before long back at Morgan for his response.

"That should be alright." Morgan replied with a nod as he examines the interior, it's simple yet rather nice and comfortable. Maybe his little brother might like having a meal here. "Well my brother and his wife should be here soon, they're just finding a place to park, we can go ahead and order ." Morgan eyeballed the menu wondering what to get before placing an order. Not really sure what to get, Morgan looked at Syn as if wondering what he'll get, but he wouldn't wanna bother Syn with something he can do himself. Looking back at the menu board, Morgan could go for a pasta dish they're serving. Waiting for Syn, looked at his phone to find a text his brother sent as they're on their way to the café.
