Kane held Lan gently, trying not to put too much pressure on the wound. "L-Lan...are you alright?" Kane was worried because Lan had screamed. Had he hurt him? "Did I get it out okay? Does it still hurt?"

Lan cried into Kane's arms and wrapped his arms around him. His chest heaved with the sobs and and he moaned quietly. "I-I'm gonna be fine.......I-It just hurt so bad"

"Are you still hurting?" Kane asked with deep concern for the neko. "maybe I should still take you to the hospital. We can't risk anything." Kane wanted to make sure that he did everything in his power to keep Lan safe, and that ment getting his wound the proper care.

Lan tried to be strong and stood up on shaking legs. "You got the bullet out.....so i-ll be fine" he said as he took a step forward before wincing and falling to my knees. "Th-the c-cut still hurts..."

"Lan!" Running over to Lan,and supporting him, Kane said, "Don't try to walk. I'll carry you. If you hurt yourself again I don't know what I'll do." Looking at the ground for a moment, Kane looked back up at Lan. "I'm so sorry that this happened. I should have knocked the gun out of his hand first. There were so many things I could have done, but...I was too afraid."

Lan smiled a little as Kane picked him up. Leaning up, he gently kissed Kane's lips. "I-It's not your fault. Don't ever blame yourself" he said as he put a hand on Kane's cheek.

"Lan, I may not have pulled the gun," Kane started as he began walking slowly in the direction of the opera house, "but I still should have been looking out for you. That's my duty. So some of the blame does rest with me, and I am willing to accept that." Kane was not smiling, but rather had a solumn stare, as if contemplating something.

Lan teared a little and kissed Kane again. "Please don't feel bad. It was my fault. I got cocky" He said as he winced with the slight bumps of Kane's steps. Hugging Kane tight, he hid his face in Kane's shoulder. "I-I'm just so happy it was me instead of you"

"I wish it hadn' thave been anyone." Kane frowned at the idea of seeing any of the innocent people back there getting shot. "Why do people use guns? They're so horrible. They kill mercilessly and without discretion." Kane's eyes were tearing from the ugly thoughts of death.

"No, no" Lan said shaking his head as he brushed his furry ears on Kane's neck. Gently sliding a hand under Kane's shirt, he kissed Kane's cheek. "You shouldn't be sad. I hate violence too." He smiled a little and wrapped his tail around Kane's waist.

Lan's soft fur and gentle brush reassured Kane that things were alright. "You always make me feel better Lan," he said with a smile. 'But that's why I love you.' "It looks like we're not going to have that relaxing day out we were hoping for." He half-smiled as if it were a joke, but was also sad that they wouldn't get to have any of the fun they had been looking for.

Lan gave a purr and smiled at Kane. Gently kissing Kane's neck, he nuzzled his chest. He gently shifted into his cat form, but this time became a full on cat. He curled up in Kane's arms, purring and licking his chest. "I love you so much"

Kane looked at the newly transformed Lan with a smile of love. 'Aieee!!! He's so cute!' " I love you too Lan." He kissed him on the head. As they finally reached the opera house, Kane said, "We're home." Walking in, Kane set Lan down gently on the floor. "Just wait here for a minute," he cautioned as he went and got some bandages. Kneeling down next to Lan, he patched him up with care. Then he picked him up once more and laid him down in their bed. "There you go." Sitting on the edge next to him, Kane said, "Now I don't want you trying to get up for the rest of today, alright? If you need anything then you let me know, alright?" Kane wanted to care for Lan when he needed him. 'I want to help. And I don't usually do so well, so...I really want to help him get well again.'

Lan purred and smiled as Kane cared for him. After Kane had finished, he nuzzled his head and looked at him with the same eyes as his human form. Then, he slowly shifted back to being human and for some reason, his hair seemed softer and his face glowed. He smiled with a soft and beautiful face as he kissed Kane. "You're the best. And I'll never leave you." he whispered into Kane's soft lips.

"I know," kane whispered back. He loved and trusted Lan enough to know that he would never abandon him. He was only afraid of having him taken by force. "Take it easy, alright? If you reopen the wound," he shook a finger at him playfully, "you'll just hurt yourself again! So, umm..." he looked around as if searching for something. "Is there any kind of housework you need done? I'd be gald to do a little work while you're in bed."
