Ducan nodded silently. He didn't know what to say. His voice seemed to have died.
Kevin came over with Lance wrapped in his coat. He handed him wordlessly to Ducan, who took him in his arms. He got in the car, his dog in his lap, next to Faye.
As they drove back to his house, Ducan didn't speak. His eyes seemed devoid of any life as he stared at Lance's body. He didn't say a word, fearing that if he did, he wouldn't be able to stop screaming.
Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, they arrived at Ducan's house. He got out, but his knees weakened and gave way, and he collapsed onto the sidewalk, Lance rolling out of his arms and onto the cool evening grass. Ducan thought he was going to be sick. He heaved great gulps of air and finally, the first strangled sob escaped past his lips. The tears followed soon after, and he buried his fists into the ground, cursing his weakness. He wanted to be strong, had to be strong for his Faye, but this had been too much. He felt sadness and anger as he pulled Lance close and shame at his vulnerability in front of everyone.
(( Bwahaha, bliss never lasts for long! Actually, I shouldn't laugh, I feel sad putting my Ducan through all this. crying ))

Faye ran from the car to Ducan's side, embracing his love and tried to ease his grief. He stroked Lance's fur and choked back sobs: "I'm so sorry...I'm so sorry this happened..."
Both families grieved with the couple, being there for them. Lance's funeral was small but therapeutic. Faye saw sadness still within Ducan as well as a sense of calm. Faye laid with his fiance in bed while he took some sick days, reassuring him that they will be alright:
"I miss Lance so much, Ducan. But you two were closer, I can't imagine your pain. Do not feel that you have to be brave for me. Just let it out."

Ducan said nothing but pulled Faye close to him. He buried his head in Faye's neck and hair and cried. He cried for Lance for the last time that evening. He would not let his beloved dog's death stop his happiness. Lance would always whine whenever he saw Ducan sad, so Ducan would not be sad anymore.
"I love you," he murmured, "I love you so much, Faye." He hugged his fiance tightly, feeling warmth and comfort in his arms. He kissed him softly and wiped the last of his tears away and gave a small smile.
"You know, I'm thinking of getting a puppy," he murmured, "Before our child is born, a playful little puppy to greet them into the world and grow up with them."

Faye kissed him gently, stroking his cheek: "I love you too, Ducan." the baker thought about the idea throughly: "Are you sure, love? I mean...its a great idea and dogs are wonderful. But I don't want you to rush this, ok?" He rubbed his arm and pecked him again.

"We don't have to get one right away," Ducan said, "Perhaps a month or two before the baby is born. I've grown up with dogs and can't imagine living without one."
He snuggled close to Faye and didn't speak for a few moments. Ducan didn't feel like going to sleep. He was just comfy snuggling under the warm, comfy quilted covers with his fiance's warm body next to him.
"I can't wait for us to get married," he said, "I want us to truly belong to each other."
(( Mweeeeh, cutesy Ducan! >w< ))

"That sounds reasonable. We'll look for one after the honeymoon."
His heart warmed considerably, adoring how Ducan curled against him. Faye ran small fingers through long hair relaxingly. There was a certain calm and security laying in their bed:
"I can't either, love!" His stomach gurgled: "But right now, I'm really hungry!"
((*loves* CUTE DUCAN~!! We should make the wedding run smoothly. I feel sorry for them.))

Ducan smiled. "Well then, we'd better fill that tummy of yours!" He helped Faye out of bed, and hand in hand, they walked quietly downstairs to the kitchen.
Ducan winced as his bare feet touched the freezing marble tiles. He felt cool around his torso. Ducan always slept in nothing but pajama pants, so his bare chest and arms were feeling quite tingly.
"What would you like to eat, love?" he asked, burrowing into the fridge like a rabbit with his nose wiggling for food. "I may not be as good of a cook as you, but I think I can whip up something filling."

"Ok...umm..." Faye sat on the stool at the island in their kitchen's center, tapping his chin in thought: "I'm really craving tuna pasta, love." He grinned widely in happiness: "Easy enough?" he teased.

