The Alpha

[Devourer of Cupcakes]

"She told me all kinds of things about the people I dislike the most and she told me about you." She looked around at the various movies while she talked. "When she was talking a few images of you popped into my head though they had little to do with what she was say."

Nero blinked and looked at her curiously. "What did she say... and what did you remember?" Maybe she finally did remember him, although with his luck she didn't.

"I remembered that time you said you helped me. I saw you come out of know where and start beating those guys up, but I also closed my eyes after the fight broke out. That may have been why it took me so long to remember you." He was a good guy, but she wanted to know more.

Nero smiled happily and nodded. "Wel I'm glad you remember now." He thought about the fight and chuckled softly as he balled his hand into a fist and out again. "Yeah, I broke my hand in that fight. That's what I got for not knowing how to fight."

"You must done okay for yourself because they left." She could recall the sounds and the running of feet at the end. "I never did thank you, so how about I take you out?"

Nero smiled and gave her a nod. "Sounds good to me. I get off in about half an hour." He said as he glanced at a clock.

She smiled as well. "Alright, then I'll come back in half an hour," she said as she walked to the door.

"Damn, I was kind of hoping she'd stay." He said as he put his feet back up and started reading again.

Alina literally ran home so she could hop into the shower and change with enough time to make it back to the store without rushing. She changed into a black and white thin stripped skirt, a black button down top, and a pair of flats. She checked the mirror and then the clock...she had about ten minutes to get back. After saying a quick word to her father Alina left making her way back.

Nero got up as his shift came to a close. He threw the empty slushie cup out and pocked his book. Making sure everything at the counter was accounted for he locked the register and headed outside and locked that up too. He looked down the road and waited for Alina to show up.

Alina was a few minutes late and she found Nero waiting. "Sorry I'm late," she said as she drew closer.

Nero smiled when he spotted her and pushed himself off the wall. "Don't worry about it, I wasn't doing anything anyways." He said and looked her over, liking the new outfit. "So, where are we headed?"

"Well things have changed so I was hoping you could recommend a good place to eat or hang out," she said. Alina was a bit nervous this being her first time out with a boy.

He thought for a few seconds. "You wanna keep it simple or go a bit fancier than that?"

"I was thinking simply and fun." She really hadn't had a lot of fun with the Old Ones, they were all work and no play.
