Ducky looked around, feeling much hapier than she ever been in her life. She had no idea as to why she was feeling this way, nor did she care at the moment. Her heart was all aflutter with the joys one can feel close to an aspect of the emotion, ‘love’. The female pae’il just tip-toes wherever she could go, even stopping at to play slots. However, she lost, but just one coin. Even that did not dampen her spirits!

“Such a beautiful night!” she exclaimed ans looked around, her eyes glazed over like the stars in the black skies at night, just shining for whatever reaaon beyond their own. And then her eyes caught a particular pae’il, and decided to approach the male. She wouldn’t before, but this intense feeling she had ever since she eaten from the chocolate fountain just wouldn’t go away!

“Um, hiiiiiiii,” the female giggles, brushing out her hot pink plaid skirt, pursing her lips.

His eyes lowered and he slowly let out his breath; honestly, he's not been aware he was holding it as he awaited her judgement. His hand slowly fell from his cheek to rest on it as he hesitated.

Was it really that simple?

Why would she want to spend any time with him if he'd hurt her like she said?

He didn't understand.

It wasn't a trick... was it...?

Looking back up to her, then to her hand, he took a few moments more before reaching up to take it with a single nod. He hadn't noticed it was shaking until he felt her warmth on his hands; it was as if their conversation has slowly made him cold. Like his words. Trying to not put too much pressure on it, he carefully stood up and steadied himself.

And once he was up, he let go.

Awkwardly looking away, he hid his claw behind his back and reached up to mess with a strand of his hair, now more messy than it had been due to the chase and all. "Ummm...." He was incredibly uncomfortable. "T-The chocolate fountain...? Then...?"

From above the party goers, a giant disco ball began to descend. Music filled the hotel lobby, the ball turning and raining lights all around them. Lower and lower it went, closing in on the floor. About half way there a loud ‘POP’ sounded and the ball exploded into a million little sparkles, continuing their descent. From within, Hymnaios appeared. He was dressed in a white and gold suit, the golden collar raising up and around the back oh his head in an exaggerated way. His shoes were larger than life and he seemed to sparkle just as brightly as the little bits of disco ball.



He flared his wings and lowered himself to the ground. From seemingly out of no where, a mic was in his hand and he began to sing a little tune. He strutted his stuff mid air, throwing yellow roses down to the maidens below. Ah yes, the stage. It could be anywhere! As long as he brought joy to faces, that was his stage.

Soon his feet met the ground and with a wink the song and dance ended, “Thank ya, thank ya ver-uh much. There’ll be more of that in the Concert Hall, babes.” With a flick of his wrist he stashed the mic and started on his path. There were some who were waiting on him.



He caught sight of Lannister first, though, and a smile bloomed up his face, “Ah, Lannister!” He announced, coming upon the other’s makeshift wedding chapel. He took a moment to inspect it, before slapping him on the back with pride, “Looks good on you. I’m almost jealous.”

He noticed Dovesong and Soaring Hope at this point, waving at the boys to come along, “How’s life treating you? I’m so glad you could get away to join us!” He said as he turned his attention back to Lannister. His usual act was down. When interacting with guests he was all show, but his own family would only ever get him. “I hope it’s not too much to ask of you. Honestly, your grandmother put a spin on us as well.”

Sora tugged on Dovesong, “H-hey, look up!” His squeaking could have easily been taking for excitement, but the giant descending ball was totally frightening. What in the world was it!? Were they going to get hurt!? He began to hunker down, lower and lower to the ground the closer it got-

The explosion made him give off a pitiful whimper, that stoped just as soon as he’d let it off. Was that? Wait, yeah. It was totally dad. Even though he was relieved there was now a part of him that was mildly impressed. Had he put all of that together himself? How’d he even manage it?

He waited patiently as his Dad did his thing. It wasn’t like Sora had anywhere to be. Then he paused to talk to someone, waving them to him. “Uhhh.” He tugged on Dovesong again. Guess they were being summoned? He was terrified of meeting the odd looking other, but he couldn’t rightfully ignore his dad. So, he began to slink his way over.

Amatus was stunned to say the least. After all the plotting and planning the twins had done and she just swept them away? Wait, wasn’t it the guy that was suppose to sweep the lady away!? Oh oh ohhh she wouldn’t get away with it that easily! Even so, how’d she manage to surprise and thrill him with a simple touch? It didn’t settle well with him.

