Ranmaru thanked Lalhil as she proved him with a scroll. He was content to leave when all of the sudden a hulking man stood in the doorway. That was strange. While the sight of him only raised an eyebrow, what made him even more confused was the fact that Sumire was not by his side. During the negotiations it made sense that she was being a proper hostess, but now that negotiations have ended it was clear that she should be back in her proper place. However, everything turned for the worse when Lalhil started threatening the group. The scholar man stood in front of Sumire to shield her with his body as he looked and faced Lalhil. "Do not insult me by calling my words lies." He scowled sharply. He knew that Sumire was a soft women and this display of aggression would undoubtedly make her recoil. Since this woman had no right to intimidate a Zaishin noble, Ranmaru took especial offense to this display. "Sumire's abilities, vile as they are, caused your people no harm. I have personally escorted her this whole way, as did our retainer Seichiro. So if you dare insinuate her again then there will be no peace between our nations. To which you may easily kill us, but then you'll have war to worry about next." He demanded. While Ranmaru lacked combat skills, he was not afraid of dying. The man had existed for centuries and the philosophical inquiry of death was actually quite interesting. But beyond death was his pride, and he would not allow that, or the pride of any of the five four royal clans to be tarnished by some tree hugging vampire who has no control of her own citizens.
The young woman let out a small sigh as she gave the large cat a nod,"I'll take it but I don't like it. My privacy and freedom are greatly important to me." Reaching out her hand she continued,"If you have any hunting contracts forward them to me please. I could use the extra work and pay. Escorting those two inside is tiring." Though the tigers question brought a mass of blush to the womans face as she shook her head lightly,"I am not really wearing any, just some vanilla scented soap that I wash with.."
Speaking of the ones inside, the clone was smart enough to realize things were starting to go to s**t quite quickly, especially with the large man blocking the exit. Taking a deep breath she raised her hands lightly,"Maru, thats about enough. We are not here to start a war and I am not about to fight a village for you." Facing the kage she continued,"I would very much like everyone to take a deep breath. I don't know about you, but I can honestly say I do not wish for this to turn violent. However I agree with Maru. Their secrets are their own, however as a token of good faith, I will allow yourself or your anbu to examine my memories. Not once has Sumire left my sight, I am a professional after all. Sumire is many things, soft, squishy, good at making tea. Afraid of a certain fetish maybe. Some daddy issues for sure. But shes not a killer. She does not have it in her to take a life of an innocent person, let alone two. You said it yourself, there is another type of jutsu which boils things. Perhaps the person who committed the murders was of that bloodline? As another token of good faith, I would like to help you investigate this murder. Tracking and hunting are not my only skills. Clem did not leave the room rather she just stayed silent listening in on the conversation, it was interesting to say the least personally shes never seen a yokai but then again were those bugs yokai or something else either way, she would wait till it seemed the meet was done and all the samurai ninja and others said their peace. 'This is concerning. Was is a rogue Mahofu or-' Her mind stopped as she realized something. The Hokage was being aggressive with her and asked her if her smoke rot. It was then, Sumire had realized that she was accusing her. Wanting to clear it up, she stood up calmly with a calm demeanor but was interrupted by Ranmaru. "Can I-" She stopped as she was over spoken by Ranmaru. He was rather upset that they were called liars and she doesn't blame him. Being called a liar was no fun but it's how you approach it. Her cheeks became a tinge of pink when he said her abilities were vile. Her blood pressure was on the rise. Then he had brought up that if the Lady Hokage had insulted her again, there will be no peace. That she could kill them. Now, wait a minute. "May I just-" She was interrupted again. This time, by Sei.
