Skyla had hoped for a second to talk to Torin before the game, to get a little confidence boost. She wasn't afraid she might not catch the snitch (though Syd Barrett was also a threat on that front), but she was afraid she would mistime the snitch and lose the season anyway. It was a lot of pressure, and her shaky hands betrayed her worry. Hopefully she could focus once actually in the sky. How upset would Aria be.... how upset would all the Gryffindors be? And if she missed, if Syd caught the snitch, they'd fall to last place in the rankings.

The game was called to action, brown eyes scanning the pitch for any evidence of the snitch. Perhaps she'd get lucky early on, then just be able to tail the dang thing until the chasers made a few goals.

Linsey smiled understandingly hearing what Yarrick told her, that her brother didn't mean anything by his statements, and that he was just being competitive. "Just be careful up there, Yarrick,' she told her younger teammate, and wished her good fortune, before moving off to take her position.

With the match underway, Linsey started getting into the flow of the match. She saw Zack take his shot at Syd, while Yarrick targeted Zack. Linsey maneuvered around looking for a 27-kilo iron ball to send cannoning into the fray. 'Time to get busy,' she thought, as she lined up a shot at the Gryffindor seeker.

Aha! There it was. Skyla was hoping Syd was too distracted to notice the snitch, so she slowly loped toward the ball. While focused, she didn't see a bludger headed her way until it was too late. She heard the impact before her brain could register the pain. She slumped over, the impact in her stomach taking her breath for a moment. She still had a job, so she gnashed her teeth and kept after the snitch.

Syd needed to get his head in the game. It looked like Skyla had already spotted the snitch as she began to chase after something while Syd couldn't stop himself from thinking about Echo's pregnancy. That was all that he thought about as of lately. He stikk didn't know what he was going to do. In the meantime, however, he followed behind Skyla, keeping his gaze forward to hopefully spot the damned thing and catch it before she did.
