Daryn just stayed still for a while, lost in his thoughts. He thought about all the things he'd have to do for his dad while he was in the hospital. He still wanted to go to the cabin though. After what happened, he needed somewhere quiet, away from civilization to think.
He also wanted to sort things out with Gabriella. Suddenly he realized how exhausted he was. Last night he'd only gotten two hours of sleep because he was writing songs and finishing homework.
"I was up late again.."
Daryn muttered. He had always had the bad habit of being up late. But the sun was warm on his back and he felt comfortable hugging his little Princess.
His green eyes slowly closed and he went to sleep leaning against the one person he ever trusted to let him do so.

Gabriela sighed and relaxed where she was for a little. Then slolwy she eased him onto the seat properly and seatbelted him. She started the car as quiet as she could and pulled out of the drive way. Sighing she drove quietly too her house and made a quick run across the street to his. She slipped through his window and packed him some clothes. She had done it before. She grabbed him his toothbrush and other neccesities. what ever he didnt' have she'd just go buy it.
After making a few phone calls she threw his bag into her trunk along with hers and got back in the drivers seat. Only stopping to get gas and some coffee, she started to drive off towards the cabin. It would be a few hours ride, but to her, it was worth it. She glanced at vamp and into the rearview mirror. "Why can't you just save me?" she was talking to herself.

Gabriella was the exhuasted now. They were almost to the cabin, and it was dark. She only had a few miles left but she could hardly keep her eyes open. She was out of coffee and she didn't want to wake up Daryn. It was when her phone rang loudly that she jumped and pulled over. She stopped and looked at the Id. Seeing that it was Jason she ignored him and turned her phone off. No phones. Rule number one.

Daryn finally woke up, feeling groggy and only a little refreshed. He saw the scenery flying past through the window and looked around.
Just then Gabriella's cell went off and she jumped. Pulling over, he looked through barely open eyes at her frown. She ignored the call and shut off her phone. He spoke up then.
"Are we going to the cabin now?"
He asked sleepily and yawned.
"Wait... did you pack my stuff for me again?"
He began to liven up a bit and ran his fingers through his black hair, causing it to stick up in some areas.

"yes sleeping beauty" she smiled softly and rubbed her eyes. She was still trying to stay awake. She took a deep breath and opened her window. "Yes were going to the cabin, your stuffs in the back and can you please...please drive?' she gave him her best pout face. She was tired and she was afriad they'd get into an accident if she kept driving.
Only problem was that she knew as soon as she sat in the passanger seat, she'd be out for good. Plus she didn't think he could carry her inside the cabin anymore. After all..she was ten the last time. "I called your Aunt luara. She was on her way to the hospital anyway and said she'd take care of things till you got back.." she yawned a chuckled as she heard a soft meow. "Plus..I kinda picked up a friend on the way..."
The kitten snuggled back into Gabriellas jacket on the back seat and fell asleep.

Daryn nodded when she asked him to drive and when he heard Melody mew from the back seat, he craned around and grinned.
"Hey you!"
He reached over and scratched the kitten's ears before unbuckling and switching with princess.
Settling into the seat, he rebuckled and signaled into traffic.
"Hey.. thanks for calling my aunt. I probably shouldn't have conked out when I did."
He said with a touch of embarrassment. He reached back with one hand and snapped his fingers lightly. When he pulled his hand back, Melody was clinging to his wrist with her spiny little claws.
"You're bad."
He scolded the kitten, but smiled.

Gabriella chuckled gently as she watched him with Melody. She wasn't worried about him getting distracted. He knew the way to the cabin better then she did. She buckled herself in and made a promise to stay awake.
Gabriella never broke a promise. But there's a first to everything. Before she knew it Daryns driving put her too sleep.

After about fifteen minutes, the little princess fell asleep. Daryn smiled to himself, knowing that she needed the rest. Melody had been curled up in his lap purring until she saw Gabriella asleep. Stretching lazily, the kitten climbed over the car's centre console and made herself at home on Gabriella.
"Traitor"
He whispered to her softly and turned his attention back to the road. He thought deeply about his friend's problem. Even though she thought he didn't see, he noticed the slight, yellowish bruise that had formed on her cheek.
"If only I could find out what he has you tied down with. Maybe I could get you out of his reach. Stupid f***ing jock."
He muttered crossly.
After two and a half more hours of driving, they finally came to the dusty road that wound it's way up to the cabin.

