Not necessarily. If you keep a journal (which I do), you keep a history of yourself. If you're a great enough person, you'll make an impression on many people's lives. If you're great enough (in a different way), such as finding cures, or leading troops, or being a conqueror, you have your face in the history books.

Yes I have, and it's boring. Once the world ends, all of that won't matter.
