Snow... I remember snow... it's not anything we have to worry about in Savannah. mrgreen although, 70+ degrees in February seems a little unseasonable to me, but then again I've been out of Louisiana for too long.
Just popping in to say hello... *waves to all the geezers who can still see from a distance* "Halllooooooooooooooooooo"
So far in the past month I've interviewed for 4 jobs, got 3, quit 2, and think I'll be sticking with the last one. Hopefully I'll have more time after I finish this round of training. NIce to see people still around though.

Hello all ~ good to see you again Harbone.
My apologies for being out so much lately ~ life is kicking my butt left, right, and central... evil
Cost me $300 to tow both of our cars Monday ~ daughter's had a bad thermostat that is in an unreachable spot and had been driving her to school all the week before and paying someone to bring her home. Most annoying... the thermostat went out as we were driving it home from the mechanic's after he'd repaired a hose that was causing her car to surge, then die, leaving her with a vehicle that would continue to roll forward with no steering... ninja
Within half-hour of the truck picking up hers, mine broke down and left us stranded on the side of the road. Timing belt; however, my lovely beast is one of the newer ones where the engine keeps trying to go even after the belts gone ~ when did car manufacturer's decide this was a good plan? stare .
With this delightful new concept comes the destruction of the valves, pistons, and whatnot and is going to cost me around 1.5k to fix ~ needs to have the engine rebuilt. This leaves me with no vehicle for two weeks. Fortunately one of my co-workers can get me to and from work, but doesn't help me much trying to do anything after work... I live out in the middle of nowhere, everything is at least 3-4 miles from the house, and it's been freakin snowing... crying
Thankfully, I'd just got my income tax return, so I can actually pay for the repair... but so much for catching up on my bills, or trying to do something fun for once. emo
Needless to say, Bratty has not been in the best of moods over the last month or so, as I'd already missed several days of work for both of these damn cars over the last three weeks. Tisn't necessarily thrilling Bratty's boss, either. sweatdrop
He's been really good about it, but I know he hates to have me out during the Legislative Session... ewww... not our fun time of the year.
Anyhow, just wanted to update everyone ~ haven't forgotten my beautimous and prettiful geezers, just feel bad coming in when I'm in a cranky mood and not being my normal, happier self. heart

*Hugs Lil* Thanks for the thought... I'm about tired of the freakin snow already. We don't normally see a lot of it, but the weathers been rather whacked this past year, not just here, but all over the country.
Hope you get dug out soon! heart

got to get inventive with cooking over the next few( lot of) months it would seem, minimal spend, maximum taste and satisfaction, and healthy too, not too tall an order there.. sweatdrop

I'd help, but most all our finances right now are being saved for the adoption, that is the most important thing right now, that and moving. We are basically shoveled out now, it is sunny today, but there is a lot more shoveling needed to get done... the picture is dark, but the snow was still coming down hard at this time... Some of our drifts are over 5 feet and the aveage standing snow is 3 feet.

Oh I miss snow. Haven't seen it in 8 years. Here the spring is well in bloom, along with all my spring allergies. I'm allergic to, of all things, the wax that comes off the trees when the leaf buds pop (Couldn't just be pollen or something like that rolleyes !). I still can't get used to the fact that some parts of this country are still in deep winter, and here in Texas my roses have started to bloom again. Maybe y'all should come and visit me in the winter, and I'll pop by in the summer when the temp gets over 100...but then you'll have to dig yourseves out first.
Hope things are looking better for you Bratty.

*whistling to himself as he strolls through*
His eyes they closed and his last breath spoke he had seen all to be seen A life once full, now an empty vase Wilt the blossums on his early grave Walk away me boy, walk away me boy And by mornin' we'll be free Wipe that golden tear from your mother dear And raise what's left of the flag for me
Er...um....howdy all.