Speaking of, his blood began to boil as his sibling dared slip an arm around Arelle. “You? I’m the master of serving! I’ll get her chocolate.” Since he was on the other side of her, he attempted to slap the other’s hand away in order to slink his own around her. Sadly, in the process, he managed to slam her into himself knocking the wind out of him. His arm quickly dropped so he could lean over and catch his breath and just like that she was gone.


Arelle wriggled her way out from the boy’s, “Geeze, you all are suffocating. Calm down. I can get my own chocolate, but we can go together.” She motioned them to follow, pushing her way through the crowd. Man, there were a lot of Pae here. The boys hadn’t been kidding when they talked about this thing! She was almost getting lost in all the action-

No she was getting actually lost. When she popped out of the crowd she ended up by a soda fountain instead. A deep frown appeared on her face before she shrugged. Might as well take some to go. She grabbed a glass sitting by it, before turning around to see if the boys had followed.


Amatus caught his breath and quickly headed into the crowd after Arelle. Not before pausing and shouldering his brother first, “Dude, you’re totally gonna turn her off! Be careful.” Whatever that meant. He didn’t give it two thoughts though as he rushed in after her. No way could they lose her! Thing didn’t always turn out so swell for these things- Hey! Who shoved him? Whoa! Again? Why was everyone being so rude!?

Oh, wait, now where was Erasmus!? Wait, was Arelle lost or was he!?

Following behind the group from Kekomura, a pint-sized, fuzzy, masked feline also found his way into Las Venus. He'd originally decided it was safe to take a night off from watching over the Thunder God's precious offspring when his curiosity had latched onto finding out where the four big Pae were going. The smaller ones didn't leave the home territory often, so what were they up to? Of course, their personal motives were soon forgotten as the tikicat's eyes were filled with the wonders (and all the shiny things) of Las Venus. What was that? Oh, that was pretty! Look at the food! So many bright colors and lights and large beings bustling about, Iokepa had to keep mindful lest one of them step on or trip over him. But that's okay. He was a warrior. Strong. Fast. Smart.

Ducking and weaving through the larger Pae's legs, the little masked tiki made a beeline for the buffet and one of several fountains on display. A heavenly scent seemed to be coming from this one and with the aid of the tablecloth, he managed to scramble up on top of the table to check it out. Hmm, there were other kinds of food nearby...you were supposed to dip them in the golden dripping concoction, he supposed, watching a couple of large Pae demonstrate. He could do that! Grabbing a piece of bread, he scrambled over to the fountain, leaning over the edge and reaching for the cheese below.

Perhaps it wasn't meant for small Pae of his stature.

Iokepa slipped, dunking not only the bread but part of himself into the cheese before scrambling backwards to safety. Cursed fountain! It lured him in! With it's delicious smells...and the food...and tasty golden deliciousness... He was eagerly licking the cheese from his hand and arm, the bread devoured, as he looked for a way to get more in a safer manner.

And why was he doing this again? Right, because Zin wanted to. And their boys wouldn't leave them alone about it. He sighed, still hesitating outside the brightly lit entrance to Las Venus. Really, couldn't they just have a quiet evening on the beach instead? Why that wasn't satisfactory, he'd never understand. He was only doing this because Zin wanted to; he certainly didn't want to attend another of these crazy events. After all, with what happened at the last one...

They'd been lucky not to end up hurt, with all the chaos and the horrible nightmare scape... He shuddered at the memory. At the risk of sounding over-dramatic, however, was it necessarily as bad as the personal nightmares he created for himself when left to sulk all alone in his hut? Zinerva's insistence that he get out and interact with the world more had saved him from the worst of those awful places, and though he still had a ways to go, he felt he owed it to her to at least attend a function or two when she asked it. In the long run, was that not part of the recovery process?

Okay, it was all justification and he knew it.

Taking a deep breath, the Fae squared his shoulders and entered Las Venus. The hotel was amazingly grand and just a glance around the lobby told of lavish comforts and flashy extravagance. Cabel had taken half a circle around the welcoming hall before spotting Zinerva. He didn't expect to see her looking so out of place or hesitant. Hadn't this been her idea? He was starting to doubt that, but was quick to move to her side. Putting an arm on her shoulder, he smiled and offered an apology. "Sorry I'm a bit late. Glad to see you had a safe trip getting here."

Normally, he would have escorted his date to the party, but this time, Phorcys had come to the party location a little early to scope out the location first. He'd felt that the lovely lady from the sea hadn't gotten the best first impression of the Isle at the gathering in Alu Spring and mentioned as much. When he'd gotten news of this grand land-dweller celebration, he'd figured it would be the perfect opportunity to try again to give her a good impression of Telrunya. That didn't mean he wasn't going to be a bit more cautious about it, especially given that land-dwellers were involved.

