Glad to see some new faces here, and always happy to see the regulars.
Yes, I am hoping the summer will bring some relief to the stuff 'n' nonsense life seems to be throwing out at all of us. In the meantime, I'm glad I have all of you here helping me out through it. heart

Lil-Jo Well, we currently have legal custody of Skye, there is a 90 day wait before we can finalize the adoption. At that time we will be giving her a new name, Jasmine. My husband has never had the chance to name a baby so this is his first time... We are starting to use that name now so she gets familiar with it. She is just starting to reconize some words (NO seems to be the only one that she hates so far). Best wishes on the adoption... my girlfriend just went through a similar situation where she was adopting her granddaughter but because her son's girlfriend changed her mind at the last minute it lead to a huge nightmare. Thankfully, the teenager came to her senses and my girlfriend was able to adopt the most beautiful baby in the world. She is now the proud momma of a beautiful one year old who she renamed Emma, a name she had hoped to give a daughter if she ever had one... now she does. God works in mysterious ways. heart

Sounds like it's been a pretty dramatic springtime for the Geezers. Not cool. Hope the pain is brief and the resolution easy-but-satisfying for you all.
Me, I'm still so wound up and beat down by my job that I can barely type at all when I get home! But that's just day-to-day stuff. Wish I could handle it, don't think I can... quite. I'm getting louder and more aggressive about what annoys me at work and that is NOT good staying employed policy. Self control problems, dont'cher know. Diarrhea of the mouth.
Today, however, I got ahold of a WHOLE BUNCH of sugar, and I didn't say anything... er... all that job-destroying. Which is a first, really.
So, Here I sit, surrounded by powdered sugar, brightly-colored wrappers and something sticky that I don't quite remember the original shape of and I think: whatever possessed me to check out three semi-religious DVDs from the library? Oooo... my head.
I'd also like to say that, whatever you do, you should NOT USE YOUR CREDIT CARD OR DEBIT CARD AT 7-11. Use cash there, seriously! They contracted with EDS for a similiar system ot the thing I'm stuck with and, not only is it likely to step over its own heels when processing an order, it's also damn near impossible to correct.
Anyway, enjoy your CASH-bought slurpies and gargle along with me as I add vaguely inappropriate answers to all our favorite games while surfing a major sugar high.

I can't wait for school to be finished... my students are driving me crazy. Every year, at this, the 8th graders go nuts because they know they are done and the lower grades are excited to be moving up. scream It is total chaos and my art room is a mess. xp This is when I begin to just hate my students because they leave all their crap in my room or they take off with half my supplies. sad Next week, I get to spend a lovely day cleaning my classroom by myself because although my students love to come to art they hate to clean up. It's quite like being a mum to 250 kids and none of them like doing their chores. Argghhh, I can't wait for summer... even if its only a 5 week break it's still time away from the wee brats. rofl

Ugh. A beautiful spring day spent cleaning up after someone else's kids? That's pretty bad.
You should plan something creative as a scream HORRIBLE SUPRISE scream for your sloppy students. Or leave the mess from the first hour as a project for the next hour's students. Teach them about Jackson Pollack or the idea of derriving order from chaos or some folk-arty thing.
I suspect you would need to requisition extra butcher paper, however.

Anybody good at Latin? I'm trying to make some silly mottoes and I'm having a bit of trouble with "Be Excellent to Eachother and Party on, Dudes!"
I do have "You're all just begging to face the Moose" pretty much sussed:
Moosem Obviam Ire Exorditas.
Actually, it should probably be Moosis Obivam Ire Exorditas, but Moosem just looked so much more Latin.

It just takes patience to wait it out. Sometimes lots of patience rolleyes . I tend to look at these things as a sale.

Did you know that a 9½ month old is a hand full?
This little monster has been walking around furniture for a couple weeks now pulling everything down... and everything goes into her mouth. She also has this annoying habit of screaming for everything you eat or drink, she seems to think she has a right to everything I want to eat or drink. She crawls up to me, pulls herself up, I pick her up and then she either wants right back down or she wants everything I have around me and I get tired of her grabbing and put her back down and she starts screaming to get back up.
She is quite the little monster, but we are loving every minute of it.

Sounds like you definitely have your hands full... huggles her from us.
Well, I have my grandma's place finished, all packed up and moved out and cleaned... we'll see if she gets her deposit back. Missed work yesterday as I was really stiff and sore from packing boxes around. To top it off, my youngest two come to me last night with itchy heads... argh! Needless to say, I'm home again today going through heads with a fine tooth comb. stare
Not what I wanted to deal with today, or any other day for that matter. gonk

Yuck... lice scream
When we moved to California my daughter was 10 with long blond hair... she ended up getting it 3 times shortly after we moved there. That was my only experience with lice and I hope I never see the stuff again.