A bump made Melody move, and cling to Gabriella's shirt. It was enough to make the tired girl wake up half way. She was known to do stupid stuff when she was half asleep. She remembered walking from her house half asleep and climb into bed with Daryn a few times in the past. She was just fully aware.
"Ow.." she rubbed the kittens hat gently and sat up and ran a hand halfway through her long hair.She rubbed her cheek and winced. She just leaned back against the chair, her eyes still glazed over in a half sleep daze.

Daryn glanced over and saw her remove the kittens claws. He smiled as she shifted, yawned and went back to sleep. Gabriella however remained half awake.
"Hey, you aren't gonna start sleep walking are you?"
He chuckled. The first time he knew about her sleep walking, he had woken up and been very surprised to see her curled up next to him.
He had jumped out of bed, ran into his parents' room and nearly killed himself apologizing and explaining that he hadn't done anything bad. His mom had laughed when she figured out the situation. He smiled fondly at the memory.

She shook her head no. BUt remained half asleep. She looked out the window as she petted Melody. Trying to wake up. But there was no use. She had crashed from all the splenda and cafine.
"We th-" she stopped the question when she saw the cabin. She yawned and rubbed her eyes again. She reached back and grabbed her cellphone throwing it in her purse,making sure not to disturb the kitten in her lap.

Daryn grinned and waited for her to sit back down before he tried anything, but when she and Melody were safely settled, he hit the accelerator and drifted around the corner. Dust sprayed up around the car as he swung around into the parking area, laughing. Melody never once woke up.
"whoo! We're here now!"
He exclaimed as he shut off the car. Looking over at Gabriella with a bright smile he asked.
"You ok Princess?"
Melody then woke up and mewed as if to say 'Fine thanks'.

Still being half asleep she just glared at him. Then fixed her hair. "You drive like a maniac " she muttered. SHe picked Melody p and placed her on the middle counsle.Then took her seat belt off and opened the car door. She leaned against the car for a moment, letting her legs wake up before slinging her purse over her shoulder.
Groggily she made her way to the trunk and opening it. She started to pull there bags out.

Daryn lifted Melody and exited the car. Going to the trunk, he dropped her keys into her purse and helped her carry the bags.
"Maybe. Anyway, which room did you want?"
The cabin had three bedrooms, one with a bathroom en suite, the other was a captain's bed and the third was a regular room with a queen size. Darren remembered when they came as teenagers that Dawn had the en suite, his father had the Captain's bed and Gabriella got the queen size. Daryn, being a gentleman, had slept on the floor.
"The water looks good, maybe we can drag out the canoe."
He said brightly and looked over at her, his smile turning to a frown.
"You ok?"
He asked seriously and after a moment, he brushed her hair aside to see if her bruise had darkened.

Gabriella winced away from his hand. She was sore and when Jason had hit her she had been pushed back against the kitchen counter. Her body hurt and so did her pride. At the moment she felt vulnerable from the memory.
"I don't care..I just don't want to be alone.." she muttered, tearing up again. She felt stupid not telling him. Apart of her knew he knew that Jason had hit her. She kissed Melody's head and headed for the cabin. She knew where the spare key was and opened the door. She dragged her bags in and just put them in the hall. The only bag she brought to the kitchen was some groceries to hold them over and a few bottles of wine.
"I"m going to change into my pjs.." she grabbed her stuff and changed into the bathroom. Taking her clothes off, and slipping ito a pair of pj shorts and a tanktop. But to be polite she slipped her robe on and came back out into the kitchen. Her hair was still loose and she had her arms wrapped around herself. Out of istinct she reached for a glass and looked for where she put the wine.

Daryn got a better hold on his things and hurried to keep up with her. When she announced that she was going to change he just gave her a strange look. She was acting very strange and he was getting worried. While she changed, he picked up her bags and moved them to the big bedroom. He thought it only fair since she was a girl.
Afterwards, he went into the kitchen to find Melody and Gabriella, both rummaging in bags. He chuckled at the kitten but walked in. He crouched down beside her with a half hearted smile.
"You wouldn't happen to be looking for the alcohol would you? Gabriella, I know you're pissed off and upset at that jerk, but it isn't like you to act like this at all."
He said, concern plain on his face.
"What do you mean you don't want to be alone?"
