unfortunately I am nowhere near Chelmsford... but if we're advertising local bands, my friends are in a band and are playing at Pacific Road on 26th April if anyone happens to be near Birkenhead..

Also, I need your expert opinions, does anyone know any good romantic songs... my friend is trying to make a CD for his girlfriend and asked me for help, unfortunately neither of us are very romantic so we're kinda stuck sweatdrop

He could try I Want You by Elvis Costello, although that might make her think she's going out with a psychopath.

For what it's worth, these are my favourite romantic songs:

HIM - Gone With The Sin

Hammerfall - Fallen One

Nightwish - Ghost Love Score / Feel For You / Forever Yours / Ever Dream

Sonata Arctica - Last Drop Falls / Shy / The End Of This Chapter / Over The Hills And Far Away

Van Halen - Dreams / Why Can't This Be Love? / Love Comes Walking In

Ensiferum - Tears

GNR - Think About You / Don't Cry / You Can't Put Your Arms Around A Memory / So Fine

Lynard Skynard - Freebird

Adagio in G minor

Canon in D

Rondeau from Abdelazer

Christmas concerto Op6 No8 - Allegro

Heartwarming that the GBG's 21000th post is in the name of love.

Though, I can't really help you. I got a 'love CD' from a girlfriend and it was predominantly Rammstein and epic film tunes. Which was really cool, but not what you might call romantic.

I hope other people can be more useful..
I was the 21000th poster?! Go me!! xp Thanks for the suggestions everyone... I'll see what he thinks (can always use more though if anyone else has any ideas)

How about a selection of Puccini arias?

I have just realised the irony in calling Baroque songs romantic...
PostPosted: Tue Apr 11, 2006 9:10 am
Puccini isn't Baroque.

I was referring to the songs in my list.

My comment wasn't necessarily related in any way to your previous one.

Then it was rather a detatched statement.

Oh, and I like the alternate lyrics better, but they are less romantic than those of the original.

If we could see tomorrow
What of your plans
No one can live in sorrow
Ask all your friends
Times that you took in stride
They're back in demand
I was the one who's washing
Blood off your hands
