Rumors and Plants (NightWerewolf here)

Alex blinked. "Well at least she's not lost anymore." He chuckled and followed Eva up the ladder. He had never been in his own attic very often, not to mention hers. And he didn't think that Eva had been up there either.

There were boxes everywhere. There was a chest, papers, an old mirror other things from other families. For a moment, Eva forgot about Riley and began to look around. "Alex, come look at this." She said. Riley meowed next to a stack of papers. She picked up a newspaper article and began to read.

"Mr. and Mrs. Gordan were married saturday August 4, 1923. They are the proud owners of the Wellington Mansion. They met at last month's county dance. The article continued on but that wasn't what caught Eva's eye.

"Alex, is it just me or does the cat in this picture look a lot like Riley." Eva said a little freaking out.

Alex had been looking around and started to read the article. He looked at the picture when Eva pointed it out. He blinked a few times as he looked between Riley and the picture. "Yeah... it does."

Eva looked at Riley. "Is this your great grandmother or something?" She asked. Riley didn't answer instead she jumped off the box and ran through the wall disappearing. "Please tell me you saw that too." Eva asked Alex.

Alex stared at the spot that Riley had just ran through. His jaw dropped and he nodded slowly to answer Eva's question. "That's just not right." He said going over to the wall and kicking it lightly. Sure enough, it was solid.

"I'll say." Eva looked back at the paper and then chuckled. "Get this. Riley hooked this couple up as well." She handed him the newspaper and then continued to look around. Eva found more photos of the couple years and years later. "And it looks like they stayed together. They had four kids and they lived a happy life."

Alex looked at the picture and smiled. "So are match maker is a ghost cat that's at least 83 years old? Wow..." He looked around and in all the pictures he could find, the couple seemed happy. "You think we'll end up like they did?" He asked her hopefully.

Eva looked at him and smiled. "I hope so. After all, Riley hooked them up and hooked us up. I would think so." She kissed him quickly and then a thought occurred to her. "You know, Kenny's mom told me about the murder that happened here. It was actually this couple and the murder took all their money. Do you think that's why Riley's still here?"

Alex blushed slightly and smiled. "It's possible that's why Riley's still here. I wouldn't really know why she'd stay though." He said slightly confused.

Eva wrapped her arms around his neck and smiled. "I don't know, but I'm glad she did." She kissed him and then leaned her head against his forehead taking in his scent.

"Me too." Alex smiled and hugged her tightly. He kissed her deeply, enjoying every moment.

Eva enjoyed the kiss. Her heart raced faster and faster. The room was spinning out of control. After awhile she pulled back and looked into his eye panting. Eva was beginning to get dizzy. "You know, this will be an interesting story to tell our children."

"That we were brought together by a 83 year-old cat?" Alex laughed and held her close as he panted a bit.  

[elphy_and_fiyero]

"Like I said, it will be an interesting story. Whether they believe us or not is the more interesting part." The little girl in her head was dancing in circles and laughing.

Alex nodded, resting his head against hers. "Maybe if we got a picture, we could prove it to them. But we'd have to find Riley first." He smiled.
