Gikishou shook his head, kissing his forehead. "Just an unpleasant memory. I've seen how a broken heart affects people, so I was just remembering one of those times." He said, telling the truth. He had both seen and experienced it. "another crossroads?" He asked, looking at the panel and also effectively changing the subject.

"I don't think it's another crossroad," Kyo said, looking at the new scene he drew. "It just looked like yet another scene of affection, that's all. It was an important part of the story for some reason." It was then that he noticed something on his character's face that he never saw before.

Gikishou smiled. He could tell something was different about them too, but what was it? He'd seen the blush before, and the shy smile... it was probably obvious, but he had trouble finding it.

After looking at the picture again, Kyo's thoughts returned to the museum. The story of the guard and slave painting, right? This picture looked like an illustration of some part of the story, but what could it be?

Gikishou smiled as he realized what it looked like. "The scene where the slave realized that he was loved and protected. It looks like you feel appreciated and loved for the first time." He told him, smiling and kissing his cheek.

"Is that so?" Kyo asked, still looking at the scene. After a moment he nodded in agreement. "Yes, it does look very much like that."

GIkihsou was all smiles as he hugged him again. "I'm glad that that's how it looks. It makes me feel like you're recognizing how wonderful you really are." He told him.

"I'm glad, too," Kyo said, smiling. "We shall no longer worry too much about things." Well, the big things were what they shouldn't worry too much about anyway.

Gikishou nodded, kissing him lightly."So what would you like to do now?" He asked. He wanted to just hug Kyo and kiss him silly, but was sure Kyo would be uncomfortable with that, so her restrained himself.

"Maybe we can visit the fireflies again," Kyo suggested pointing up to the ceiling. "If they heard about what happened today, then they're most likely worried. We should let them know that everything is okay."

Gikishou nodded, picking him up and putting him on his back. "Hang on tight, Kyo." He caught himself from saying 'angel' and went up to the roof, hugging him once they were there, and the fireflies swarmed, assuring themselves that Kyo was there, and then immediately swarming around Gikishou, buzzing reprimandingly.

The fireflies seemed very worried, as Kyo had observed, since they were now just flying around Giki-san with what may be angry blinkings and buzzings. They reminded Kyo of worried parents after finding out that their child had been in danger. Their behavior was quite similar to his own parents, but not so much.

They calmed down after a bit, and gikishou hugged Kyo close. "They were mad that I couldn't protect you." He explained to him, kissing his cheek.

"It's reasonable, though. They seem to care about me a lot," Kyo said, smiling. "I think they act like parents, though not overprotective." It did seem that the fireflies had become another part of their family. Perhaps it was because they developeda liking to the two high school students.

Gikishou smiled. "A nice big family." He said, kissing his cheek. His wish was coming true. Kyo now had a family, someone who loved him, and was safe. Perfect.
