I used to watch that show. I thought it was ok, but got a bit monotonous after a while.

Yea, it was ok. Unfortunately, not much going on now with the stupid writers strike but reality shows and reruns. I still wish we got british tv shows, or that pbs would show dr who again.
How much American tv do you get? Are there whole channels or just a few shows on mixed in with native shows?

I don't think there are devoted channels, except for Five US. Mostly it's popular shows mixed in with British TV.

Firefly and Serenity heart

I love how the first ten minutes of Serenity are designed to bring people who haven't seen Firefly up to speed with the character stereotypes VERY QUICKLY so they can get on with the plot...

Also, the ending was unexpectedly, genuinely tragic. -_-

Unlike the end of Farscape...I don't think any of them knew quite where they were going.

I saw Serenity before Firefly [I'd heard about Firefly but it took actually watching Serenity to convince me that I should buy the series].

And the ending is sad. sad

I really can't believe it was cancelled. Talk about a lack of taste.

I now have Firefly on DVD, and cannot believe just how stupid the decisions made by network executives were, with regards to it.

Swapping the orders of episodes, changing timeslots, skipping weeks at a time - seemed designed to strangle it at birth.

Superb show. Best of the Whedon series - and that's saying a lot.
