As Kazu's forces jumped into action, Marcus's digimon did the same, spreading out to meet their opponents. It seemed as if fate saw fit to pair them off with one another as opposed to open ended attacks launched as a whole.

MachGaogamon would eyeball the tamer's main digimon, Paildramon, figuring that it would be a perfect match to have first digimon to go against digimon. His dog-like senses of hearing would alert him to the on coming attack and lead into a counter attack of his own. Kicking back, he would back out of punching range and release a loud barking attack, "HOWLING CANNON!!!" This would amplify his barking to a supersonic form that would cause some pushback force in an attempt to create more distance between them and possibly disorient the opponent(s) through hearing damage. This would luckily move him out of the way of Magnamon's follow-up attack and more than likely hit him.

With Machgaogamon and the others gone to do their fighting, the giant mecha dinosaur would see her target steadily approaching. "Come at me pretty boy...PLASMA BLADE!" Slightly confused by why she was not sent all the way to her Ultimate form, she was led to work with what she was given. Both arm blades would glow and crackle with purple electricity as she brought them up to attack the oncoming Justimon. Using both of her thrusters, she would spin towards him like a bladed twister. The first blade would come to meet Justimon's kick and result in an explosion of energy. Due to the fact she was of a lower level and lower in power, she would be forced back, "Dammit Marcus, I need more power! MEGA NAPALM!!!" Missiles slots along her shoulders would open and fire six warheads, each with a bit of nuclear power packed within. The missiles would shoot up and then come back down, all aimed at the cyborg digimon.

Ocelot would jump from off of MachGaogamon's shoulder when he noticed that they were all moving. Using ninja-like he would jump and move towards his companion and partner, lillymon, he would be unamused by the oncoming attacks. He'd seen far worse from the guards of Spiral Castle. Looking over at Lillymon, he would smirk, "They are quite confident in their skill..."

"Flower CUTTER!!" The flowers on her wrists would turn into glowing blades that she would use to knock away the anchor coming for her in an 'X' -like fashion. "This is very true, but..." She ends in a giggle, "Let's show them what we can do... Brother."
"Corrupt Garden?"
"But of course!"

The duo would come to the ground with eyes set on the tamer and not his digimon, almost removing themselves from the battle. Lillymon would begin to charge a purplish energy on her chest that would take the form of a flower and the Pandamon would also begin to charge energy into his right fist.

"Fairy..."
"Unnan---"
"... VINE!!!"
"---SHOU"

Exploding with power, Lillymon would fire a pink beam of energy that would result in a frenzied growth of vines that would charge at Kazu. Pandamon would then follow by punching the ground. Bamboo pillars made of the very ground beneath them would release from the ground in the form of a shockwave. The two attacks would combine together to make an attack of bamboo spears and deadly vines, much as the name 'Corrupt Garden,' suggested.

Both leomon and Pandamon, standing to Marcus's left and right, would notice the attacks coming their way. Not knowing that these were coming for Leomon, Cadaiver would step to the front with a hand out stretched, "No harm shell come to the my Master... BINARY CRUSHER!!" With an emotionless glare fixed on the attacker, he would close the hand abruptly. On que, the two ethereal fowl would stop right in front of him and would then would be reduced to 1s and 0s by some unseen force.

With a salivating mouth, all formality lost to the digisoul, Leomon would walk in front of clown digimon "Let me teach him some manners." He would pull his blade and toss it too the side. He would then enter into a strange sort of fighting, slouching forward with his hands waving below him to show claws whose sharpness would be almost as sharp as his blade. He would start to glow with a beastly aura. "You... look... DELICIOUS!!!" With a roar, he would reel one arm back and fire a blast that would take the form of a charging lion with fangs beared to bite down on the digimon. "Jūga-maru (Beast fang).

Marcus would hear the cries of his digimon all attacking on their own. He had given them power and now they were acting on their own accord like a pack of wild animals with a mind to survive in this dog-eat-dog world. He would be caught off guard with how Hiro was acting and how different he was from how the lion used to act. He would then notice Paramiere in a bit of a struggle as a perfect against an ultimate. Look down at his digivice, feeling it growing hot and steaming, he would ask "Is this the power of biosoul?"

