merydell BrookM merydell I'm currently working on some wolves termies, anyone know a good gear set-up for a close combat unit? ninja So far i have 2 hammer&shield and 1 claw terminator but i'm a bit stuck on what to give the last two. sweatdrop I'd toss in a cyclone launcher if this is an option and stick to all-melee as much as possible. If the unit is supposed to get stuck in, might as well go all the way. ninja ah yes, the launcher..check. hovering between a sword/claw sergeant of sword/chainfist. ninja IIRC twin lightning claw gives +1 attack correct? I'd maximize attacks over specializing in equipment myself. Though a Frost blade isn't bad either when up against really tough stuff.
Which does bring up the following: how are they going to get stuck in? Teleportation? Land Raider? The Wolf-Wolf flyer?

that's the idea, either assault if possible or have the shield termies take the hits for a turn.

BrookM Same rules as the AdMech codex, but an elites choice and no access to Canticles of the Omnissiah, but other than that a valid choice, especially as they've got access to their Forge World of choice special rules. Just a shame that servitors are utter wank these days. emo

Ye, it is a sad day indeed. :c Even thought they are damn cheap for 4 man units, always hitting on 5+ and no other rules to go with, they pretty much are teleport/backline sniping blockers for your warlord at best, just points and more unit to get at worst.
I took a squad of them to fill a points cost miscalculation on my onager. xP I could have taken another enginseer, but with onager which is already babysitten by another enginseer and 2 ironstriders to stay close to Mama Halonen, it seemed rather reduntant. :/ Plus, 2 heavy bolters extra is always a good thing. :3
