[Discussion] parent's reaction when they saw you liked Yaoi?

I think my dad know about it, but I'm not sure wether or not my mum does. My siblings know that i both read, write and look at yaoi but they don't care as long as I don't do it in their presence. I think my dad's like that too, he doesn't care as long as I don't do it in front of him. 3nodding

Once my youngerst sister (she was 12 at the time) asked me what I was reading and when I told her that it was yaoi, she wanted to know what it was in swedish (yeah, i live there), i said something like "easily explained, it's cartooned gay porn" and she just scrunched her face up and went "ewwwww". I'm evil, I know twisted

No one that I know knows I like yoai or any thing like that they would totaly freak out.

I used to hide it, quite well in fact, but then one day I just randomly put a very yaoilicious picture on my desktop, just to see it they would notice, my dad noticed it right after my brother did, and his reaction was something like this:

They can't do anything though....I can always get them back, and they are very open minded (thankfully) ^_^

so when ever we go out and she spots a gay/gay looking guy shes always like "hey, theres your freind." haha i donno like i've said she just thinks im weird~ xDD

They found out I liked Yaoi about the same time they found out I was gay. My dad didn't say anything, and my mom yelled at me ALOT. (She actually doesn't really like talking to me anymore ><)

My roomate (KaitouOrion) had a different situation. Her mom was all like, "Okay, you're really really wierd...How can anybody like to watch Guy on Guy?" and she was like, "You like Gay guys". Her mother responded with a "Of course I like gay guys, but I don't like to watch them make out...." and her dad kept trying to pretend he was gay so she would like him more --;;

My parents are homophobics. I don't really understand their point of view. I hide the fact the I like yaoi from them.

Nobody in my family knows, thankfully. I don't know how they'd react precisely, but I think my brother is homophobic. I really don't feel like finding out their reactions if they knew. My dad will sit and chew something to death and drive me nuts until I want to hit him or something. Since he has better reflexes than I do, this isn't a good idea. I don't know if my mom would mind, she's kind of passive about most things.

Fortunately, I have my own computer, my own space (upstairs), nobody but my mom has any reason to come up very often and my mom has a bad knee and is nice enough to announce herself.

Come to think of it, she might suspect. She always says something like "I'm coming up! Hide anything you don't want me to see."

i told my mom and she said just as long as its not teaching me anything to bad then she doesn't care what i read or watch so now i have like free reign to get and watch like 18+ stuff but i find that the 16+ has a much better story line

My mom didn't say anything, and my dad said, "So you like gay anime guys, is that what that means?"

I don't think they grasp that it's gay porn, though.

My parents would be very angry with me. sweatdrop But I just keep in on my shelf with the rest of my Manga and they never notice that it's there. Though my mom looked threw my Love hina comics one time and I could just see the thought running threw her head. "Is my Daughter a lesbian?" Of course I'm not so it was quite funny to see that look on her face.

Well... they sort of found out in a roundabout way a few years ago, when I was twelve I believe. They pretty much just reacted by telling me not to go to the website where I was getting it (which was FF.net, at the time). They kinda forgot about it, though. I don't think they'd really care any more than if they found out I was looking at het porn/hentai all the time. Actually, I'll read any hentai comics, etc, as long as they aren't extremely violent, grossly exaggerated, or just stupid. I really don't look at graphic yaoi that much anyway, and they wouldn't have much of a problem with the PG-13 stuff. The only reason I haven't told them I'm bi is 'cause even though I'm attracted to guys and girls, I've only actually dated girls.
