Pae'il Name: Himeros Day: 1 Who is engaged? Random Naga
Finally, it was time.
A year. A year their mother had been missing. And while they hadn't always been on the best of terms, in the end, she was his mother and he was her son. And when others turned their back, slandered his name, made him a laughing stock...she'd been there to back him up.
In the end, wasn't that what mattered?
Himeros had found little on his own, but now that some leads were being followed...well, he'd have other work he could do. Maybe he wasn't the warrior that Kleta and Phaenna were, but...there were many types of Lust.
Some called one version a 'bloodlust.'
Eros' speech was nice and stirring, however, Himeros' eyes remained fixed on his bowstring, checking the tautness, the line of sight, selecting an arrow with an appraising eye. No, not one of those arrows. The normal stabby kind.
The tension was building...when the energy of the crowd seemed near fit to burst, the doors were thrown open and Venus' supporters flooded into the temple. Taking wing, Himeros soared upwards and selected a high vantage point with a clear view of the ballroom within. He drew, took aim, then fired swiftly, reaching for another arrow.
The fury was building, the desire to reach primal urges constantly fought down, the pounding of his heart, echoing in his ears as adrenaline surged...
By Olympus, he needed to get laid after this.

Pae'il Name: Aglaia Day: 1st Who is engaged? Naga fighting just behind the front lines
So Aglaia may not have been the dutiful Grace she was meant to be. It pained her to not be. Mother was the most important being on this island. She saved me. But it was the single mistake she made last year that kept the timid Grace of Beauty in hiding for most of the year. She shot her mother's fiance with an enchanted arrow, and a season later, mini Adonis clones show up. Aglaia knew she was dead when Venus found out.
Now when she talks about hiding out for most of the year, what she really means is she stayed home on Dolandar, in her own little corner of the vast estate that housed Venus' Retinue, raising her own little muse. Maybe Venus would be less cross and forget the nonsense with the arrows when she meets her granddaughters.
It had taken a few months to realize Mother was not just upset or hiding or doing spontaneous Venus things, but that she was really missing, like really missing. She'd done what she could to search. Truthfully, she could have done more, but she was focused on her own daughter mostly.
Speaking of Aliza, she'd wanted to help fight to have her grandmother return, but when she heard her aunt Thalia needed someone to watch over her twins, Aliza all but jumped at the chance. Babysit, not war.
News from Eros that they were finally going to band together to get the temple back was actually welcomed. She'd missed her dear mother, and her alter at the temple. She also hated those snakes. Those disgusting lil pawns of ....
... Eris.
Okay, maybe charging in to battle was a bad idea. The thought of the big purple wings and the wrinkled hands caused Aglaia to start breathing uncontrollably heavy. She squat down, wrapping her arms around her knees and rocked a little. She repeated the mantra her mom taught her to calm her down. "Eris has split-ends. Eris needs a bath. Eris has no friends. Eris will feel my wrath." It worked, if only slightly, to help Aglaia replace the scary monster with a frumpy, ugly pae. But still, she didn't want to actually see her.
Standing up, she pulled an arrow with pink fletching from her small quiver. These arrows had a different kind of enchantment this year. The arrow tip wasn't sharp, but instead looked uncannily like a powder puff. A lil bomb that when it comes into contact with someone, or something, explodes in in a storm of baby powder and perfume. Naga had a sensitive sense of smell so maybe this tactic could lower their defenses enough some other pae could do the dirty work.
From behind the frontline infantry, Aglaia fired an arrow up and past the Naga's front line, causing a big burst of a pleasant smelling dust cloud.

Pae'il Name: Tembikai Day: 1 Who is engaged? Prisma extremely!
Tembikai was ready to fight, ready to defend the place he'd been born in. He didn't really care about his father, but Venus' brats weren't going to take this place from them. This was where he and his siblings hatched, and they would fight to the death to keep it from those ridiculous deities.
Tembikai was ready to fight. He was not prepared, however, for the brightly colored fae that came at him and, instead of attacking, hugged him. And seemed to speak an entirely different language. "dance? What makes you think there will be dancing?" He smirked and shoved her away. "This is why Venus will lose. All her followers are insane! What language are you speaking, anyway?" he yelled and surged forward, fangs bared. "I'll have fun once the floor is soaked with blood!" he sneered as he attacked her. He hoped to soon have blood dripping from his fingers.
Bonus Claimed: day 1, double roll for Angwi Clan Naga! damage dealt: 21

