Sage had stopped right at the edge of the pond still a good ways before Jet. She had just begun slowly walking across the lake when Jet whizzed past her a few feet passed Bob and Raven. Bob and Raven were to busy falling on to either trying to get up to notice. Sage pushed her self across the ice quickly but with care. " Jet are you okay!?" she said in a frightened whisper when she reached him. Sage helped him up it took great effort on both of their parts to get Jet standing, the ice was slick and they both almost fell down again. After a few minutes they were both safely standing over a thick patch of ice. Sage gave him a big hug and exclaimed
"I'm glad you're okay! I was afraid you were on a thin patch of ice! Thank goodness you weren't! If you had gotten hurt it would have been all my fault! I'm sorry."
Sage rested her head on his shoulder and held him close. Her heart begin to beat faster, after she had realized what she had done. But she didn't want to let go despite her insecurities screaming at her to. No! He doesn't like you, he'll break your heart! Don't tell him! She slowly moved her feet so that they were both slowly sliding together across the ice.
After they got situated Bob pointed them out to Raven. "How adorable."
"It's sweet...Too sweet like melted sugar." Raven added in a low voice.

Jet Black

Jet returned the embrace, feeling his feet sliding across the ice as they did. He heard one of the comments of her friends, and looked up.

The sudden shift caused him to lose his balance on the ice again though. He took a step back, landing hard on his foot. He heard a slight creaking noise, but it was light, and shortly after, it stopped, and there was nothing more. "Sorry," he said.

He wrapped his arms around her again. He nuzzled her hair, and whispered to her. "Um, Sage . . . I have something I wanted to ask you . . . "

The snow slowly drifted around them as the breeze tousled Sages hair. Sages cheeks were a shade of pink from the cold and melted snow was running down her face. It was unreal how many new feelings and experiences happened to her all in one day. Everything had all seemed to hit her at once. When jet pulled her close her heart skipped a beat. When he moved is face in her hair she tightened her embrace. The moment was so meaningful, and magical So perfect. She felt that she belonged this colse to Jet. thoughts reran the events of the day, and she caught something she hadn't noticed at the time. In the car, Jet had been crying...For her. He cared about her.

The fear of her feelings maybe even love started to melt way. He had been flirting with her. Not like a friend would. Realization flooded through her as Jet spoke, Was he going to ask her to be...his..girlfriend? Sage smiled as they moved forward sliding on the ice. Before she had a chance to respond the ice gave way under her feet. The shock of the freezing water caused her to gasp. Instead of air a frigid stream of liquid filled her lungs, as she sunk deeper into the pond. Sage coughed uncontrollably, her bodies attempt to empty her lungs of water was futile. She writhed and struggled underneath the ice, her mind unable to process a course of action.
" ********! GREEN!"
"Oh, my god! SAGE!"
Bob and Raven shouted fearfully as they began heading over to Jet who was now standing by a small hole Sage sized hole in the ice.

Jet Black

Jet was in the water before he really understood what had happened. The water was cold, but he didn't care. It couldn't be this way, not again. He dove deeper, had the current swept her down stream? He saw bubbles rising, she was directly below him!

He dove down, letting little bubbles of air out of his lungs to keep the air in his lungs a little agitated. She was reaching up toward him, the panic obvious in her eyes. He reached for her once, but just missed, she continued to sink.

He let all of the air out of his lungs, sinking faster. Now his lungs started to burn. He was able to grab her the second time, but her arms were limp. He pulled her up and tried to swim to the surface. His vision was starting to blacken. He felt something hit his hand. It was the ice at the surface. He felt for the hole, and rose up as soon as his arm broke the surface. He came up gasping for air.

Raven was sitting on the ice freaking out. Bob gazed into the hole trying to see if Jet found her. Raven jumped a little and scooted back as Jets hand hit the ice underneath her. They both let out a sigh of relief as Jet emerged up through the hole. Bob pulled Sage out of the water first and placed her motionless body on the ice. He grabbed a hold of Jets arms and helped him climb out of the water. Sage lay on her back, her wet dark locks spread around her pale form. Bob sat down next to Sage tears running down his face. He felt her wrist for a pulse, there was one present but it was very weak. Bob put his head on her chest.
" ********! She's not breathing!" Bob pushed his hands on her chest and began giving her CPR.
" ******** breathe! Green breathe!" Bob cupped his mouth over hers and breathed into her. Sages form remained motionless, her pulse began to fade. "It's not working!"

A bright white light surrounded her fading minds eye. The image of jets mouth moving against hers kept playing over and over again. She ran towards the image her hands out reached ,but black tendrils of shadow wrapped themselves around her, and slowly pulled her struggling form away.

Jet Black

Jet was pacing back and forth, rubbing his arms to fight the freezing cold air, drying the water on his skin. He was getting anxious.

No, no no! Not again . . . this can't happen again! Jet grew tired of pacing and pushed Bob out of the way. "Here, watch out."

He leaned down and started giving mouth to mouth. He sat up and pushed on her chest a few times. It didn't seem to be working, tears started flowing down his cheeks, but his wet skin hide them.

Then again, he came down to her mouth . . .

