I first encountered it somewhere when I was in primary school, but I was like, "what's that?" when I first saw two boys kissing in the boys restroom. And when I told my parents they said it was "Forbidden Love". I was a bad child, so I loved it when I heard it was "Forbidden". Every since I thought it was the cutest thing I ever saw! It took my friends awhile to see the same views, but no, when I first saw it I wasn't really creeped out or uneasy.

I was a little creeped out by the whole thing at first. sweatdrop But, when I went to convention (the first anime con I went to, actualy) they showed a really funny Gravitation AMV. I felt the need to watch Gravitation after seeing it, and thus was hooked. Oh yeah, I was 11. xD

I first started liking it when I saw something about Gravitation, so I bought the book and I'm like oh my gosh its two guys, awww so cute. Then I watched Gravi, then Loveless, Sukisyo, Princess Princess, and before I knew it I loved it.

cynbaby I knew I liked it ever since I started reading the last herald mage trilogy by mercedes lackey. whee Go mercedes lackey! She rules. I think that was my first literary exposure to yaoi as well. Even though i actually do know gay people in real life.

I never had a problem with gay men, it was females doing it that made me queesy. I also refused to read any slash fanfiction when i first discovered it. Then I got bored... I fell in love with the thought after one adorable Mirai Trunks/Gohan fic. And now I love gay men doing such acts. I have even gotten over y squeemishness with yuri too (mainly because I now know that I want to participate xp )

Hmmmmm, I seriously can't remember what I first thought... I know it made me squeal and be all, overjoyed. xD Butttt, I guess it's because the whole homosexual thing has been surrounding my life, even before I watched any yaoi?

I was creeped out at first. Just because it was out of the norm for me. But then I started to really like it, and now I'm a huge fan.

At first it did, because I was raised that you didn't do that kind of thing. Slowly I grew out of it, especaly when my best friend told me he was gay. I decided to see what I could do to understand him more better, so I did research, and found my first fic at 16 or 17, can't remember. Anyway...I looked for more and more and now I read as much as I can and even make an effort and write/draw something. So, yes I guess that is about it.
P.S. Also helped me to relize who I am as well. heart

iwanttobeasleep Did gay guys kissing and doing. . .other things. . .creep you out, even a little? I know it did for me, but I got used to it and now, here I am. I'm curious, because I am off the opinion that the reason most women aren't into yaoi/BL is because it's strange to them and thus creepy the first time around, and gets avoided after that. I thought it was HOT. Plain and simple......
No. It's bloody brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Seriously, it was a bit wonky at first, since I saw the real thing before seening it in mangas and TV. But now, I just think it's amazing.
People are raised with different values. I think those who don't like yaoi are those raised as/by prudes, that's all.
Cheers, love!

I'm pretty sure I've never been bothered by it. If I had been bothered by it, then I wouldn't like yaoi as much, huh? xP But, seriously. I started to read Gravitation, and I was all like, "Woah." But not in a bad way though. xD I think my parents don't like the idea of homosexuals, and none of their children are so that's all good for them. But they don't know what I do in my room. >D
