Mavis couldn't help but chuckle a little at officer's declaration of going for the "expensive coffee". Though in the lieutenant's opinion the entire menu was fairly reasonably priced. Well now I know what devious smile looks like on a cat if I resign myself to be a crazy cat lady. She thought upon seeing Zhang's grin. However that grin didn't last long as at the mention of her illness the diminutive officer switched from devious to nervous. The awkward chuckle or nervous laugh was nothing new to her, despite being immortal many still felt weird talking about it.
At the officer's next comment Mavis laughed again, mostly because she puffed out her cheeks. "But you're so cute, if I were 70 years younger and not you superior I would ask a cutie like you out." Mavis stated with a smile, but these were more or less falsehoods. The truth being Mavis wouldn't let anyone close to her heart, less she cause their death next time she was supposed to die. This fear had driven her to push even her daughter and grandchildren away, though in recent years the closest thing to a near death experience she had had was dying of boredom.

Taking another mouthful of cake, Chi eyes went wide with her cheeks just burning in embarrassment as Tomlin asked her why she needed liquid courage, she almost choked. "N-no nothing like that!" His eyebrow raise causing her to get all the more flustered with his questions, he said that they were friends and that indeed made her feel good if only she could shift the lump of cake that felt as if it was now clawing its way down into her stomach like a lead weight as her wiggle movement stopped. " I don't have a boyfriend or a girlfriend, i am currently single without a budding relationship i don't know why that would matter among friends, the reason is i work at a restaurant it gets somewhat busy and thats when i find having a drink the night before kinda helps me to deal with the day.. yes we did share a cake couples do that too, i'm curious why are you so interested if i am in a relationship or not? you aren't trying to romance me with the lure of more cake are you?" Chisei joked whilst being semi flirty and cheeky playfully seeing what he would do in response.
Tomlin Heywood In response to her question about whether or not he was trying to romance her, Tomlin offers a bit of a smile to Chi. "And if I was trying to woo you with sweet treats?" He chuckles. "Maybe I'm just seeing how close you'll let me get right now. I'd need to know my chances in order to do that, though. Hmm...maybe all this has been me working to make you comfortable enough that you'd say "yes" if I asked you out." He maintains eye contact with her the whole time he speaks. That would definitely be interesting, don't you think?"
He pauses to take another bite of the cake. "Sorry, I don't mean to embarrass you. I was just trying to make a fun conversation. I like to tease every now and then. I hope I'm not making you too uncomfortable."

Was he testing the water? she really could not read him that his words just confused her, was he serious or was he joking? it was not a case of being uncomfortable in the situation more that she had never experienced a situation such as this. "How close you will get? id say this is the closest i've let anyone get so i must be comfortable" His eye contact felt like it bored deep into her as if peering into her very soul, she could not look away and placed the glass down, " if indeed you are trying to make me comfortable to ask me out i would not be adverse to it in fact id definately would like to try it out" She spoke giving a genuine smile even if he was teasing it was sweet.
Tomlin Heywood Hearing her say that she was indeed comfortable, Tomlin smiles, a bit relieved at that. "Alright, then." Tomlin responds to her final statement. "Then how about, tomorrow once you get off of your shift, you and I go have dinner together?" He asks, feeling that he had won her over at least to that point. "Tonight, we can enjoy a nice drink together. Tomorrow, a nice dinner, with the biggest slice of chocolate cake the restaurant has. And you'll get the bigger part then." He chuckles, then takes the last bite of his part of the coffee cake. As he spoke, he continued looking into her eyes, showing that he wasn't phased by her bad eye in the slightest. He was indeed studying her, making sure that he wasn't crossing any lines. He was here to give her a good time, so it wouldn't do, in his mind, if he moved too quickly with her. By studying her, he could move at her pace, as far as she wanted. And so far, it seemed to be working.

Like a sledgehammer, Tomlin dropped a bombshell that made both her cheeks redden and her eyes looking like she was about to cry tears of joy, she had nearly become speechless before her mind returned to reality after processing what he said,
" A date? even with me looking like this?"
she asked. Chi was definitely won over that she was blushing so hard she even giggled when he said chocolate cake she had finished the coffee cake and could feel his glance fully as she stared drirecty into his eyes, well as good as she could with only one working eye she smiled. "Well i haven't scared you yet so yes it's a date, i work at the restaurant so uhn do you want to wait for me at the restaurant Tomlin or would you rather meet me at my home so i can shower and change?" His eye contact made her slightly nervous but in the most sweetest of ways, she didn't think him the type to insult her or harm her and his voice made it so easy to trust him as being truthful " I guess i will be needing the liquid courage after all, thank you Tomlin" She chuckled.
Tomlin Heywood He chuckles at her first questions. "Yes, even with you looking like that. That is only a small part of you. There's a lot more to you than that." He listens to her next question, and thinks for a moment. "Sure, I can meet you at your house if you want to change out of your uniform before going out." He responds. "I'll just need to know when you get off, where you live, and how long I should give you to get ready." Hearing her final comment, he chuckles with her. "You and me both." He responds. "I might need something to keep myself more calm." He felt himself getting more excited at her agreeing to go out with him, and wanted to avoid making a fool of himself if possible. Suddenly collapsing in the middle of a conversation would definitely do that. He smiles at her gently. Noticing her cake was finished, he speaks up again. "Want to go ahead and hit the bar, then?" He asks. "Get some liquid courage?"