Her cheeks were becoming redder and her heart was pounding faster. In her mind, Sei disrespected Ranmaru, "Wait-" She couldn't even get a word in as Sei was now on a roll. 'Do not speak out of turn.''Sumire, you are brave.' 'Males always talk first.' 'Weak.''Stay strong.''Disgusting'When in business, always be quiet and hidden.' 'You are beautiful.''Vile.''Worthless.''Soft.''Ugly.' 'Will never amount anything.' 'Worthy.'"Let me-""Our future leader.'Afraid of a certain fetish.' "She's talking to ME. Not either of you. ME. Just... stop." Sumire glanced over Ranmaru. "Thank you, Hogosha-san." Then she glared at Sei for a hot second. She was really upset that Sei, a person older than herself, was around gossiping like a schoolgirl, happy to tell people of other people's information. The words she called Sumire, was an insult to her.
With that, she stood in front of Ranmaru and took a risk as she was now standing in front of the Hokage. "Hokage-san, my heart goes out for that girl." Her voice was calm and sincere, the redness in her cheeks were slowly going down. Her sorrow was real as she remembered losing the only person she ever really loved, Ahmya. "I will not lie to you. The life stolen from her parents was not me. My ... smoke as you call it takes away life. Without revealing too much of my Clan, I can say, that we need bodies to help us get stronger. So what this was, was not me. I have not used my miasma since the Yokai attack this early morning with your fellow shinobi, Jyn. Even then, I made sure Jyn was protected by giving her a protected mask and it was controlled miasma. My goal was to take care of that Yokai, so if you were to go there, it would be ashes and dust." Sumire had set her miasma on fire to kill the Yokai, resulting in an explosion that obliterated life alike. She also liked it because it was better for things to regrow in ashes. "I wish to go with you, alone," Sumire added, made sure it was firm and strong that Ranmaru and Sei got the hint, "Or with shinobi of your choice, to investigate the bodies to see if it was from my Clan. If it was, I would like to help. Rogues Mahofu can be dangerous. They have no honor. Not only that, if they are leaving bodies instead of taking them, they are trying to send a message and I want to take care of them before that message gets too far. Someone may be trying to start a war." By taking care, she means killing them of course. Mahofu, while many people hated them, are usually reserved. They kill when they need to. After all, they love wars, for this reason, they are allowed to kill and their collection of bodies would vastly increase.
To her, killing a family for fun or to leave a message, was unforgivable, dishonorable, and she was going to take care of it.
"If it's not from a Mahofu, Hokage-sama, I still would like to extend my hand to help. As a way for our Nations and people to be united. Beginning of friendship."
After all, she was trained for this.
Her a*****e of a father had died when he was on the way to unite the Five Clans. While she can't do that just yet, this could be the first step.
The taller woman that had popped out of the vent had started to talk about the group of bodies they had found. What she found was bugs. That confirmed more that it wasn't a Mahofu that did this, the bugs would be dead too. Her eyes, soft and sad, but strong were resting onto Lahlil's pale and confident ones.'That poor child. If we arrived earlier, would it been possible we may been able to save the family? Her world would never be the same. I hope she heals better than I.' Even to this day, Sumire never fully healed to what happened to Ahmya.
Her heart was in her throat. She never stood up for herself before or interrupted for that matter. She half expected some horrible backlash.

