How would you approach the subject without making the person think that you're saying "you're an idiot, but this will fix that"?

"Hey, this is a nice guild. We learn a lot from each other and I think this place might be beneficial to you as well."

?

I'm worried about them seeing the name and thinking that I think that they're fluffy, and turning them off from joining.

biggrin I wouldn't worry about it too much; if it's a problem, just explain that it isn't the case and you just thought their participation here would be nice.

Er...you wait for this page to be buried a little before you send the invite as they could see it and think that is what you think of them?

But you could link them with the abbreviation, PFRC, and they might check it out without being offended. xshrugsx Otherwise, you'll just have to explain, as Col has said.

That sounds like a good idea, I'd hate to turn them off from joining.

It might be easier to just explain away the name than trying to pretend it doesn't exist.

You could just explain to them that simply because the focus of the guild is de-fluffing, that doesn't mean everyone who joins is a fluff.

Some people put 'cores' into their wands.

1. How common is this? Was this heard of pre-Harry Potter?

2. What might sticking your own hair into a wand do for its effectiveness?

1. How common is this?
Likely not very. Coring out a piece of wood is a ******** pain in the a**. Other kinds of wands- such as the copper and crystal variety are easier of course.

Yes.
In the 90's at the shop I worked at there were wands with all kinds of cores.

In generic paganism I'm sure it's intended to build resonance through sympathy.

I HAVE A QUESTION!

So, there is a seal. I need to know the name of it.

User Image

Please excuse the inaccurate angles and proportions, but it's close enough that it should be identifiable.

Where did you see it?

It's a metal coin of unknown material.

Is it stamped, or carved? Also, what color is the metal?

Looks poured to me. But there's a ring around it that keeps me from seeing any spru marks.

Dull- like lead or pewter.

I'm not entirely sure what it is. It's not a Key of Solomon, it's not a Masonic or AA coin, it's not a Full Metal Alchemist transmutation circle, it's not from Supernatural, or Oh My Goddess.
