Well, Swindon doesn't only produce a malevolent chav underclass then.

Striped-shirt man unnerves me more than he is designed to, I fear.

That's Andy Partridge. He's normally the main singer and songwriter, but that one's a Colin Moulding number.

Here's another (earlier) gem:

Their later, poppier (and arguably better) music never seems to have such good videos.

I found that out when looking form the lyrics earlier today.

Never heard it though, which can only be a good thing.

Hm, it's certainly distinct from the newer ones...but I am holding Dear God as my favourite.

I'm not terribly keen on the video for Dear God. Apart from of course the bit at about 1:55 where the camera pans round as Andy looks up to sing "and the devil too" - amazingly cool.

I like the videos for Nigel and Are You Recieving Me? best because the content of the video just seems to make more sense in conjuction with the music. Those slow panning shots people in the tree in Dear God just seem a tad contrived.

EDIT - Also, check out the video for Funk Pop A Roll

No, the video lacks a lot of the spark we find in other videos...but it's a more serious sounding song so I suppose the more plain approach makes sense. In any case, it's the song I preferred rather than the video accompaniment.

Funk Pop A roll is like Monty Python/Yellow Submarine on acid. Though - that means we have to then take the already trippy Yellow Submarine to be an example of staid normality.

This is the video for Creepin Up The Back Stairs, by The Fratellis. I have a feeling they just ran around Glasgow with a vieo camera for it, I guess the record company probably didn't expect anyone to watch it. I pre-ordered the EP but HMV sucks and it didn't come and now they're selling for tons on Ebay. stare
I thik the random ones of people dancing to it are probably a bit better.
Can anyone work out whether the person in the black dress is male or female?

Edit: I agree about the scarey stripey dude Francis. Just trying to look at that last one if my laptop would only load it.
Edit2: Funk Pop A Roll is brilliant. biggrin

No. Hippies have flowers, punks have needles or pieces of guitar neck.

I love getting post.
Yesterday I got the tickets for T, today I got signed Henrietta single and hopefully on Monday I'll find out whether I've got the free Henrietta/Budhill Singles Club Gatefold EP for Henrietta. At least hopefully I'll find out then, that is the date the single is meant to be out..

I'm a big fan of Iron Maiden too. I'm going to buy a record of it for my record player. I'd love to play it on a Gramophone.
