The government want to spy on universities to find fundamentalist Islamist societies.

Well, here in the middle of nowhere anyone new would be spotted right away, so I thought it might be fun to set up a fundamentalist Islamist society here. We'd not do anything bad. We'd probably just play rounders and mess about, probably go drinking a lot too. But the idea sounds like fun.

Of course, I couldn't just turn up at Forum and say to everyone "I'd like to set up Jihad Soc.", they just wouldn't let me. So we're torn between setting up a cookery club, and then changing our name to JihadSoc without telling anyone, or better..

..acronyms. J.I.H.A.D. Soc.

So far, the best we've got is the "Just innocently having a drink." society, but it'd still be difficult to get permission for that.

Do you have any better ideas?

If you like them, then let them in. I quite like doing it myself but in all honesty, with university happening now I won't always have time.

Foreign people who love us can come, xenophobic BNP types cant, people referencing P.G. Wodehouse get their 200g fee paid back, anyone who doesn't use any upper case letters cannot get in..

..really, I could write a book on it, but generally:

If they're clearly illiterate, deny them.

If they're a bit middle-groundy, leave them for me to decide.

If you like them, go for it.

If you think they truly rock, ask me to pay back their fees. (I'd not ask you to, but you can if you wish.)

Can the file be played on something? If so there must be some way or working out the codec being used; thus, the conversion you need. The generic process is to convert the unknown file type to an uncompressed format — assuming the unknown format is some sort of compressed format, e.g. mp3, aac, wma, ogg, flac, etc. — then encode to mp3 using something like LAME.

What you could do it get a multiple format "X" to WAV converter and try all the formats until something works.

Has anyone else still at schoo HAD to get a card. I'm having to get one to use for the library and we need to put money on the card, then use it to buy things out the vending machine or cafe. Sounds like a stupid idea to me.
