What is your favorite musical? :B Seriously the worst question to ask me, EVER. First I'd like to clarify the Repo! The Genetic Opera is, in fact, an opera, and not a musical. Just cuz its a rock opera doesn't mean its a musical; it even has opera in the title.
As for MY favorite(s), anything by Sondheim is golden; I've been in a very strong Anyone Can Whistle mood lately (his first musical that he wrote music and lyrics for), or Assassins. Everything (except Phantom) by ALW can burn in a fire pit of LAME for all I care. The Lion King had some of the best costuming/tech design I have EVER scene, only barely beating out the brand-spanking-new Wonderland (I saw the world premier a few weeks ago) on tech/lighting. But Wonderland was seriously lacking in story... In the Heights is perfect for when I want a good dance beat, and Avenue Q, the Producers, or Legally Blond if I want something to make me laugh. But if I'm looking for something that really gets to my heart and makes me want to cry, either Spring Awakening or the Last Five Years really hit home... Or Merrily We Roll Along, but that would just bring me back to rambling about how amazing Sondheim is, and no one wants that... I'm going to shut up now.
