27. What animals would you typically associate with Valentine's day? Swan, or white bird of grace. it is typically taken as the absolute sign of Valentines day beacuse when two swans put their beaks together their necks make a heart. which is the typical symbol of love. Ω is the symbo of union. to me it looks like a forwards 2 and a backwards 2. think of what a swan looks like floating on the water... see how the nect from the beak to the base looks like a 2? (i may have put too much work into that, but thats what gets me good grades)

23. What do you think the story is behind Valentine's day? •The tradition of Valentine's Day is believed to have originated from the pagan customs of the Third Century or Fourth Century B.C. •the Parentalia and Feralia Festivals of Purification were celebrated in Ancient Rome between February 13 and February 18. This was also the time of a Fertility Festival which celebrated a young man's rite of passage and involved animal sacrifices and fertility rituals. • February 14, the second day of Parentalia was called the Lupercalia...a day some sources believe was dedicated to Juno-Lupa, the She-Wolf.
p.s. i asked my teacher this a few days earlier. lol kinda glad she went on for 45 minutes ^^(some info found on e-net(shewolf*))