"Who is to tell? Before too long, we [Digimon] thought it be impossible to do. But... you need to focus on the battle at hand. There is a digisoul here that the Lord commands to have or you'll be no more for sure this time." Cadaiver would stand with arms crossed, examining the battle as if it was not meant for him to join in this time. "Hmm? Seems like those two rogue digimon want the boy dead." He would say with a chuckle.

"What?!"

"If we head for the future..."

Kazu Matsumoto

"...Then we can be forgiven for the past."

Paildramon grunted as the supersonic howl tossed him backwards, he buzzed his wings furiously to keep from being pushed too far back but in the end he allowed himself to be blown away. His ears rang as he re-focused on the target. "Good move. Desparado Blaster!" Both machine guns would swivel round to his hips and he opened fire with a volley of bullets aimed for the MachGaogamon.

Magnamon grunted as his kick missed the speedy panda, out of the corner of his eye he saw the mech-dog open his mouth, he crossed his arms before him and was blasted backwards, flying past Kazu. He righted himself mid-flight and looked back into the arena. His eyes shrank in fear. "KAZU!"

The collision of Justimon and Wargrowlmon sent the Cyborg cannoning back into a boulder. He rubbed his head and looked up to see six missiles blitzing towards him. "No you... DON'T!" In a burst of blue light Justimon's arm morphed into a much more streamlined apperance. "God Tornado!" Justimon's arm opened up and in a roar of electricity and wind, an enormous tornado burst forth. The missiles would explode within the attack and, as it died down Justimon would stand panting. "nice one sweetheart."

Buraimon grunted as his attack was blocked by a non-combatant. Regardless he was more worried about the salviating Leomon, as the etheral Lion approached he jammed a blade into the ground, jumped ontop of it and used it to barrell roll over the top of the fericious beast. He landed and re-drew his blade from the ground. "You fight without discipline. I'll show you what it means to heighten your animalistic instincts!" In a flash of movementBuramon had flapped his wings to launch himself at the Leomon, both blades coming down, one towards his foe's legs the other his torso.

Mermaimon cussed as he attack was batted away, it wasn't until she heard Magnamon's yell that she realised she wasn't the target of the Panda and Flower's assult. "No! Kazu!" In a second Magnamon had Mermaimon, pulling her before Kazu and he himself standing beside her. "Mermaimon now! Aura Barrier!" a spherical sheild burst from Magnamon taking the full brunt of the combination attack. Mermaimon nodded and rammed her anchor into the floor "Earth Needle!" as the anchor crashed into the ground a multitude of stalagmites burst forth, each one clashing with Ocelot's own bamboo spears. With the spears causing less pressure, Magmanon's cracked sheild could now hold the frantic viens back.

Kazu had panicked when the attack had burst forth. He didn't want to use more Digi-Soul then was nessecary, but thankfully his firends had lept in the way and saved him just in time. "C'mon now you two! Hardly fair eh? Why've you got it in for me eh?" Kazu held fast behind his Digimon, trusting them to hold this "Corrupted Garden" at bay.

Spiraled Confusion Takes to the Battlefield

With metallic gauntlets brought to the front to cover his face, the Machgaogamon would grunt as he was under heavy fire. His rockets would ignite and shoot him skyward to escape taking more damage. "Wanna shoot something, eh? Let's see if you can keep up with me then, heh. MACH SPIRAL!!" After he reached the peak of his ascension, he would begin to drop and his thrusters would erupt once more with a brilliant blue flame that increased his speed tenfold. "Howling Cannon!" Moving at high speeds from his mach spiral, he would bark once more to release a shockwave out in front of him. This would arch around him making a powerful, sound-barrier breaking, aura that would surround him as he darted at the firing Paildramon. Contact would be detrimental to blow its target and the area around it and a miss would result in MachGaogamon doing heavy damage to the terrain below.

"Don't patronize me maggot... ATOMIC BLASTER!!!" While Justimon was dealing with the missiles, Paramiere had merely been using them as a distraction to set up her most powerful attack, at this stage. A double-barreled beam of atomic energy would be released from the twin ports on the digimon's chest, locked on to the Justimon.

"Yes, my prey... come to me." Back to his swaying position, the lion digimon would have complete access to the flexibility owned by all members of the feline species. His body would twist and turn as he spun out of the birds attack and then countered with his own. "Hasaigeri" (Crushing Kick) Now at the bird's side, he would lift one leg up as high as felinely (not a word, but you get the idea) possible and then brought it down in an axe-like fashion. The appendage would be coated in feral energy as it came down with the intent of crushing the bird's body.