" Do you want me to write it down? i can write it on your napkin if you like?..I don't take that long to get ready, i just usually have my shower after work and put on comfortable clothes, but if you insist it i could wear a dress "
Chi spoke a little more confidently in that she was blatantly flirting this time as she began writing details down on the napkin to place it into his pocket using the pen she had in the breast pocket of her work outfit and passing it to him. "More calm? i thought you were doing better than me unless there's something you are hiding?" Chi stood up and walked around the table to offer her hand to him, " I am game if you are, maybe i will even kiss you" She chuckled.
Tomlin Heywood "Yeah." He answers her question of asking to write down her address. Once she had done so, he looks at it, then pockets it. In response to her last question, while also taking her hand, he gives her a confident smile. "Well, I am taking a pretty woman out on a date. That's exciting in its own right." He stands up, looking just slightly down at her due to the slight difference in their height, no more than an inch. "You may very well get my heart racing, so something to slow it will help counter my curse." He chuckles. "Oh, you might kiss me? Well then, let's go." He walks with her to the door, leading the way to the bar. ((Exit))

" well try not to over do it..i'd hate this night to end badly" And with his company she was off to the bar
Zhang rocked her feet back and forth as she waited for a waiter or waitress to take their order. In the mean time, she kept her focus on Mavis due to their conversation. She declared that she would get the most expensive thing on the menu which got a chuckle out of her. It was sad however for there was nothing expensive on the menu, all were fairly priced.
What Mavis said next cause the cat to get all flustered and shy. D-did Mavis just... confessed to liking me? Oh my gods oh my gods.... Her cheeks grew red as her mind continued to process that thought. She could have said that just to cheer her up or was it the truth? Hehe... well... you're weird than for liking a cat She joked to ride the weirdness she felt.

Watching her subordinate's reaction to her words caused Mavis to lean forward with a playful smirk. She is cute as a button normally but this flustered kitten look is just to adorable. She thought as Zhang called her weird for liking a cat. Allowing a slight look of surprise to overcome her expression, "oh you're a cat? And here I thought you were just a sweet young woman stuck in a cat's body. But if you're a cat cursed to act human I suppose it is weird for me to find your personality attractive." Once again Mavis's mental walls shot up as to much truth was coming out. Thus after her little false surprise act she'd return to her playful smirk.
This group of officers had gotten closer to the lieutenant than any others, thus she found herself actively having to stop from flirting or getting close. While yes she'd begun to grow lonely, 70 years of only seeing people at work will do that, she was worried about her curse. Mavis no stop it, Zhang is off limits like everyone else. If you think you care about her push her away. Mental Mavis was right of course, she'd decided to stay alone. No wonder solitary confinement gets to people.
Hurrying across the street a look of concern spread across Dean's face. Once he was on the side walk in front of the cafe he looked around as if he was trying to find something... or someone. "Damn it Kasey..." he cursed under his breath before leaning back against the front wall of the Kona Cafe. With a deep sigh Dean adjusted his low ponytail and opened the first two buttons on his shirt. After running around town for over 2o minutes searching for his brother he was started to feel a bit hot and tired. Usually Dean would just send Kasey a quick text when he disappeared to make sure he was good, but Kasey being the dumb@ss he was now and then left his phone on the kitchen counter.
Now to most Dean's panic would look way over protective, and maybe it was, but they didn't understand his and Kasey's situation. Yes Kasey was an adult but he acted so childish, and his curse was pretty unstable. Honestly it wasn't that Dean was worried that Kasey forgot to take some sort of drug, because usually Kasey always carried some pot on him. It was more that he was worried that he might over do it and end up getting somebody else hurt by accident. Dean couldn't help but to chuckle a bit at the thought, because he realized how much of a hypocrite he was being. His curse was just as harmful to others as Kasey and yet there he was panicking about his 20 year old brother as if he just lost his own child in a park.

xxxMarisa hummed to the song she was listening to, phone in hand and earphones plugged in. She was on her way to Kona Cafe for her first day on the job. She had sent in a resume prior to moving and was accepted as a waitress. She was excited, to say the least.
xxxThe cafe came into view as she walked on. The outside was beautiful and, from what she had read up on the cafe, the inside was just as grand. She paused the song that was playing, unplugged her earphones, and pocketed them into her coat. She started playing with the straps of her backpack as she got closer, wondering if anyone was already there.
xxxShe suddenly heard someone curse, although it wasn't that loud, just as she was about to approach the door. She looked to the side and saw a man with dark brown hair tied in a low ponytail. He sighed deeply, seemingly having trouble with something.
xxxMarisa debated with herself, wondering if she should talk to him or not, but ultimately decided to let him be. It made her feel guilty leaving him alone outside, but she knew she shouldn't nose into other people's business.
xxx"I hope I did the right thing..." she muttered to herself, her stomach churning with guilt. She caught her reflection in the glass and found her eyes turned into a murky gray that matched her current emotions.
xxxShe furrowed her eyebrows but shook her head, opening the door and entering the cafe. Exhaling deeply, she put on a more positive mindset as her gray eyes slowly melted back to bright purple. She tried not to dwell on the man outside, silently praying to any divinity out there to send someone else his way.
xxx"I guess I should get to work." she said to herself as she walked past the lobby and behind the counter. She took off her coat and placed it on the back counter along with her backpack, keeping everything neat and tidy. Grabbing one of the aprons, she put it on and started tidying up the counter while waiting for other people to come in.

It being a new day, Eve makes her way into the cafe to get something to eat. It seemed appropriate, somehow. Sitting at a table, she waits for a waitress to come over, then places her order: Mountain Dew, a french toast bagel with regular cream cheese, and one of each item on the bakery list (croissants, muffins, and cookies). Receiving a strange look from the employee, especially due to the deadpan manner in which Eve placed her order, the waitress goes off to prepare the order. Eve meanwhile waits patiently on her order, enjoying the prospect of a sizable quantity of sweet things.
