The past week had been pretty quiet as far as receiving new jobs from the Family went. Shun didn’t really mind this though. It gave him time to recover, and quiet frankly, spend some good time with Mitsu. Besides, he usually didn’t get too many orders in such a short time frame. And usually, when he did, it would be different sorts of little odd jobs for him to do. That afternoon, he found a message left in his voicemail from his Father. Well, that could really only mean one thing.

He began to listen to it, to hear what he had to do next. It was another observation and tracking job. Well, that seemed a little odd to him. More kidnappings? It wasn’t like them to do so many in an area. For one thing, who needed all these kids? And for another, it tended to raise alarms when it was concentrated.

Furrowing his brow, he continued to listen. It sounded like he needed to figure out the schedules of two people this time around. The first was at some other school. The Reaper kept mental notes on the information he needed.

”The second one you need to track is a female werewolf by the name of Mitsu Lupus, who attends Amityville Academy. You might have seen her around already, so this should be easy,” the message continued.

”WHAT?”

Shun completely froze right then and there, nearly dropping his phone in the process. It felt like his blood had gone completely cold upon hearing those words. He didn’t even hear the rest of the message because of it. Staring at the object in his hands, he quickly back tracked to make sure he had heard correctly. There was no mistake about it. A flurry of various emotions hit him at the same time, mostly anger and confusion. It was probably a good thing that the message was recorded and not a personal call else he likely would have flipped out right then and there at his father.

Taking in a deep breath, he sat down on the bed, gripping the phone tightly. Things were going through his mind at lightspeed at this point. There was no way he could let Mitsu be taken away like that. At the same time, saying something would raise suspicions in his father. If Kaitou found out about their relationship, he’d no doubt make the whole situation worse. That, and he’d get punished for going against things. That wasn’t it. He wanted to know why Mitsu was a target in the first place. She wasn’t rich. There was no point in getting a ransom out of her. As far as he knew, her guardian likely wouldn’t give a damn either... and she didn’t have any horrendous enemies. He could be wrong, but it still didn’t add up to him.

There was also the little issue of Mitsu not wanting to be kept in the dark anymore. But this... he definitely couldn’t tell her about this. She would panic, and that’s not something he wanted at all.

”Kusoo...” he hissed while running his hands through his hair. For once he was really questioning his orders. If he hadn’t known the girl, or rather... if he hadn’t loved her, he would have done this without any hesitation. Something about that now disturbed him.

He needed to figure out what to do about this whole mess. Letting out a sigh, he played the message once more, trying to get some sort of idea of what to do. This time, he listened to the end, which detailed where to deliver the information. Apparently his father was going to be in town so he’d be giving it straight to him in one of the older warehouses on the outskirts. It was all the more reason to find a way to make sure Mitsu wouldn't try to tail him anyway.