Ocelot would sigh as dust vanished in time to reveal that their combined assault had been halted. "Kazu, Kazu, Kazu... don't be so naive. Knock on the devil's door long enough, he might just send someone to greet you." The panda digimon would then slam his paw into the ground and be sent flying into the air by a massive bamboo shoot, made of stone, that had been created from being in his Unnanshou state.

Lillymon would step back and stretch out both of her hands allowing the flower-like bangles to wrap around her hands and turn into emerald blades. "It's true... You should know that once evil has had a taste of you, it will continue to hunt you down. Now be a good boy and stop resisting! Flower Cutter!" With a quickness she would slice and dice the pillar into smaller chunks of stone, starting from the top and working her way down. She then kicks the large rocks upward with her sun-crescent kick. "Serve!"

Three large boulders would go towards Pandamon. "FIRECRACKER!!" The panda digimon would then punch the boulder with a fiery energy, setting it ablaze. He would then send them flying, one after the other, towards the tamer like a miniature meteor.

Marcus watches as the two continue their assault like blood hounds with an order to hunt and kill. "Dammit! They're going to kill them, I want to deal with him myself!" Adamant on taking on the tamer, Marcus would sprint down the valley, trying to avoid being caught in the many crossfires from his and Kazu's digimon. "Dammit, you too! Do what you're supposed to do and fight digimon, not humans!!!"

"MASTER MARCUS!!" the chaospiedmon would call out as he reached out to the already gone tamer. "Dammit!" He would spit as he too would take off after his humanoid ally.

"If we head for the future..."

"...Then we can be forgiven for the past."

Paildramon grunted as Machgaomon entered into his vicious cycle. As the mecha dog powered towards him, Paildramon's guns retracted behind him. "I'll shoot at you as much as damn well please!" he lifted his arms and pointed them at the spiralling death doggy. "Cable Catcher!" The two spikes on Paildramon's wrists launched themselves off at the incoming Digimon, a strong wire trailing behind them, they criss crossed in the air a few times before they reached the aura. Too weak to do any damage the spikes became caught up in the spiral, dealing no damage. However with the spikes now circling MachGaogamon the cables attached would be able to be caught aswell, hopefully getting tangled in the mech dog. "RARGH!" In a yell Paildramon would leap into the air, tugging hard onto the cables as the meteor of an attack hurtled past him. The force launched him flying into the cliff-face, creating a crater. "C'mon... Snare him! Elemental Bolt!" coughing and spluttering Paildramon unleashed a bolt of lightning down the cables, hoping to have caught something...

"Patronize? Please I don't need to patronize you to beat you!" Justimon dashed forward into the oncoming Atomic attack, there was no other move he could make due to its vast size. His arm burst with a blue yellow and red light. "Trinity Arm! Justice... KNUCKLE!!!" Justimon threw his arm forwards to collide with the immense amount of energy, At the last possible second he unleashed the energy of his own arm, the three colours: blue, yellow and red, spiralled outwards from his fist as he brought the blast to an earth shuddering halt. It began pushing him backwards, his feet carving out grooves in the ground as he skidded back. The blast was converging as Justimon held it back. "What!? How can an Ultiamte... Have this power!" With a roar Justimon's arm morphed again. The synthetic muscle seemed to lift up in sheets, fanning out to reveal a skeletal form beneath. The sheets created a sort of dish that blossomed out from Justimons elbow. Within seconds the skeletal hand was disintergrated by the force of the attackand the Atomic Blaster carried onwards to the new dish. Justmon smirked. "Thanks for the energy sweetheart! It helps all the better... FOR THIS! POWER BLASTER!" All of the Atomic Blast in an instant was sucked into the dish, like water down a plug-hole. From the base of the dish to the top of his shoulder the cybernetic arm glowed a briliant purple. But all this in only a second, as upon the utterance of "power blaster" the dish erupted. Firing back all the energy of the BlackWarGrowlmon's attack, plus more added by Justimon himself. The new attack ripped through the air obliterating every atom that stood in it's wake expanding in size until it was bigger then a house, with an unimaginable force it hurtled towards Paramiere. Justimon dropped to one knee. His arm had totally shut down now, hanging destroyed from the elbow down. Panting he looked over at the blast...