Words. So many words. An office full of puffed up talkers. If these people were indicative of the nation they claimed to represent, then it was a country of mulling thumb-twirlers. The assumed authority of both the green-haired male and the black-haired female irked him to no end. Inwardly, he anxiously waited for the signal that Lahlil wanted them dead. He estimated he could break the man's neck before he knew what happened to him.
But, sadly, the melodramatic monologues continued.
Even when the quiet one threw her little tantrum, Karuto couldn't help but roll his eyes. So many theatrics, so much emotional drama- he could hardly take it anymore. These grandiose ideals and loft ambitions were as useless to him as a screen door on a submarine. His patience had been worn down, and he had been itching for a fight. Rarely did he get to let his inner berserker loose and now the perfect opportunity seemed to present itself. He would not let it slip past his fingers.
For the first time since he had walked into the room, Karuto spoke. His voice, deep and booming, rolled across the office like a thunderclap across the prairie. "Lahlil. Let me solve this problem for you" He crossed his arm in front of his chest, displaying to all that he was missing a portion of his right arm from the forearm down. Still, what remained of Karuto Raiken was in peak condition- even stronger now than he was five years ago. Unlike many of the shinobi of the world, his training was non-stop.

Apparently Sadayo missed on whatever secret hand gesture exchange between Lahlil and Karuto. The not-so-subtle art of blocking the door wasn't truthfully all that amusing. Oh. What now, a worn out question drones in her thoughts as she rolls her neck and eyes in sync. There seem to stand no end to mystery of our visitors who came to who speak of Yokai.
The woman took tabs on Lahlil's demeanor, her posture, to catch the facade of flashing smiles to borderline baring teeth. A slight bend of her brow came with the story stewing up and a wonder of whether or not strings would have to fly. At this rate, truthfully, Sadayo dreaded the thought of slapping stings onto Lahlil. The puppeteer's sudden control on the Shadow of Fire wouldn't sit well with their strongman colleague present. Reason being for the behavior of her own allies turns out to be a response from the same thing that even set Sadayo on edge. Was Sumire a jumpy person whose very consciousness, anxiety, and fears were so easily able to become her own undoing? But something awfully grave had unfolded and consequently a matter which hadn't reached the Director's attention but handled swimmingly, it seemed.
Ranmaru spoke. Why? Sadayo held her tongue knowing the little quips about ways to confirm the truth would only toss coals to the flame. Their escort spoke. Why? Offering tokens of good faith? Sugary, spoken assurances only held so much weight before caving into deceit. Clementia, the ventilation visitor, spoke. Social visitors and not even heard yet from the woman Lahlil looked ready to pounce on. Clementia skewed the topic into a verbal fork-in-the-road as she introduced another potential threat. "Bugs? Bugs and Yokai? Who is this? She's not one of ours is she?" As the woman of a list of lofty titles, Sadayo could not help but pry with a shallow tone of urgency. Granted, Sadayo hadn't refreshed herself with the roster lately. Clementia's interjection didn't fall into obscurity, oh no. Her warning of the insect threat made the back and forth among visitors filling the air more interesting. More concerning. A scale more grand to put up with.
The events transpiring were delicate however not proving themselves dicey enough to stir a puppet. But Sumire spoke, finally, with the vague detail of some abhorrent ability that sapped life for power. Sadayo closed her eyes and turned her head for the length of Sumire's testimony until the noise of someone else volunteering to investigate rang. Sadayo could only wait until Sumire's testimony concluded before speaking. "They must allow anyone to interfere with whatever matter one pleases in your homeland." Sadayo said without hesitation to show her skeptisim. Her expression slipped back into the straight-faced lie she seem to wear so well. The impassive BLAH was better than the alternative. "I'm not surprised the two of you have so eagerly expressed your willingness to help solve this crime. Naturally, because as I'd like to remind you that it is very much my jurisdiction of conducting investigations, I would typically refuse to allow any investigations concerning murdered villagers to get tangled up with forigeners out of the blue." Sadayo crossed her arms. Her head falling slightly into a tilt and her stare going back and forth from Sumire and the hired guards woman. "You will have Juei chaperons and leadership. I'd permit tracking and basic assistance where needed to get the case solved but I will not tolerate any tampering with evidence." Whatever evidence there was left, that is.

tab tab Plainly Lahlil kept her eyes on Sumire while largely ignoring the prattle going on around her. Had it been left up to either this Ranmaru or Sei Lahlil more than likely have been forced to actually show her hand. It didn’t do well to read the truth in someone’s thoughts if all their words consisted of nothing but half-truths and danced around giving her a straight answer. I mean honestly! It should have been obvious from the start that she suspected them all, so what good was it then to only hear that they had been within her company?
Luckily it was Sumire who proved not to be so inept. Her emotional outburst, while unrefined, was exactly what Lahlil needed to hear. The kage’s posture relaxed immediately and while she a tad sullen at that this was the outcome, she had prepared for it. Time for another trip to the ‘planetarium‘ I think. Once sitting once more Lahlil waved off her attack dog Karuto. “Thank you dear but that won’t be necessary. Sumire herself has already given me everything I need to prove her innocence, and might I say that I think you have a very bright future as a leader ahead of you. Probably the brightest in this room even.” Lahlil spoke directing the last bit at the woman in question. Any hint of malicious tones from earlier having disappeared from her voice. “Now then, since I think that Lady Sadayo has said it best already, I would like to have a private conversation with my new vent bandit here about a... insect problem.” As steady as her tone was Lahlil made sure to end it in a way that indicated she no longer wished to speak of other subjects.

