Bray shocked him with suck blunt denial and conviction. He was adamant about never biting someone, that was sure. "Then I don't know what to do" he admited softly, laying his head on Bray's shoulder. "You won't bite me, and if I'm bitten by someone else we'll be on different patterns. And you'd never be with me as I am, right? You want a werewolf?"

Rayn laid his cheek on Bray's shoulder so he was looking at the other's face. he wanted to see just how Bray would react. Whether the wolf boy said he wanted Rayn, or said he wanted nothing to do with him, Rayn wanted to know the other's face as he responded.

"I'm sorry..." Bray said lowering in his head in defeat. "Its not that I don't want to be with you, I do, humans have such short life spans compared to werewolves. You would be better off a werewolf for your own sake, if you got a pack now you would only do well with you for a couple years before they challenged you. Thats a challenge to the death..." Bray said softly.

Rayn let out a soft sigh. Subtlety wasn't working for him. he kissed the back of Bray's head and held him close, bracing himself for whatever the wolf's answer would be. "Bray...I would be honored if you would be my mate....if I have to be a werewolf to make that happen, but if I have to be bitten anyway, I'd rather it be by you"

Bray looked over his shoulder to Rayn as the back of his neck was kissed. "Really you want me for a mate?" Bray questioned slightly surprised. "I would like that but I can't... I can't bite you. I promised myself never to, I never wanted to cause what happened to me to anyone." Bray continued. "I still want to be your mate though, wolves mates for life..." he warned.

"If you don't want to bite me, that's fine Bray. But I know I want to mate you." he looked into the other's eyes, relief and pure happiness evident in his features. He leaned up and kissed Bray's lips, letting it linger this time. "For life?" he asked softly and paused before smiling warmly. "I wouldn't want it any other way"

Bray was relieved that Rayn didn't press the biting issue and still wanted to mate him. Bray groaned as Rayn kissed him, the kiss was longer than the others and certainly more pleasant. When the other questioned about the mating being for life Bray felt his breath catch in his throat he thought the other was going to change his mind. But when Rayn said he wouldn't have it any other way Bray let out a cry of relief and hugged Rayn.

Bray's cry of relief was one of the most amazing sounds Rayn had ever heard. The wolf seemed happier than the human had ever seen him, and that made him happier as well. With a bright smile on his face Rayn embraced his mate, holding him as close as possible without hurting him. "so....is that a yes?" he asked, laughin softly. "You'll be my mate?"

"Yes...yes...yes." Bray chanted nuzzling Rayn's chest as the other held him. "But when are you going to mark me. Pack member and mate have different marks. But I know what the mating mark is supposed to be, you bite your mates shoulder right over the collar bone until it bleeds so it scars." Bray explained.

"Oh" Rayn said, blushing a deep crimson. "Is...is that how you want to be marked, Bray?" He looked deep into his new mate's forest green eyes. "It's not that I don't want to have you as my mate...it's just that I don't want to hurt you.....isn't there anything else you'd rather me do?"

Rayn held Bray close to show him he did, in fact, want to be with him. The thought of causing himany kind of pain was unbarable to Rayn though. Still, if it was a wolf tradition he would do it. For Bray. "If you really want me to, I will" he said softly. "Only for you"

"Yes..." Bray admitted softly. "But it doesn't mark me as part of the pack." the wolf continued. "I don't think when its done it hurts. It generally done during a physical mating." Bray said his face going completely red.

A blush played its way across the human's features as well when Bray mentioned physically mating. He wanted to, more than anything. "Then...we should probably do it now.....since you're transformation is coming closer" He nearly whispered as he spoke, not trying to rush the wolf boy in any way. "Th...that is...if you want to. I would never force you Bray. Never"

"We can't do it now the sun is gonna come up soon we wouldn't be able to get to that point. I can feel the sun coming closer. I do want to but we can't tonight..." Bray explained. He really could feel his muscles tightening as the sun began to reach the horizon.

"I understand. Right now our top priority is getting you as far away from your old pack as possible. We have the rest of our lives to mate with each other" Rayn kissed his love's shoulder after he spoke and held him close. The human focused on getting his mate clean as fast and gently as he could. He took a little extra care washing at times, but soon had the wolf boy smelling like a rose. Literally in this case, as he used his mother's shampoo and body wash. Rayn bathed himself more quickly and drained the tub as the two dried off with a towel. "Just let me grab a few things and we can go, I promise I will only take a minute"

With that, he ran to his room and grabbed a a few outfits for himself, and some for Bray as well His medical supplies (however limited) were soon added to his bag, as well as cans of food and bottles of water. A small two-person tent just barely fit, and was all he could manage to pack into his bag. He paused for a second in his parent's room and slipped into the closet, finding hsi father's prized handgun and 3 cartridges filled with ammo. Grabing the gun, he slipped it into the waist of his jeans and hid it under his shirt, throwing the ammo into his pockets for easy access. He prayed he would never have to use them, but somehow knew he would. Returning to Bray, he felt a little guilty about taking the same gun is father had used to kill countless animals, but if he needed to protect the wolf boy, he would do whatever it took. "I'm all ready to go, Bray. As soon as you transform, we can leave."

Bray nodded when the other said their top priority was getting away from his father's pack. Bray allowed Rayn to wash him since the other knew best how to hide his scent. Bray laughed as he was dried with the towel it was soft and felt good against his skin although his muscles had tightened significantly.

Bray let out a small gasp of pain after Rayn had left the bathroom. Bray couldn't hold the transformation off any longer. Something snapped within him and he gave a soft cry. The change started abruptly and Bray collapsed to the bathroom floor giving another soft cry of pain as something else snapped and moved. Fingers curled into a fist and seemed to be drawn into Bray's hand, knuckles gave way to become pads of the wolf's feet. Feet too shifted to become more like a wolf's. Bray gave another quiet cry, it was the most painful shift he had ever had going back to a wolf and it was because he was fighting to stay human and speak with Rayn. He had always welcomed the change back to a wolf because it meant he would heal faster. A scream/howl erupted from Bray's half changed vocal coords as his spin began to alter itself when Rayn entered the bathroom again. Finally Bray shifted completely and the dark colored wolf lay on the bathroom floor whimpering in residual pain for the change.

The pained cries didn't reach the human as he went about the house collecting his things. The bathroom was all but soundproof, so Rayn couldnt' hear Bray's howls until he was in the room with him. Walking in, he gasped as he watched the suffering expression on the wolf's face and heard his cries. Rayn rushed over to his mate once his comvulsions stopped and got on his knees, gently holding his now canine companion to his body.

"I'm here" he whispered "I'm here...it's okay now" His voice was weak as he spoke, not entirely sure how much the transformations hurt Bray. That is, until he felt the wolf's uneven breath. "Bray..." he whispered, feeling sympathetic pains for his love. Rayn kissed Bray between the ears and stroked his fur softly to comfort him.