"Tsk!" Buraimon's attacks were dodged by the Lion's crazy flexibility. In a whisking movement Leomon was at his side and striking at him "Grah!" Buraimon let go of both his swords and dropped his arms to his hips, yanking the sheaths there upwards above his head. Crossing them in an x-shape Leomon's kick would smash into them. In an instant they were obliterated, sending splinters everywhere. In the moment that Leomon's attack was stalled by the destruction of his sheaths Buraimon dropped to the ground and grabbed his swords. He rolled to his right as Leomon's foot crashed int the earth. Buraimon returned to his feet and dove forwards, "Gaeshi"(Swallow) His swords both burst into burning birds as he slashed furiously at Leomon...

"So what? I escape fair and square and he wants me back. I guess I should be flattered!" Kazu started yelling as the meteors shot towards him "Mermaimon! Get on it! Magna-Punch!" a golden aura burst around Magnamon as he shot forward, punching the first meteor and obliterating it. "Got it! Northern Cross Bomber!" Spinning her anchor Mermaimon launched a replica at the second mini-meteor smashing through it. Neither of them saw the third meteor as it flew past them "No!" "Dammnit!" The meteor flew towards Kazu. His eyes were shut, it came closer, closer. "Now!" Kazu leant backwards, the meteor kept travelling as Kazu moved backwards, he kept going, almost until he was at a right angle. The rock was almost brushing his face as it flew over him. As it exploded in the distance Kazu returned to a standing position, just as a kid landed infront of him. Kazu looked up to see Marcus and a Piedmon dashing his way, a tentomon, presumably the kids, began yelling at him to help. "Wha? What the hell!? Get outta here kid!" Kazu grabbed the boy's collor and, turning his back to Marcus, threw him as hard as he could out of the way. He was kicking himself for losing his sight of Marcus, but he couldn't have casulties due to his fight. "Get out of here Tentomon before you're deleted!"

[[ ~On the Precipice of Defeat~ ]]

Paildramon gave a satisfied grunt as his attack landed. His eyes grew wide in surprise however when the mecha dog took off at an astounding rate. "Damn! Elemental... Ahh forget it!" The strain on the cables was too much for Paildramon to hold onto. With a grunt and a clunking noise the cables released from his forearms. He watched the rise of the MachGaogamon when he heard something in the distance...

Justimo's smile was big and wide as the beam engulfed the target. "Nice try sweetheart. But it looks like... What!?" as the dust settled Justimon was taken aback by the knight figure kneeling in the centre of the blast, a shiver ran down his spine. It was the ChaosGallantmon Veemon had spoken so fearfully of. The fear paralysed him for a few seconds, at least until he saw the knight collapse and return to her base state. "Thank Yggdra... Oh no..." the missiles had come into view. In a blind panic Justimon lept backwards only for the first missile to smash into the ground by his feet and launch him into the air, in a writhing motion the second missile bypassed him only to explode behind him and knock him forward into the four remaining missiles. "Kazu!" his voice was cut off by the resulting explosion...

Buraimon would screech as Leomon matched his move with hundreds of lion-fists of his own. For every move he parried a lion would rip away part of his Swallow Blade's energy, "I see!" was the last thing he said as a flurry of punches hit his torso, launching him backwards, he found his footing and came to a halt, his torso smoking from the blows. "You truely are a ferocious foe..." Buraimon paused as a noise caught his attention...

Kazu, Mermaimon and Magnamon could only stand by and watch as Ocelot the Pandamon was left limp and lifeless as one of the Seven Demon Lords, Beelzemon Burst Mode himself, was unleashed upon the field. "...Bugger." In a moment the Demon Lord had already decided upon Kazu's fate pointing his gun at him and unleashing a devastating flow of energy. "No time! Digi-Soul... BURST!" In a eruption of blue flames Kazu's Digi-Soul ignited, subsequently all his partners also ignited. "Still not enough... No choice. Activate DigiMemory! Nature Spirits!" Kazu's DigiVice exploded with a Green flame as the Nature Spirits Digi-Memory activated and merged with his own power. His aura burst out, now a golden flame ans he gave his next command. "Digivolve! Create barrier!" Each of his partners was enveloped in the golden light, from his point Paildramon burst away from MachGaogamon to Kazu's side and lifted an arm, Buraimon bowed to his foe before dashing to his Masters side and lifting his arm aswell. Mermaimon emerged from the light in her Digivolved state, AncientMermaimon, "Magnamon?" the Golden Armour Digimon nodded "We're with you!"

