Thanking Hydreigon for letting him catch Ponyta Simon settled back in to read on the next 'ghost master' Phoebe part of the Hoenn Elite Four. She was known to use almost all pure ghost Pokemon and her grandmother has a house in Mt. Pyre where a lot of Ghosts in Hoenn roam wild. Another Onix appeared which Hydreigon blasted back again.

The next Pokemon was Zubat and it was once again taken down. Looking into the Pokenav Simon figured Phobe might be a great bet to reaching the Legendary Pokemon or even have knowledge on the birth of a ghost Pokemon. Another Geodude appeared which Hydreigon easily fought and defeated. Simon had two other Ghost experts to look into, the second to last one was a gym leader of Hearthome City here in Sinnoh. She was the last person he would go to though considering that she was more into Contests over Gym Battles. She still returned to her gym to take on trainers she seemed to be more involved in the contest community which was fine but he didn't want to bother her.

All the training seemed to bring out other types, finally, as another Kricketot appeared before them. The attack was done and the Pokemon defeated though so Simon went back to looking up the last Elite Four member, well technically could be last since the trainer decided the order of battle, who used Ghost Pokemon, Shauntal of Unova's Pokemon League. She was actually an author of many fictional books, a few that Morgan had, not the steamy kinds but good books with a great plot. Luckily she, along with other Elite Four members, often would visit Cynthia in Undella Town, so he should go there first in order to see if she was on a break from the Elite Four.

For some reason there was a wild Ponyta down here as well. Of course they had moved into a larger tunnel area but still it was a strange sight. Still Simon already caught one so he let Hydreigon continue to train while he picked up a borrowed pickaxe and began to search for fossils. Thanks to needing to earn money to send back home he was no slouch when it came to manual labor.

Hydreigon wanted to help but at the same time more wild Pokemon were appearing. Simon told him that he could help by defeating the new Pokemon that arrived and protecting him. Once again Ponyta were back in full force in the tunnels. Rising Simon told Hydreigon to knock them out fast so that they could be released outside of the cave if that's where they belonged. When Simon pictured Ponyta he saw them running around in the fields in the open air, not down here in the mine. Unsure if there was another way into the tunnels and the horses got down here he returned to the task of mining.
