Faye placed his pot of mashed potatoes on the table, next to it his Mom's steaming poppers. Everything was mouthwatering. He could hear Ducan 's stomach gurgle and growl once he came back with glasses:
"Eat as much as you want." Rachel reassured him, taking her glass.
"Yes, love, that troll in your stomach sounds ready to come out."
"So..." Kikyo came in, pouring some wine for Rachel: "Whats Kevin up too?"
"He's getting into the dating game." Faye beamed, scooping potatoes: "Ducan was encouraging him to pursue his crush."
"Oh really?" Rachel said curiously, glancing at the writer.

"It seems he's fallen for a new male co-worker," Ducan said, passing the pot of mashed potatoes after putting some on his plate, "He just needed a bit of dating advice."
He ate his food and nearly swooned at the royal treatment his taste buds were getting. He couldn't believe how good this tasted.
"This is delicious!" he praised, "You really are a family with talent in the kitchen!"

"Thank you, Ducan." Rachel smiled, sipping her wine: "Its always nice to have an eager stomach to fill with your talent."
Faye kissed Ducan's cheek: "Glad you love the food, hun." He chewed on his popper hungrily while dishing more potatoes. The baker was feeding two: "I called Ambrosia today. I need to figure out how many Dartmoores are coming. Because I need to do seating and menus-"
"Hunna, I'm sure that your engagement party will be great. Don't stress out now, think about the baby." Kikyo warned:
"I know Mother. I just want everything to go perfect."
"Just call Minna. She doesnt even know youre engaged!" Rachel exclaimed.
"Minna is my best friend since first grade." Faye said to Ducan: "She'll be so happy to meet you."

Ducan smiled and scooped up more cheese poppers.
"Hm, I'm looking forward to it," he said.
He thought about his own friends he'd like to invite. His trio of great friends from college who were all writers of different genres were sure to want to come.
"I think a total of about seven family members will be coming," he said finally, "And three of my best friends."
(( Bunni Bun, I think ToDie and I are waiting for Alrirren's answer in the other thread. ^^ ))

"Obateba!" Faye nodded, scraping the potatoes off his plate and standing: "I'm just going to note that in my planner, call Yuki about the reservations and call Minna." The baker stopped and touched his stomach in pain:
"Hunna, go sit on the couch and relax. Kikyo and I will clean up." Rachel said concerned, guiding him into the living room.
"I'm fine, just indigestion..."
"I dont care. Sit. Relax." Rachel warned, heading to the dishes: "Ducan, your fiancee is such a busybody!"

Ducan sat next to Faye and rubbed his tummy in concern.
"Are you alright?" he asked, "Don't strain yourself, my love. You have to relax and keep the baby safe."
He lowered his head and kissed Faye's belly with much tenderness and care.
"I want both of you to be happy and healthy," he said.

Faye softened at Ducan's tenderness, he touched his love's face. The baker kissed him gingerly and took a few deep breaths before speaking:
"I won't strain myself, Dukey. I just want to get everything in order, ya know? But I understand and I should think of family first. Its just I'm so ready to be your wifey!" he knew that Ducan wasn't letting him get off the couch: "Ok, baby, I'll sit for awhile but I still got to call Minna."

Ducan reached over and grabbed the portable phone, handing it to Faye.
"There you go. You can call right now while you rest." He wound his arm over the top of the sofa and around Faye's shoulders, laying his cheek on his head.

He dialed Minnie's number that was forever embedded in his mind. Faye spoke in a comfortable, hyper tone as he filled her in his life's recent events. Minnie responded with the same enthusiasm, as if she would burst through the phone. Their hour long conversation ended by both promising to call more often and friendly 'I love yous'. The baker pressed 'end', resting against Ducan's chest:
"Minnie says: 'Oh my god! Tell him 'hi' and that he sounds terrificly hot and that he would be lovely if I could be the baby's godmother!' plus a collection of other things that I couldn't quite understand because they were in a high pitch tone."

Ducan kissed his hair. "Of course she can be," he said, "If you don't mind making Kevin the godfather. Anyways, he should be heading for a happy life soon. I should call him and see how he's doing."

Faye blushed at his kiss, and gave up the phone: "I wonder how he'll feel about being an uncle AND a godfather!" the baker snuggled closer into Ducan's side: "I'm sure that Kevin is running around like a scared chicken but thats normal."

Ducan waited for a few rings, but no one answered.
"He must be out," he thought, placing the phone back, "I'll try again later."
He turned to Faye. "Are you rested enough? What do you feel like doing now?"
(( I'll be gone on my beach trip for a week. See you next Saturday! ^_^ ))

(( I'm back! Earlier than expected... I got sick. I feel so bad because everyone was so nice to me but my illness meant we had to change our schedule so I decided to go home and let everyone have fun without worrying about me.... crying ))