AncientMermaimon twirled her trident rapidly before yelling her move "Great Malestrom!" An enormous cone of water, originating from her trident emerged just in time to be smashed with the positronic energy of the Demon Lord's attack, AncientMermaimon let out a yelp of surprise as she was pushed back. "It's too strong! Help!" Magnamon was by her side in a flash gripping he shoulder with his arm "We're with you! Aura Sheild!" focusing his energy through AncientMermaimon the great whirlpool sheild would glow brightly with Magnamon's added energy. he grunted and dug his feet into the gorund as he sfelt the un-naturally strong force of Beelzemon's attack. "Back me up guys!" In a flash Paildramon and Buraimon were at his side, pumping their own power into sustaining the sheild. "You will not hurt Master!" "Get back in your suit!" All Kazu's Digimon burned with the golden energy, but it seemed to not be enough. Steam was ppouring over the battle field as the River of Power attack evaporated the water at a rapid rate, the sheild was so close to cancelling out the attack, but there was something missing...

Kazu gritted his teeth, the usage of this much Digi-Soul was begining to burn his body, he needed it to work, to block the attack, but it was taking it's toll. "Damn it! Why can't you Digivolve higher!?" Inside he knew why, he'd only focused on AncientMermaimon's transformation. Unleahsing this much power in one burst meant there could only be one Digivolution target. But even with the new power they were being pushed back, the Demon Lord was too strong. But Kazu wouldn't quit, like Marcus had said. He was too stubborn... "I've beaten a Demon Lord before! I beat Lucemon! So I can beat you!!!" As he screamed another gold flash shot by to join his partners holding up the sheild. Justimon, covered in blood and missing most of his right cyber-arm, maske cracked and cape in tatters stood, his natural hand resting on Magnamon's head. "PUSH BACK!" with a roar he added the remainder of his power to the attack creating a Golden Super-Storm System that grew bigger and bigger. Kazu watched as the River of Power simply disintergrated on contact with the new, side on whirlpool of power. "NOW! LAUNCH THE BUGGER!"

All his partners heard the command:
"Take this!"
"Back off!"
"Respect your place!"
"Open fire!"
"Lean your lesson!"

The multi-attack would move forwards at an alarming rate, grinding up the ground and sucking in everything in it's path into the centre of the golden malestrom and spewing out a thick cloud of mist in it's wake as it ploughed towards Marcus and his team. The second it had launched Kazu dropped to one knee, panting heavily. The golden auras evaporated from all his Digimon, who proceeded to react to the power surge. Only Paildramon and Buraimon stubbornly remained on their feet. Magnamon collapsed and reverted to Chibomon, AncientMermaimon changed back to Mermaimon, drawing in ragged breaths and used her anchor as a support to stand. Justimon grinned before falling backwards in his bloodied state, totally unconsious and in a critical state. Kazu grunted, pulling out his smoking Digivice and pointing it at his two downed Digimon. "Epic job guys... Monzeamon will do his best to fix you up..." The two Digimon burst into spheres of light and were dragged into his Digivice. Looking up and across the heavily misty area Kazu got shakily back to his feet. "Keep your guards up and keep quiet. I'd like to try and slip away..." Kazu looked over his shoulder at the unconsious kid and his Digimon, he staggered over and hoised the boy over his shoulder, "Lets hope he's as beat up as we are... Tentomon, find us a way out, unless you want him to kill us all..."

MachGaogamon roared angrily as he ended his spinning attack. Hovering for a short amount of time, Destin looked over the land and was awestruck by power being released in front of him. He began to wonder if Marcus was anywhere near and found himself praying to the digital gods that he figured would not hear his sin-covered pleas. "Marcus... don't you dare be anywhere near that monstrosity!" His thrusters triggered again as he dived in with all intent to find Marcus and escape with their lives in tact. As he took off, the next this he saw caused him to freeze in pure fear...

