Lice.... arghhh, that is the biggest drag teaching kids in the lower grades. Every year, I'll get one or two kids with Lice and then it spreads over the whole lower school. TRUE STORY: This year we had one little girl who had lice, the school's policy is that the parent cannot bring the child back unless the school nurse screens/approves the child's head. The parents are required to purchase and apply Lice Treatment to their child's head. Well, these parents didn't treat the child's head and attempted to bring the child back, the nurse checked the child's head, she didn't pass and sent the girl home. This went on for a couple of days before the nurse asked the girl's parents why they hadn't treated the girl, the parents insisted that they were treating the girl. The next day, the parents bring in the Lice treatment... it was a box of Advantage for Pets, they were squeezing flea treatment on the poor girl's head. When the nurse told me this I just about fell off my chair... turns out the parents are from the Phillipines, don't understand English too well, and just used what they used on the dog thinking it was the same thing. Seriously, this was the weirdest thing that I had ever heard but the nurse said that she gets all kinds of strange things with some parents and that this was nothing since they did try to help their daughter, just with the wrong thing.

Apparently it's running a strong course through the school right now... stare Wish they'd let me know this earlier. Hate those little critters stressed
Seems like we've gotten it under control, though my kids are a little tired of mom and the comb. *Attempts to straighten back and neck and loud popping noises can be heard.* gonk

Howdy, Roccee. I like your title, Mostlyjoe. I'm just the Royal Minister of Stuff.
I'm off to visit my mother for her big "I'll Be Getting Social Security This Year" Birthday and, I'd like to sincerely add, I am very happy I missed the lice discussion.

Hi everyone *tackles Harbone* great to see you again!
i've been extremely absent for some time i know *hangs head* i apologise redface
i moderate on another forum now and that keeps me rather busy, especially as we're currently preparing to ward off a huge 420chan raid evil
So i've seriously neglected my own guild and other moderator duties in others, forgive me? ninja
i often have a window open for Gaia, but i forget about it often enough, like i need to explain THAT to you guys lol

Hi just dropping by to say hello, I hate lice, and it was always frustrating when I was a kid, equally frustrating as a parent of kids and now as a grandma of kids....yeah I sound like a "nanny goat- Baaa"

Howdy and most excellent welcome you are, Jelly. Best of luck with your moderator duties abroad, as it were.
Is there, like, a puppet show or something I can do to distract you guys from the cooties conversation because, you know, I'm getting the heebie jeebies, here.

Perhaps if you could remember the name of the crazy rocker one from the muppets it would help... can't seem to remember it at all right now, though it's sitting right on the tip of my tongue. domokun