To be clear this PA makes it so that as long as she has the activation and resources to do so, Lahlil can simultaneously cast another fuunin with flying thunder god or the fuunin shuushin.

You are able to discover things such as demon chakra, or the type of technique that is about to be active (Ninjutsu, Genjutsu, etc.), even specifics such as Bloodline type and rank from any active sensory technique. Ranmaru was startled out of his rage toward Lalhil when Seichiro spoke the most lewd and inappropriate things about Sumire. His voice was about to flare when Sumire beat him to the punch, and exploded at the two of them. Ranmaru closed his mouth and waited for her to say everything was within her. He noted the kage's frustration, and felt that it was merited. After all, while she was wrong to offend the honor of the royal's lineage, she was expected to have answers for her people. Therefore, when the three were dismissed, Ranmaru politely bowed. "Till we deal with the yokai." He said to her before turning to Sumire, since the three Zaishin agents would have been moved past the office and past Karuto.
"You'll strain your vocal chords yelling like that. Be more cautious of that the next time you take authority, and make sure to get the depth of your voice from your core instead." He said sternly. A smirk then crossed his face. "Otherwise, well done maintaining peace between Zaishin and Konoha, and proving yourself to be the proper heir to the Mahofu clan." He said with a clear, distinct bow toward the young Sumire. In all of his life he had never displayed such a feat of humility to the girl. "Perhaps next meeting I will be the one to pour the tea. It seems as though you have a great deal of important things to say." He said sincerely. Rage flickered into his eyes as he turned to Seichiro.
"You, however, may wish to have your tongue sliced from your mouth if you feel the need to speak such crude things about both the girl and her relation to fetishes and her father. One more comment of any kind will result in your exile from Zaishin and all Samurai titles." He said with absolute malice and fury. Her words, both with how she dared to claim that she was required to fight on his behalf, as well as the irresponsible things she said about Sumire, will not be forgiven any time soon. It seemed ludicrous that this person, who has proven themselves in the past and has earned enough of a reputation to be a silent assassin for the royal family, would act like a drunken sailor, unaware of their standing in the social ladder.
With no response from the tiger man, Sei took the camera and fixed it to her shoulder. Though inwardly she was having a bit of a small "kemono" moment. All her life growing up normal humans looked down on her kind yet, here one was classy as all get out, and apparently working as a receptionist of some kind. Nobody was messing with him, nobody was being dirty or vile with the man. Maybe it was different here, maybe it didnt matter? Letting out a light sigh she had no idea what was going on in that office but whatever it was it wasn't kind for sure. She could hear the shifts in tone of Ranmaru and the outburst from Sumire. Releasing her clone she sighed just a bit harder and set herself against the wall and waited. (growth)
Before long here it was, Ramaru was chewing into her, and she knew why, the clones actions were what they were. Though she did believe in the validity of that clones actions, after all they did think exactly like her. Once he was finished Sei motioned for him to follow her down the stairs. Once they were in the foyer she reached up and released the bow binding her ears in place and let them free and visible."I wont ask you to accept or forgive what I did. An actual advice? She frowned slightly when he said that she was proving herself to be the proper heir of her clan. That can't be. While she does care for some of the members and its people, she wasn't fit to rule them. After all, she was a woman. Now if she could find a husband that would be fit to rule them, Sumire would be able to resign and do her duty as a wife of that husband and hopefully, a mother. Sumire can't help but to look at Ranmaru in slight bewilderment when he said that he would be the one to pour the tea. That can't be. It was part of her job as a female. Then his eyes changed that made her tense up a bit. Rage. She knew that look too well for her father was full of it.
It wasn't directed at her. Her heart skipped a beat as she doesn't even look at Sei at all. "Thank you, Hogosha-san." With a soft smile, she headed out to meet with the chaperons to figure out what happened to that poor girl's family. And wanted no part in the conversation between Ranmaru and Sei. While the clone waited for the nobles and guard to leave which felt like forever at this point her radio went off as a familiar voice spike up and would update the clone about the situation revolving around the golden forests bug problem. As she expected the things did not put up much of a fight aside this one individual, not knowing about 8 gates she had no reference for the bugs appearance and skills. Informed her real body would take some time to arrive clem thought it best for her to be the messenger and to see if she could negotiate a few things maybe even a long standing contract if able or atleast. Allow her to get a home base around this area.

