[-][1x1][L-N+] Walls and Silence (with Rent_junkie)

"That would be nice," Olan answered, sluggishly getting back on his feet. At least he didn't have to sleep here.

"Ok."

He helped him to his office.

Olan leaned against Marco for support, not wanting to fall again. He smiled inwardly, as if he just thought of something nice. Perhaps he did. After all, how many pets have owners who knew exactly what they wanted or needed?

They came to his office and Marco helped him lay down.

"Sleep tight."

He sat down at his desk and began to work.

Olan curled up on the couch and made himself comfortable, falling asleep only moments later.

In his dreams, he could hear. The chirps of the birds, the murmurs of a stream, and even what he imagined his voice to sound, he could hear them all. There was a wetness on his face that suggested he was crying. Oh, how he missed sound.

Someone came into Marco's office and he ordered the man to bring him two sandwich and some water. After the man left Marco realized Olan was crying. He went over to him and wiped his tears. e didn't seem upset though so he didn't want to wake him.

Suddenly, everything went quiet. The sky turned red, the grass died, and Olan was alone... and deaf. He should be hearing his own breathing. He had been hearing it onlg moments ago! A wetness trickling out of his ears told him the truth, however. He shouldn't hear. He was deaf.

"No... No! I want to hear! I want to hear!" Had he screamed? He didn't know. He COULDN'T tell!

Marco shook his gently to wake him up. "Are you ok?" He signed to him.

Olan was sure he had woken up in tears, since Marco had been looking at him with what could only be concern. Not bothering to amswer, he reached up and clung tightly to his caretaker, his body shaking with what he could assume were sobs.

Marco sat with him on the couch and held him close rubbing his back.

Eventually, Olan managed to calm down at least enough to stop sobbing. He was a bit glad he could not hear his own crying. It probably sounded terrible.

Marco continued to hold him and rub his back. He was glad that he was calming down.

"I didn't bother you, did I?" Olan managed to sign when he was finally calm enough to communicate.

"No. Are you ok? What happened?" He signed back.  

[BrokenScreamBox]

"Nightmare," was Olan's only reply. He didn't feel like going into details.
