Dmitri smirked; he'd really been missing out all these years as a keeper, nothing quite compares to bludgeoning down a target with a well aimed swing. One of his beaters might be disappointed this year. He noticed Mira's close attempt at blocking the quaffle, but she had too much distance to cover and not enough time to reach it. The captain pulled back from the game when he noticed a young strangler on the field, and flew down to greet him. ”Sata Snow?” Dmitri recognized the surname on the sign in form immediately. ”So another Snow is gracing Hogwarts with their presence? Let's just hope you're as ambitious in quidditch as Sapphire is in her studies.” Sapphire was the only Snow he ever really noticed, despite having played against a number of them on the quidditch field, but that might have just been because of the blonde curls (he could never resist.) But the others, numerous as they were, branched between all four houses, or maybe just the three? He couldn't recall, didn't really care, at least, not about them. He paused for a moment, glancing at the rest of the sheet and nodded shortly. ”Chaser or beater. You're in luck, we're short a beater right now, grab a broom, bat, and some gear—I hope you know which—and get in the air, you're already late.
“You're on the Silver Team, with me as beater; Lowery, Rojas, and Lillantine are our chasers, you defend them.” He waited for the bloke to join him in the skies before explaining, and pointed out each of the players as he named them. ”The Green Team beaters are Moreau and Mitchell, their chasers are Bannister, Addario, and Yaxley. Yaxley's the vice-captain, so if he tells you anything, you listen. Now pick a bludger and take a hit—and do try not to hit yourself.” ☭☭☭

Vander evaded two steal attempts, and felt pretty good about it, though if he was going to be honest here- and when wasn't he- the attempts had been so poor a five year old could have dodged them. Probably. He continued on his merry way towards the goal posts.

Vander dodged a bludger sent his way by Mira, Louis, then Devonte, again, until he was before the goals. He probably should have passed, but he was a grinning eleven year old boy excited because he seemed to be doing well at a sport, so no one should have been very shocked when he took the shot instead.

Vander didn't score, of course. The keeper, an older boy named Seymour, easily caught it with a smirk, and had the audacity to joke around as he threw it to Devonte. He ignored the keeper and chased after the younger boy, hoping to steal it back.
