Got any tips for other people out there that want to take pictures of minis or dioramas like you do? The beach landing in particular is interesting, as almost everything but the two Joe's manning the weapons of the landing craft are perfectly in focus.

Also, the night infiltration? Was that done in post?

Got any tips for other people out there that want to take pictures of minis or dioramas like you do? The beach landing in particular is interesting, as almost everything but the two Joe's manning the weapons of the landing craft are perfectly in focus.

Also, the night infiltration? Was that done in post?

The beach landing is a set I built on D-Day the joes out of focus there is the desired effect. It's a commanders prospective view from the killer whale hovercraft. Taking pictures outside you need to be mindful of your angles as they can often betray the scale. What you can't see in that picture but actually blends in as the jungle in a later one isn't neighbors corn field. For indoor shots lighting is key. If your light is directly on your subject it will often cause glare and poor focus. The night infltration is not post I used a red flashlight. Also I can not stress enough, do not get to close to your subject.


I put the flash on to take these two. As you can see lighting indoor or out can make all the difference

Sorry to hear that, I do hope that it hasn't scared you away from Warmachine. Official tournaments and the game as a whole can be very off-putting to people who don't "get" the synergy mechanics of the game, both old and new, as the more experienced players can sometimes table their opponents by the second turn in rather unsettling displays of cunning or ruthlessness.

How many points were the matches?

Sorry to hear that, I do hope that it hasn't scared you away from Warmachine. Sounds dangerously competitive...xP. I'm sorry you didn't do as well as you hoped. If it was your first, you can always adjust lists and go back for more later smilies/icon_smile.gif its all about the game, and learning, yeah?

How much different is Warmachine than 40k? DE never really talks about any other games than GW stuff.

How much different is Warmachine than 40k? DE never really talks about any other games than GW stuff.

To put it bluntly, Warmachine is an American game and like American sports and boardgames, it's one with total and decisive victories.

Warmachine plays fast, tight and has a set of well-written rules with a special page (page 5) to enlighten you on how the game is to be played:

I adore the game for what it allows, as all units have their own special rules and gimmicks, but when paired with certain other units, the combos you can pull off are horrendously effective.

I'd say give it a try sometimes. 3nodding