Pae'il Name: Sen'ka Day: 1 Who is engaged? Sparrow
Sen'ka felt a sick satisfaction as her claws met feather and flesh. Yes, this is what it felt like. This is what her parents had preached to them time and time again. Once they had felt this moment they would understand why they had practiced so hard. Sen'ka didn't know if it had been a lucky shot or if she actually had a change to do some damage, either way she allowed herself a moment of satisfaction in it.
That was before they began to spin. How in earth did these creatures keep it together by doing things like this? She gave off a throaty growl, her mind racing with how to come back at this. With her tail gripping the female with such strength she wasn't worried about going down without her. That's when it hit her. If they were going to go down she'd make sure it happened with her on top.
With her head spinning she wasn't fast in catching the attack to her own stomach- sustaining a nice cut before she managed to jut out her behind, thus pulling her stomach away. She gave a frustrated grunt. That burnt! How many of these could she handle!? If she could just get back onto the ground this wouldn't be a problem... So she'd have to help them make their way back towards the ground. Even in her dizzy state she managed to throw her shoulder into the other's stomach. Hoping for the distraction, she then curled her way around the other's mid section so she was behind her, constricting her a bit with what length of her she had left. As she tightened, she buried her claws into the other's wings. "Land!" she yelled, trying to shove at them or claw out some of the feathers. Just something that would get them back down.
Evidently she didn't understand wings, nor was this her best strategy. Guess frustration was starting to get the best of her.

Pae'il Name: Empress Nadira Day: 1 Who is engaged? Sen'ka and Sparrow (for now, though someone else is about to intercept)
He may have been her mate, but there were still times she found him a bit foolish. Let the male parade out in front and draw attention. He had a sword. He'd be fine. And if not, he didn't deserve to lead anyway.
She had not become Empress by being a fool.
While the Emperor's speech echoed through the ruinous ballroom, the Empress slipped away. Into the shadows, the mottled lighting working perfectly to camouflage her scales. She coiled around one of the columns...silly, decorative things they were, but perhaps useful if the enemy were coming to them. Foolish prey, to chase the predator. A little ambush would be a nice surprise for her future dinner after this was all over...
Coiled around the top of the column, hidden in the shadows of the arching ceiling, the Empress waited for her chance to strike. She noticed some movement around another column, a flash of orange and brown dawned recognition. Seema. Clever girl, she thought to herself with a flicker of pride. Don't face them down when you can come at them from above.
Though they were outnumbered, for the most part her children seemed to be fairing as well as expected. Except for the airborne battle that soon passed into view. Eyes narrowing, Nadira's glare fixed on the harpy, one of her girls tangled in its talons. What a brightly colored chicken...her feathers would make a lovely addition to her necklace.
Tensing, the Empress coiled, aimed, and sprung.

![User Image](https://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c372/Fifth_Age/Paeil/certed/mythical/nyra.jpg)
Pae'il Name: Nyra Day: 1 Who is engaged? Empress Nadira (and indirectly Sen'ka and Sparrow)
The winged bird-like Pae had been trailing the twins for hours. Silly boys. Where they go this time? They probably thought they'd given her the slip. But not Nyra! Nyra was a great hunter and tracker! So great, in fact, that it amused her to see how long she could follow them before they realized they were not as alone as they seemed to think they were. Hmm...was this good hunting ground? No...this seemed to be something else's territory...
She had no history with the area personally, but little did she know she had a connection with this place. All Nyra knew was that the boys were becoming far less interesting as they progressed. There were other Pae...no, they were not what interested her...
Dark things.
Stink like dark forest.
An aggressive hiss accompanied the realization. What was this large building ahead. What were these Pae doing here? Curious, though her instincts were being set on edge, she hovered nearby long enough to put together that these Pae were going to attack...something.
The battle that erupted soon after was nothing short of incredible.
Nyra's instincts were screaming...even if she'd wanted to, there was no way she could leave here now. The boys had disappeared into the chaos and her attention was elsewhere, namely on these large snake beasts that reeked of darkness and foul corruption.
Stink like rotten things...
Eyes narrowing, she turned flapped her wings, raising herself above all the action to watch. Her talons dug in to one of the columns, one clawed hand helping to balance her at her vantage point. The battle waged below, though it seemed to be rising into the air as well. Just below, one of the smaller snake things was fighting with...was that another...like her? She'd never seen a Pae'il like herself before. Lots of other kinds, but not like her. She felt only curious, not knowing this creature in the slightest. What was she? Who was she?
But most importantly...
...could she fight?
The answer to that seemed to be 'yes'.
Well, she couldn't have all the fun.
A flicker of movement drew the monochrome harpy's eyes upward. Another snake thing, this one larger than the rest, dropping towards the pair with claws and fangs bared. She REEKED of darkness, setting Nyra's feathers on edge. Without a thought, the harpy released her hold on the column and dove to intercept the giant snake in her downward plummet, letting loose an ear-piercing screech just before impact sent them both tumbling through the air.
