Jax and Candlemon stay at the base of File Mountain while Jax contemplates what just happened. They are both sprawled out on the ground.
"Hey Candlemon."
Candlemon looks up to his partner who was sprawled directly in front of him.
"Hm?"
Jax put his hands behind his head before he speaks.
"I almost died today, and I thought that you were going to die along with me."
Candlemon, like Jax is exhausted and doesn't really commit himself to the conversation.
"Yeah?"
A frown spreads on Jax's face.
"I don't like this. I'm starting to wonder if these digimemories are worth the trouble."
Candlemon lays back down.
"Oh"
Jax sits straight up and gets a faraway look on his face.
"Candlemon. I want you to promise that you'll never do anything like that again."
"..."
"How about if I also promise to never put you in a situation when you'd have to ever again?"
Candlemon is silent for a while while he thinks.
"...Okay."
Jax stands up and beckons to Candlemon.
"Let's go. The battle's over. Let's head back to base."
Candlemon rises up, and they both depart the area, but not before they both simultaneously thought to themselves, "Why do we fight?"
[Exit to Royal Knights HQ]

Befroe he started back down the mountain Kaizer had to say good bye to Phoenixmon.
"Good Bye to you and your children."
(Exit to base until further notice)

Anubismon watched from the side lines as the protective tamers got to choose eggs. He was glad that Kyo was the one to get it, he by far fought the hardest out of all the tamers here, at least in his opinion.
Well that's the end of this unfortunate chapter, I'm beat.
Well this form is most appealing yet so draining. I'm not sure I'll be able to hold it much lon--

Out of energy, Anubismon broke their unity, splitting back to himself and Marcus. "Sorry, but I couldn't keep it long." The now purple Anubismon looked down and whimpered a bit.

"It's alright, this is the first time you've done something like this, I'm sorry for forcing this on you." Marcus rubbed the back of his head and looked around, there was no one there but Phoenixmon. "Well how about we get out of here." He turned and waved to the Phoenixmon, a hint of dark aura protruded off of him as his eyes flashed a yellow color for a split second.

"Yes... let's do that."

Once the two made it off the hill, there was Asuramon (Zanbamon's lower stage) waiting for him, tired as Hell. Once the digimon noticed him, he got up and walked over to the tamer.

"Never... again. I ache all over just so you know. That Crusadermon was a tough cookie, but I took him out." The digimon winked and pounded his chest boastfully. "Soo how about we get out of here."

"We will after Yevon... gets here...." It then occured to him all that had happened before the memory was obtained. The happiness he had for the Spirits all vanished then. Marcus's mood changed completely after this revelation "DAMMIT!!!! I completely forgot, those Knights are going to pay... they all are."

Marcuse was overcome with anger as he realized that the two groups needed to be taught a lesson. He sniffed a few times and then realized that there was still fire burning from his and Dax's fight. "Dammit, we gotta put out this fire." He quickly whipped out his digivice and sent Marik and Siegfried back to the digifarm. He then put in the command for Esumi, "ALRIGHT!! NAPTIME'S OVER!!! SPIRIT EVOLUTION!!!"

Water surrounded Marcus as he was taken over by the Spirit of Water and then transformed into Ranamon.As the process ended, Ranamon looked over the flames and snorted, "RAIN STREAM!!!"

Ranamon forms a ball of water and tosses it up into the air to create a large rain cloud that erupts all over File Mountain. She/He then starts to manipulate the rain, whipping it around to hit all the burning areas.
"So much destruction and they all just left it here."
"I feel slightly responsible for some of this."
"WHY?! You're here taking care of the problem... Filthy Knights and Spirits alike."
"Ummm... you're one of them..."
"No... Esumi is Esumi. I am myself and partner to you... Not the same."

"And it would seem that we have company." Ranamon stopped when she sensed the presence of someone or something moving through the rain. She/He then looked off in direction of a flying figure approaching. A ball of water formed in their palm just in case the visitor was aggressive.

Looks like you were right..."
Of course..

Ranamon shot the ball of water at the bird digimon and then used the rain to make a thin wall. They was still hit by the heat of the attack that knocked her back, but it could have been worse. Ranamon then picked herself up and focused on the ball that she threw. She crushed her hand and made the ball explode into a volley of water spikes that darted at their opponent, "AQUA NEEDLE!!!"

Any idea?
I think its some type of bird... it wouldn't be the guardian, would it?
I hope not... I would hate to kill it...