The light from the image grew brighter and dissolved the shadows. The two of them, Sage and Jet were floating surrounded completely in white.
Jet leaned in and put his mouth over hers. Sages eyes flashed open, she was back in reality. Her chest heaved up as a large amount of water shot out of her lungs and poured out of her mouth. Sage coughed violently, her body jerked around as she did. Her chest hurt really bad and her head was pounding with a dull pain. Bob held on to Sages cold wet hand, "Green...Thank god..." He wiped off his tears with his free hand
Sage's eyes didn't leave Jet's face that was once again only an inch from hers.
"I'm listening..." she finally responded, in a hoarse voice.
Raven looked up from her knees. "She's okay!"

Jet Black

Jet couldn't help himself, he leaned down and gathered her in a hug. He started crying freely. "Oh . . . god . . . you're ok . . . "

He rocked back and forth with her like he had in the car. He was so relieved. She hadn't died. Did he beat the curse? Or was it because he hadn't told her yet? Or did he even tell her . . . he didn't know.

All he knew was she was alive, and at this point, it was all that mattered.

Soon Sage was surrounded by everyone hugging and fussing over her.
"Guy's some air please? " She croaked.
Everyone but Jet backed off. Realization flooded through her when she noticed jet was wet. He had saved her. Sage wrapped her arms around him, she couldn't find the words to describe her thanks.
"Um I don't think we should go to the movies like this." Sage said as squeezed water out of her hair.
Bob and Raven laughed in agreement they were glad she was back to her old self.

Jet Black

Jet was still crying, and he was glad that his face was already wet from the water. He was shocked when Sage wrapped his arms around him, not because it was unexpected, but rather because he was second guessing his own feelings. He knew that he was falling in love with her, but he didn't know if he should. He feared for her life, for this "curse" of his. He shook his head to clear his thoughts and stood, helping Sage stand with him.

"Maybe we should rent a movie and take it back to our place." He said. "My mother shouldn't mind." He knew that she wouldn't.

Bob raised an eyebrow." Our place huh? Already moving in green?"
Sage punched him in the arm. "No! Shut up Bob!"Her voice was still hoarse and squeaky from having inhaled a bunch of lake water.
Bob laughed teasingly. " Alright, alright Jeez."
"Um, yeah that sounds like a good idea... What movie do you wanna rent?"
Sage said to Jet making it a point not to acknowledge Bob. Sage liked he idea of watching a movie at his house, they could talk in the middle with out making strangers mad. And maybe she could sit next to him on the couch.
Raven raised her arm like she was a little kid trying to get teachers attention.
"Oh! Oh! I have Party Monster in the c-"
"We've seen that a million times I vote we figure it out when we get there." Bob interrupted with his left hand on his face.
"Alright lets get to shore...."Sage announced as shehooked her arm with Bobs then Jet's Raven hooked hers with Bob's and they headed to shore slowly together.

Jet was surprised as she hooked his arm, especially since he was still so confused. They all climbed in the SUV. Jet leaned down and whispered to Sage. "Are you sure you're ok? we can take you to the hospital." Sage was still soaked in water. She was wearing his jacket, and looked like she was cold.

He was rubbing her back, trying to help warm her up. "And . . . I think you should chose the movie . . . after all, we won't be going to see the movie you picked out."

At the mention of taking her to a hospital Sage looked down at the floor board , flashbacks of her mother with tubes and wires all over her in the white room made her shiver more than she already was. Sage opened her mouth to say, something but to her relief she was interrupted by Bob,
"Hospital's are a sore subject Jet. That's why we didn't suggest it before. She'll be fine. We'll just fix her up some hot tea and get her in to some dry threads."
When they reached the rental store, Sage picked two movies Garden State, and Little Nemo. She loaded up on gummy worms, and sour straws.
Bob picked out room 1408. Sage knew they weren't going to watch them all, but it gave her an excuse to have jet stay over longer tomorrow if they have a movie. Grandma would have to stay in her room to watch her shows..Unless she was going to be grounded from movies too, she was still unsure of how much trouble she was going to be in.

The SUV pulled in front front of Jets' house followed by Raven's yellow sedan.
"Alright kids we're home, and don't step on the lawn, it took me days to trim each blade evenly with grooming scissors." Bob announced in a fatherly tone.

Sage laughed, a squeaky laugh, at bob's silly joke.

Jet led the way through the door. His mother looked up from the couch in the other room. "Jet! You're back already?"

Jet nodded. "Yeah . . . we . . . uh . . . had a little incident. Do you have some spare clothes that would fit Sage?"

"Just a nightie and a robe, would that be ok?" She asked Sage.

Jet looked from His mom, to Sage, then back. "Um . . . all of us are going to watch a movie here, if that's ok?"

"That's fine," She said before turning back to Sage.

"More like horrific accident." Bob quipped as he walked through the door carrying the bag of movies and stuff in one hand and a huge bag of Halloween candy. Raven elbowed him in the stomah at his comment.
"Oof sorry."
"Um, that would be great Mrs. Black, as long as we can get these ones clean before I go to school. I'll get some looks walking around in a robe and Nightie at school."
Sage laughed her voice was still altered by the near drowning experience, she hoped it wasn't too noticeable. Sage didn't want Jet's mom to worry.