Taking advantage of his ability to travel on land for short periods of time, he'd come to Las Venus a bit early, then spent the time before the party started scoping out the area for possible dangers. He was a hunter; it was part of the job. He'd found nothing immediately dangerous though and as other Pae started to arrive, he figured he'd better find his date for the evening before she assumed him late or that he wasn't coming.

With a plate of lovely delicacies from the buffet, he'd rejoined the waterways that snaked through the lobby and found his lovely dark lady seated and waiting. "My dear," he greeted, setting the plate of food on the table. "I hope you had a safe journey from the lake?"

Midoriko shook her little pouch of tokens noting that, while it wasn't by much, it was definitely lighter after her attempts at the slot machines. Maybe her luck would get better with one of the other games. In the meantime, though, the call of the fondue fountain was like a siren's song, luring her away from the machines with their cheerful sound effects and flashy lights. Not that she hadn't been snacking the whole time between pulling the handle. Gods, she was hungry.

Not so casually, or even subtly, checking out the green-eyed demon that passed her on his way to try his luck, Midoriko actually turned and took a few steps backwards with a murmured, "Nice." With a little shake, she turned the right way round again and set her focus on the cheese fountain just in time to watch a tiny cat-like creature fall into the cheese. She lost it and let out a loud "Pfft!" before dissolving into a fit of giggles that was a long time in stopping. Struggling for composure, she picked up a wad of napkins (and some more hors d'oeuvres) and offered them up. "You know, you're supposed to dip food, not yourself.."

She didn't waver. She didn't leave. She waited for him to take her hand, and helped him to his feet.

With the conflict resolved, the pae around them began to leave. Perhaps they thought her odd for wanting to stick around him. But this was much more about him that it was her. Sure. She certainly did want to be around him in a way that she couldn't figure out. She wanted to kiss him, which confused her even more. But this wasn't about her. This was about him, and holding him accountable. It simply was the right thing for him to do, and her daddy wouldn't let him get away with anything less. And so she wouldn't either.

Aurelia nodded as her hand fell away from his, and nodded. "Chocolate fountain." So she turned and started the way, carefully checking to make sure he followed. The silence was a little awkward now, and it was time to break it. She was going to hold him accountable, but she was also going to have a good time. "So, how has your family been? You have...A sister right?" She paused thoughtfully, trying to recall the details. "And three brothers. I think I remember because I felt bad for your sister. All those boys. Have you visited them in Laisidhiel after you settled in Alu Springs?" Ahh, there was that fountain. It looked delicious.

Following he did, unable to meet her gaze, he first settled on her lower back.

But that was too much stimulus for him, brought back some heated memories he'd tried to forget, so instead he looked up to her shoulders and wings.In retrospect, he'd never really looked at a blood pae's wings before; they really were quite a bit different than faunies, weren't they? So much thinner... but larger? He couldn't quite put it into words...

"W-What...?"

His thoughts had trailed off and her words caught him terribly off-guard. His family? Had he he told her about...?

Oh yeah. Last year.

Why did she remember it in such detail?

"Uh..." he trailed off, thinking. "...I'm not sure. They haven't contacted me or anything..." he paused before anticipating what she would ask next. "...and I haven't really made an effort to contact them either... But it's probably more-or-less the status quo... Probably..." He figured someone would send word if something good or bad happened. "Why do you ask...?" Another pause; probably his turn to reciprocate. "Is your family well?" He was vague. Of course he was. For the life of him, he couldn't remember anything that they'd talked about last year.

"Oh. The chocolate fountain"

She looked over her shoulder at his initial confusion, but he didnt need her to reiterate, so she turned back. Well, that was sad. "I see. Im sorry to hear that.." She of course didnt have a ready answer as to why. Who asks why someone makes small talk? "Hm. I suppose because family is important. And Alu springs i imagine is really different from the tree, so theyd offer something familiar."

Is your family well. She blinked a little.

He straight up didnt pay attention to a word she said last year did he. Guardians she really was just a bit of tail to him.

She wouldnt call it out though. She had to let the whole... Slapping thing ease a bit first. "Ah fine. Still havent managed to move out. Change is hard ya know?" What to try first? Truthfully wellspring looked like he needed it more than her though with that sunken skin.

Zoran had absolutely no idea how to answer that. Was she crying because it was bad, or was she crying because it was good,?

He didn't know what the word 'girlfriend' meant.

