Uuuup the mountain they went, with Chickpea's curiosity leading him to trail behind the group. Even if it was just a dream, this was still cool and he couldn't help but to look at every interesting thing that they came across -- and there happened to be quite a few. He absently waved around his mushroom, its glow had long since faded but he was partial to it. Natu, taking note of this, fluffed up her feathers and cocked her head to the side. "Where'd you get that from?" she inquired, garnering his attention. "I found it back in a cave, it's my lucky mushroom!" he answered, quite pleased to introduce another friend to his charm. "Hm." Natu adjusted herself atop of Mogwai's head, careful of her footing, before staring harder at the mushroom. "I've seen those before, it's actually pretty rare. Though, I don't know if that means anything, with this being a dream."
Chickpea blinked in surprise before bringing the mushroom close to his face, in order to inspect the fungi. It was rare? He just thought it was pretty, and lucky! He didn't get a chance to fully appreciate it, however, as a booming voice struck from the top of the mountain and Darkrai itself was revealed. Chickpea gasped, eyes immediately drawn upward, before they grew as larger as saucers as a second creature (though calling it a 'creature' was kind) was summoned. Immediately Natu's feathers puffed up and she removed herself from Mogwai's head, taking heed of Darkrai's advice and making herself scarce.
While Darkrai's creature was terrifying, Chickpea's immediate attention fell to Natu, who was hopping in agitation along the ground. He spun around to face her, putting his back to the mountain. "Hey, it's okay!" he quickly tried to reassure, and peeled away from the rest of the group to try and comfort his new friend. "Just because it's big, doesn't mean we can't defeat it. Besides, there are a lot of us!" He gestured towards the other pokemon all climbing the mountain, and as he did so a light, earthy scent began wafting from him. Natu narrowed her eye warily, aware of Chickpea's tactic, but... she couldn't poke holes in his logic; not too many at least. "Besides! This is the last boss! Once we defeat him, we'll be able to wake up," he reasoned.
Natu huffed softly, her eyes still narrowed, but her pacing had stopped, so that was a good sign. "Alright..." The reluctance in her voice was clear, but after a moment she flapped her wings and quickly returned to Mogwai's head. "I'll help where I can," she declared, voice rising just loud enough to be heard. "Mm!" Chickpea nodded his head, rather proud, before he quickly scuttled forward to rejoin the pokemon climbing to confront Darkrai and its beast. "Me too!" he promised, voice steady and surprisingly cheery, though a hint of determination now layered itself in his tone.

Dune was quaking in his nonexistent boots. He wasn't scared of Darkrai, actually, because he wasn't very afraid of the dark at all. But the massive creature Darkrai summoned to do it's bidding... with it's giant stompy hooves, and giant claws, and don't even get him started on the teeth (how did that thing even eat with those!?) !! Darkrai seemed to have disappeared, having flown out of range so the beast stood in everyone's way.
Dune glanced at Sirs Mogwai and Daphnes, Valoo and Natu, and then Chickpea. He'd never imagined they'd get this far, and if you'd told him this was what they'd be facing when they found Darkrai, way back when the most of their troubles was just a little balloon, Dune probably would've run away and let someone else handle it. He nodded to Chickpea, and turned back towards their foe.
Shaking with a little fear, and a surprising amount of anticipation, Dune figured he was supposed to shout out something at the evil Darkrai and its minion. Something cool and strong, like Mogwai or Daphnes would say. But that sounded super embarrassing so he fired off a beam of concentrated ZAP at the Bidoof's face.

Cling had been coasting along, now joined not only with Dice, but a few other pokemon that had funneled together to join the two. They were actually making a pretty good team, and Cling was making excellent progress... Hell, he even felt a power surge as he coasted along, hopping and gliding and slithering his way through the hillside. This place was definitely a good workout, but finally, he was actually feeling stronger because of it! A lot stronger. Crazy stronger. He... he felt like he'd learned something, but what it was, exactly, was still tickling at the back of his mind. That being said... as a voice echoed out, Cling recoiled, and slowed, his wings turning up as he stuttered in his gliding, and practically toppled onto the ground. He stared up at the perpetual sunset, at the form that was darkrai, blue eyes wide as his small form coiled into itself. What... He shook as something enormous was summoned. Something... incredible. Something awful. What WAS that!?!
Cling looked back -- Ulani and Prim weren't too far behind, but... he wasn't sure he could go on without Dice. He wasn't sure he wanted to. Heck, he wasn't sure he wanted to even with Dice. For a pokemon that had only just started battling in a world as weird as this, he wasn't sure he was ready for the challenge ahead of him...

Shade was doing a poor job at communicating with their teammates, but that was to be expected, honestly. They padded up the hill towards the forever sunset, but wispy blue eyes narrowed some as the figure appeared. Coming to a stop, Shade bowed their head, eyes still on Darkrai and, as it appeared, the nightmare. The light form Shades runes grew brighter, and the Chengshen lifted their head. As they did, the faint blue light flashed out, encompassing their form, glowing bright white. The entire time, Shade's focus had been on one thing-- trying to harness that sensation of mind and spirit, to get stronger, to gather up the power splintering inside of them. It was an odd sensation in the dream world especially, but as the light faded, a cold, metallic shell stood there, head slightly bowed... eyes dark. And Shade's spiritual essence hovered above, before darting down, and lighting up the body. Their head jerked up, and without hesitation, they bolted forward. The sooner this enemy was defeated.... the sooner everyone could go home. Even if it was... quite the monstrosity.
