Apparently not.

I'm also running into another issue, that I simply don't want to work my my Tyranids right now. gonk I have two shiny new squads of Cadians that are just sitting there, calling to me.

Update!

Macragge Gaunts Photos of two test gaunts I did. I missed a couple of moldlines when I started these quite some time ago, I'm going to leave them be for now and just not repeat the mistake with the others.

I find 'nids are really easy after painting the first 5 or 6, then it just becomes a process more then art.

Man, took me along time to get to this one.

I like the paint scheme. Don't know what it is exactly, but their skin (not the carapace) looks like it actually has quite a lot of tangible texture.

Paint scheme is Hivefleet Kraken standard. And honestly, the texture might be as much just from doing enough coats that the color is solid, might look better to the eye. I'm definitely going to work on a Bubonic Brown undercoat when I do the Tyrant.

I might be shelving 'Nids for a while and working on my Eldar again; I've been having a lot of success with them on Vassal. The only issue is, I don't have many/any of the units that I've used to be successful in the online game, nor the money to buy them (saving for a plane ticket).

Hm. I don't know, I'll drag my laptop over to my work desk and see what catches my eye to work on tonight.

Found a great guide on painting Gaunts, and I may try that technique for future models.

*sigh* Gotta update this properly soon. I finished a Farseer as a gift for someone, and I just got a Warwalker for Christmas, but I won't be able to work on anything for some time yet.

Alright, I should be able to work on models here, but I'm sure if I'll have the time or space to do so. I should know in the relatively near future; say, a week?

Argh I just had a flashback to seeing the 100 Nids I had to paint all those years ago...
took me ages, and with my skill at the crappy level it was, most came out badly rolleyes

Still.. I managed to sell them despite.
Yours are quite good, the colour seems to lack complete solidity, but I kinda like that with nids, imperfections add to a swarm [not to take away from a good job].

I just got a new camera from my parents for my birthday, a Nikon Coolpix L18, and this is the result of a quick 4" range shot with a paper backdrop and normal room lighting. I love it!

Remind me to borrow that camera when we meet IRL..