He nervously looked around at the other people hoping to garner some clue or something that may have happened. He pet Fraise's head and hugged her tight. teehee He pondered if he should just ask her, or pretend so she wouldn't cry more.
"Cutie-pie, I don't know what you are asking me. If 'girlfriend' is a bad, scary thing making you cry, then no, because I don't want you crying if being my girlfriend scares you." He gently raised Fraise's chin up and smiled. "I don't want to scare you or upset you in any way. You are the love of my life and I would never upset you on purpose."

Never one to let the opportunity for a good time pass, Selich had, of course, heard about this grand celebration and, of course, decided to make an appearance, however unusual it may be. Planning accordingly, he opted to arrive on foot and so he'd carefully folded his sealskin, wrapping it around his waist as an exceptionally exotic-looking loin-cloth. He hoped the ladies, and maybe even some of the men, would appreciate his bare chest.

Smiling and promising to enjoy himself as he was handed his complimentary gaming tokens, Selich made his entrance. Sure, he was late but, as far as he was concerned, fashionably so. There was, however, one slight hiccup. Though there were quite a few pae present, there seemed to be quite a lot of pairing off going on already. While he was a terrible flirt, he wasn't a poacher and so, for the moment, he decided to check out those oh-so-interesting fountains, drawn especially to the one with the sparkling pale gold beverage. Grabbing a delicately fluted glass, he collected some of the liquid and gave it an experimental sniff...and nearly sneezed. In the interest of preventing any other incidents, he quickly downed the contents and was pleasantly surprised by the tingly sensation that went all the way down to his stomach and radiated warmth. Suddenly, he felt absolutely amazing. Best party. Best drink. Ooh, look pastries! Practically skipping, he approached the sweet table and said, "Excuse me," to the nearest pae, a pretty female. "Which of these would you say is the best one?" he asked, indicating the spread.

Iokepa had found another piece of bread and had a fast grip on that while still cleaning the cheese from his other arm. He was mid-lick when a voice interrupted him and he turned curiously, tongue still sticking out.

...

He blinked a few times at the taller Pae. He'd been searching for a stick or something he could use to dip the bread, but he forgot about his search for a moment. He reached for the napkins, never taking his eyes off of her. "T'rang bak ganna ni--" Oh wait, no...she wouldn't understand his native tongue. Of course. Frowning for a moment, he tried to recall the few words he'd been picking up from the larger Pae and their common tongue. After a moment, he just sighed and shrugged, looking resigned.

"Food...tricky."

Why would she be sorry to hear that? It wasn't as if any of this impacted her personally in any way; it was just small talk without any real meaning. The same things everypae asked but never actually cared about. He could have the same conversation with the same person on 10 different occasions and nothing would change.

Honestly, his life in the Springs wasn't terribly different than that in the Tree.

He was still largely a recluse.

He still didn't particularly have any friends.

If anything, it was just different scenery and a location with less pressure, so it was marginally more tolerable than the tree, he supposed. But he was still expected to behave in some ways as would be expected if he'd never left; he was a representation of the Tree by extension, after all. He couldnt do anything that would reflect poorly on it.

Reaching around to rub his other arm, he nodded. "Yeah... I know..." He knew that very well. Biting his lip, he searched through his memory to try and recall anything they might have talked about to ease the awkward silence. At this rate, he was just going to ruin her night as well.

Would she slap him again if she did?

It was no good... the entire night seemed like a haze to him in his memory; he could recall the emotions, but not the substance. Only one conversation was even remotely clear. One not unlike this. "Uh..." He swallowed, a lump in his throat. This was probably an insensitive thing to ask, but it was all he had to go on. "H-Has your brother... come home yet...?"

This was unbearable.

Starshine had gotten a glass of water and started to wander around. There were so many different Pae here. He had high hopes of finally finding someone who looked like him.
He was wandering past one of the other fountains when he saw one.
He walked up to him just as he stuck a finger in the fountain.
"Hey! I'm Starshine. What's your name?"

Nurse Redheart smiled as she saw her son finally talking to someone. He really needed to go out and make friends. Now it was her turn. She had some food in her belly. So she got a glass and had some more Champagne from the fountain. She took a glass with her to the slot machines.She hasd just gotten to the area and stumbled into someone.
"Oh sorry. I must have tripped."

Raspberrina was tired of walking so she went to pool to swim.
She swam over to the food table.She took a few things and ate them fast.
Walking had been a lot of work. She was a little tired now. She noticed someone with very bright colors and decided to have a chat. She swam over and smiled.