" I cant really confirm if these bugmen are yokai or some natural creatures but there are some that possess jutsu and tool making skills...there was also one that turned red emitting a good amount of heat... Anyways they seemed to travel within a thick mist it purpose i havent confirmed yet." Smiling the tall woman suddenly extended both arms outwards while a large smile slid across her face showing her confidence. " However working out a price later i can guarantee the safety of your village the numbers dont matter i can crush them in a instant on your command hell you can even send out a few ninja to confirm the results of my work what do yah say boss sounds like a steal if you ask me!!"

Ranmaru folded his arms and took a breath as Sei spoke to him to justify her actions. Her words nullified his fury, but overwhelmed him with shame. Seichiro was hired as a professional escort because she was supposed to recognized her place as a commoner. It was not her place to judge Sumire's character, let alone act upon her judgment in the midst of a professional meeting of negotiations. No matter what analysis the huntress had, this was not the actions of a proper commoner. "Seichiro. I recognize that our time together has caused you to be conditioned into believing that you have a sense of camaraderie with us. And I regret my behaviors which has caused you to be so terribly misguided." Ranmaru shook his head. He truly felt overwhelmed with grief. He recognized that this was all his fault. As a noble it was his duty to recognize that Seichiro had such grandiose delusions as to believe that she was equal in status to himself and Sumire. Had he not been so lost to his own self-interest he could have recognized this problem before it got out of hand and solved this problem sooner. "Your payment in full will await you at Zaishin. I will send word for it to arrive as soon as you do. But your services here are no longer required. As will your services no longer be required by myself, Sumire Mahofu, Tatsuko Raiu, and all who you may have clouded your placement with." His green eyes almost reflected something akin to a tear. "I pray you find your sanity again. And when you do, I look forward to call upon your services once more." With that, he was gone. He could not look upon his failure any further. He had to do something to distract himself. Perhaps the village had some proper alcohol. He could certainly use a drink.

There was something about the way Ranmaru that had left the Kage slightly ticked, her words so full of that 'I hold myself higher than you attitude' bugged her. But that was besides the point now. Snapping out of his trance Gado cleared the animalistic thoughts that being near another of his kind had brought on. By the time this happened however the tiger had lost his chance to make a connection. The woman, Seichiro was her name, was busy being chewed out by her comrades. Pretending to seem busy by affixing his time ascot tie in place, Gado waited for the noble gentleman from eailer to finish speaking. After all even here in the place where his power was greatest the man wouldn't dare to impress himself on a conversation between two important foreigners. Sich a disgrace would reflect poorly on his mistress indeed. Instead Gado would simply wait for them to be done, or if the pair would attempt to leave he wave from behind Ranmaru's back, hoping against hope to reclaim Sei's attention.

While the sight of him only raised an eyebrow, what made him even more confused was the fact that Sumire was not by his side. During the negotiations it made sense that she was being a proper hostess, but now that negotiations have ended it was clear that she should be back in her proper place. However, everything turned for the worse when Lalhil started threatening the group. The scholar man stood in front of Sumire to shield her with his body as he looked and faced Lalhil. "Do not insult me by calling my words lies." He scowled sharply. He knew that Sumire was a soft women and this display of aggression would undoubtedly make her recoil. Since this woman had no right to intimidate a Zaishin noble, Ranmaru took especial offense to this display. "Sumire's abilities, vile as they are, caused your people no harm. I have personally escorted her this whole way, as did our retainer Seichiro. So if you dare insinuate her again then there will be no peace between our nations. To which you may easily kill us, but then you'll have war to worry about next." He demanded. While Ranmaru lacked combat skills, he was not afraid of dying. The man had existed for centuries and the philosophical inquiry of death was actually quite interesting. But beyond death was his pride, and he would not allow that, or the pride of any of the five four royal clans to be tarnished by some tree hugging vampire who has no control of her own citizens.