Leomon returned to the ground and began to pant as his Jūga-maru attack was starting to wear off, leaving his body heavily weakened as a side-effect to giving into feral persuasion. The salivating began to slow down as his more civilized persona began to return to him. "I could say the same to y--" He too was cut off by the effects being caused by a reckless Beelzemon. The Buraimon had taken off leaving him frozen in place by the amount of power he felt.

Beelzemon marveled at the combined efforts of the boy's digimon. They had managed to repel his attack once more and then use it to create an even stronger attack. The sight and feel of it's power made him feel rather giddy with anticipation and hunger. "This... this power!! I must have it for myself!!! DARK PENTAGRAM!!!!" The seal of Gluttony would appear in his now glowing eyes as he launched his unarmed hand forward. Once his arm was fully stretched out, the demonic seal of Gluttony would appear as a barrier to take on the attack.



Upon impact, the seal would glow violently with a dark light and would then release black hands, dripping with blood. The hands would stretch outward and would begin to engulf the attack. Almost as if by the power of a black hole, the energy would be absorbed leaving nothing but the fog produced as a side effect to AncientMeriamon's initial attack. The seal glows brightly with the combined efforts of Kazu's digimon, a perfect meal for the ex-member of spiral castle and one of the keepers of Beelzebub's unsatisfiable hunger. With the same hand he pierces the seal and being to take the energy within himself to add to the power of the many others that he had consumed. "Defeat a Demon Lord? HA!!! You know not whom you are dealing with, do you?!" He calls out tauntingly through the fog, partially thinking to just start blasting. "HAHAHAHA!!! This power you have, Kazu Matsumoto... you have been marked. I will continue to hu---"

"CLOWN TRICK!!!" Standing beneath the demon lord, Cadaiver would stretch one hand out and then close it quickly. A magical box would enclose around the demon lord and would then vanish, sending the demon lord to a place unknown. He would sigh and look through the fog as if looking right at Kazu. "Child, you know not what you are dealing with. It would be wise to make sure that we never... meet... again." With that the clown would snap his fingers as he, Marcus, and all the other that were with them also vanished.

[Marcus and team exit to Dark Ocean]

As the kid stirred Kazu let him down, watching his Tentomon care for him. A prickle down the back of his neck caused him to peer into the mist. The words spoken by Cadaiver echoed through him, making him shiver. He melenchonically spoke into the mist: "Believe me... I wish that it could turn out that way..." The mist was begining to clear as the boy drank a strange drink handed to him by the Tentomon. The boy stood and apporached Kazu, talking about Digi-Soul and Brothers. Kazu put a hand to his head and held out the other to silence the kid. "Sorry buddy, just slow down a second. I'm a little worn out." As if on cue Paildramon burst with light and emerged as Veemon, gripping the side of a boulder for support, Buraimon collapsed in a sitting position and Mermaimon flopped onto her back.

Mermaimon groaned "Kazu... I need to rest, can I go back?" Veemon nodded, Buraimon reluctantly agreed "I concur. We have over-exerted ourselves holding off that beast of a Demon Lord." Kazu turned away from the kid and nodded. "Sure thing guys. Give my best to Chibomon and Justimon. Make sure they're ok." With a nod, each of Kazu's Digimon burst into orbs of light and re-entered Kazu's Digivice. In another flash two Digimon realized next to Kazu. Myotismon and Devimon. "Are you ok master?" Myotismon knelt down and placed a cold hand on Kazu's forehead. Devimon piqued up "Yeah, we could feel the battle all the way from Sanctuary. Was it that Marcus guy?" Kazu nodded, "He's back... But different. He said something about 5 keys... I know thats bad." Shrugging Kazu turned his attention to the new-comer.

Kazu scratched his head. He was hurting all over after his rather excessive explosion of Digi-Soul, he turned to the kid, his vision a little blurry, and spoke "Ok kid. First thing's first. You realise you could have died right now yeah? I swear, you see this kind of battle and you get close enough to be knocked out? You're lucky you arn't dead!" A wobble in Kazu's legs caused him to grab a rock for support. "You ok Kazu?" Veemon asked. He had joined the other two on the ground. Kazu nodded and slid down the rock into a sitting position. "I'm good. Now back to you." He turned to eye up the boy, he pulled his pointy glasses away from his eyes so he could better see the kid. "Question time: How in the Digi-World do you know my name?
