the last time i completely read a book where i disliked most of the characters was Alchemyst my Micheal Scott [i think?]

anyway. I actually found the story to be okay but I abhorred the two main characters.

anyway. I actually found the story to be okay but I abhorred the two main characters.

Well, the main character Tavi is the only non magical person, and he's pretty interesting. He gets into all sorts of trouble, and he's the captain of a legion currently, and his soldiers are pretty cool.

Then there's this other character Amara who's like sappily in love with Tavi's uncle Bernard. Alone, both characters are awesome, but together they're sickening. And their hardly ever alone.

And then there's Tavi's aunt Isana. Who is just terrible as a character. Thankfully she's not got a lot of parts in this book. So far, at least.

So really, I only like Tavi.

I start reading Gates of Fire by Steven Pressfield.

He has so far made Spartan life seem boring.

They're Spartans. They don't need to have anything explained. They line up in phalanx and doesn't afraid of anything.

He wrote it wrong.

A girl at work lent me The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova, not too bad so far

I just finished two really bad romance books (horribly written by usually good authors) in two days. "Any Man of Mine" by Rachel Gibson and "Can't Hurry Love" by Christie Ridegway. I don't get it, this seems to happen with every author I like (even non-romance genre):

The author writes a couple books, gets on a couple lists in the top-ten and then everything goes to s**t. Aka: no plot, no dimension, no ending(?).

I am ashamed.

I started reading At Home: A Short History of Private Life by Bill Bryson sometime ago, but his rambling about British stuff I don't know about made me stop for a little bit.

Eh, I'm not a reading person...nothing in the world seems to make me finish a fiction book.

Just finished The Warrior Heir by Cinda Chima.
I'm about to start the next book in the series, The Wizard Heir.
sure it's Juvenile Fiction, but I can't handle anything too deep with 21 hours sweatdrop

I finally finished 'The Hunchback of Notre Dame' by Victor Hugo (in English) after 2 and a half years.
So I decided to pick up 'La Morte d'Arthur' By Thomas Malory, I keep picking it up and putting it down and reading other stuff. So I'm also reading 'The Single Girl's To-Do List' by Lindsey Kelk at the same time.

I balence the heavy reading with something lighter, I'm terrible for reading multiple books at once.

It took me forever that book. It's worth persevering through though, but the structure does get a little bit, and then we found this, which lead us to this, where we found this other thing which made us think this...ect ect.
The Ending is good though.