"Yep." Ducan got to work right away, pulling spaghetti out of the cupboard and a tin of tuna. "I wonder if cravings come this early."
Ducan was done quickly as he didn't want to keep Faye waiting and soon placed a bowl of hot tuna casserole in front of him. "Hope this is alright. Tell me, when you get into your weird craving phases like chocolate-covered pickles and the like, so I can mentally prepare myself for the strange sights and smells." He chucked.
(( Whoops! >.< Forgot to answer! But yes! I agree! Smooth wedding. A nice, pretty wedding with happy fluff, because they deserve it. heart This has to be one of my fav RPs I've ever done and I've done a few. :3 ))

"Perfect. Yum!" Faye dug in, slurping and chewing hungrily. Ducan's pasta disappeared in minutes without a chance to fight. The baker petted his stomach: "Very good!" he went to wash dishes, soaping up his bowl: "I'm starting to get cravings already. Last night, I crept downstairs while you were sleeping. Its weird to enjoy cold lasagna topped with whipped cream. But I did spare you having to watch me eat that."
((Same here! I want to start G.P. but I need clients. *winkwinkpokepoke*))

Ducan wrinkled his nose at the thought. "That does sound... ugh."
He shivered at the thought. "Now, let's get to bed." He picked Faye up and carried him back to their bedroom, snuggling under the covers and curling around him again.
"Good night, love," Ducan murmured sleepily before closing his eyes.
(( Oh! Riiight, I saw the others putting them up. XD Give me a day or two to find a good pic or a good description, at least. When do you wanna time skip to the wedding? ))

((WEDDING TIME!! By now its June and Faye is six months along. Hes nice and pump like fruit!!))
The morning of the wedding, Faye found himself laying in bed fully awake, staring at his white tuxedo that hung on the closet door. He stroked his growing belly unconsciously, wondering how exactly would he fit in there. Over the pass couple of months, Faye and Ducan had planned a wedding, found a good location for the bakery, painted the nursery and made fun of Faye's waddle. Everything fot better. Now he was closer to his love more than ever. Finally, he was truly ready to get married.
Then a slight pressure came in his abdomen, Faye's eyes widen in suprise:
"DUCAN!! DUCAN, HE KICKED!!" he hollered, grinning from ear to ear.

Ducan shot his head up, blasted awake by Faye's noise.
"Wha? What happened!?" he stammered. Blinking his eyes, he focused on Faye, excitedly chattering.
He scooched closer and stared at Faye's round belly. "What? He really kicked? Really!?"
He placed his hands on the round, soft skin, eyes wide with wonder. He suddenly felt a small jab under his right palm and he started.
"He kicked! He just kicked under my hand!" he said excitedly. He ran his hands over and over Faye's belly, feeling the tiny kicks coming from his baby, his face practically glowing. "This is the best wedding gift I could ever imagine!"

Faye beamed in amazement, pulling up his oversized 'BUN IN THE OVEN' shirt's hem so Ducan could feel the kicking better. He felt those hormonal tears coming on as his soon-to-be husband radiated with excitement. Faye nodded, this was a fantastic gift.
He felt his son shift then fall asleep, Faye stroked to soothe him and turned to Ducan, still grinning sheepishly:
"Sorry for waking you, love." A kiss was shared; some lip sucking as well: "Its just thats the first time he kicked!! Isn't that amazing?! Minnie's going to be heated that she missed it."

"No one can share these bed moments but us, so don't worry about waking me," Ducan said, "Now, if he kicks at the wedding, everyone can join in."
He sat up straighter, stretching his arms as every muscle in his torso contracted and his bones popped into place. He was now fresh and ready for this most joyous day. "It's time for us to start getting ready anyways. A bunch of people are coming over soon to wake us up if we don't wake ourselves. Kevin's coming over to help me get dressed and all. He's used to wearing suits." He grinned.
"So, we'll probably be separated until the walk down the aisle," he began promptly, rubbing his hands, "And then..." he leaned down to kiss Faye and pulled back, staring at him with his deep brown eyes, "I'll be a married man."
